  • Step into the sacred realm of devotion as we guide you through the art of performing arati at home for Lord Krishna. Arati is a cherished ritual that allows us to connect with the divine on a profound level. In this tutorial, I'll be your companion, sharing not just the techniques but the spiritual significance and love that make this ritual truly special.
    🕉️ What This Video Offers:
    A step-by-step demonstration of the arati ritual
    Insights into the significance of each arati item
    Personal anecdotes and stories that deepen your connection
    Important note: After I made and uploaded this video, one senior devotee corrected me saying that while inviting the Holy rivers into the patra I need to use my middle finger instead of the finger I used in the video. So please, keep that mind. Please use your middle finger.
    Performing arati is more than a ritual; it's a heartfelt conversation with the divine. Whether you're new to this practice or a seasoned devotee, you'll find inspiration and guidance here.
    🕯️ Mantras Used in This Tutorial:
    Mula Mantras For each Deity there is a mula-mantra, or a root mantra. This mula-mantra will be used often throughout the day in the performance of various services to the Lord.
    The mula-mantras are as follows:·
    The mula-mantra fo r Krsna is: klim Krsnaya namaha
    for Radha is: shrim raam radhikayai namaha
    for Radha and Krsna together is: shrim klim radha krishnabyam namaha
    for Baladeva is: om namo bhagavate vasudevaya
    for Lord Caitanya is: klim gauraya namaha
    for Lord Nityananda is: klim deva jahnavi vallabhaya namaha
    for Advaitacarya is: klim advaitaya namaha
    for Gadadhara is: shrim gadadharaya namaha
    for Srivasa Thakura is: shrim srivasaya namaha
    for the guru is aim gurave namaha
    for the parama-guru is om parama-gurave namaha
    for Subhadra is om hrim bhuvanesvaryai namaha
    fo r Jagannatha is om gopijana-vallabhiiya namaha
    for siilagriima-silii is om namo bhagavate vasudevaya.
    The mantras for each item are as follows:
    Incense: esa dhupah and the mula-mantra
    Camphor and ghee lamps: esa dipah and the mula-mantra
    Water in a conchshell: idam arghyam and the mula-mantra
    Cloth: idam vastram and the mula-mantra
    Flowers: etani puspani and the mula-mantra (idam puspam if offering a single flower)
    Camara: esa camara-seva and the mula-mantra
    Fan: esa vyajana-seva and the mula-mantra
    This tutorial is not just about following steps; it's about cultivating a deeper bond with Lord Krishna. Let's come together in devotion and embrace the divine presence.

    when inviting holy rivers into the patra u should ankusa mudra, same like what u did but the middle finger should be used instead of ring finger. & little finger should go down.

      @MohiniMadhavi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      I see. Thank you Prabhu. Actually, that part I recorded twice, one with middle finger. But later was confused what finger we need to use. I will take a note of it. If possible please give hint where I can read about it fully.

      :D So happy you got your first saree dear Sarah. It is ok to do arati at home in lehenga also. Regarding saree draping video, I feel shy to make such a video, but there are already so many videos out there. You can search for south Indian style of wearing saree.

    Very very clean altar mataji
    , in India my city Agartala (located on north east India)mostly people doesn't clean altar properly and the deties are also some times keep dirty full of dust, dressing also doesn't look nice ,hardly in once in the year little bit amount of prasadam is offered ,and the deties are also of demigods like Lakshmi,Durga, Ganesha or sometimes their is a dirty photo of lord Krishna,never read any scripture like bagvat Gita,the japa is also of Durga or Kali 's or other demigods mostly,. means the worship is totally useles
    but every Vaishnava or ISKON devotee 's home altar is always clean and very beautiful,the deties are always shining, cleaning the altar regularly, offering prasadam. Always devotee read the holy scriptures like bagvat Gita or bagvatam also do many services
    THIS IS THE REAL WORSHIP

    • @MohiniMadhavi

      Pankaj Prabhuji, thank you for noticing good thing in Vaishnavas! It is because of Srila Prabhupada's sacrifice now we have good sadhana, lots of books like Bhagavatam, beautiful temples and his instructions and his close followers like our present sannyasis.
      If leaders of the society cheat the their subjects then things go wrong. People stop trusting spiritual leaders. That way chaos in the society begins.
      But Srila Prabhupada was not a cheater. He didn't claim himself God but a servant of God. So we need leaders like Prabhupada to make people become better devotees. And be cautious of cheating sadhus who mislead simple hearted people.

    • @MohiniMadhavi
      @MohiniMadhavi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your ability. If you can continue it for life then yes you can do that. If it is going to be difficult then better not to vow. Or try doing without giving a word. Usually in Temple we do full Arati. Even after doing Abhishek we offer full arati. But there is no limit on how much you can offer to the Lord. You can offer 16 items, or 64 or 108 etc. So do something in your capacity. Doing daily abhishek is already a great service.

      No shame about it. Everyone is soul, part and parcel of Krishna, body is just outward dress, it doesn't matter. Real divine knowledge can be learned from anyone. Even Lord Hanuman is a monkey, Sri Sukadev goswami is a parrot, Maharaja Bali is an asura(demon by body)... So what does it matter, only devotion and love towards Lord matters.

    Харе Кришна! вы говорили "если вайшнавы в комнате, то мы предлагаем тоже им". интересно то, что одна пуджари в храме мне сказала, что даже если никого нету нужно предлагать потому что на арати могут присутствовать полубоги и другие существа, которых мы не видим:)

      Thank you dear Linda Mataji, I just painted it and decorated the inner part. Otherwise it was already a hand carved altar.

    Where have you bought this amazing altar? OMK so beautiful. Thanks for the clip. Was just investigating about the mantras again. My I humbly point out something? I learnt that in the short acamana we take new water for each mantra... so om keshavaya namah ... om narayanaya namah ... om madhavaya namah. And in India in-between hand cleaned with acamana water.

    • @MohiniMadhavi
      @MohiniMadhavi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, new drops of water each time from the acamana vessel. Thank you for your comment dear Monique! One devotee family gave us this Altar. It was silver in color, but later I painted it with pearl color and carved parts with different colors. I have a video on that.

    Hi mam nice mandir ❤️ and do you worship the lord Ganesha in your Aarti ceremony? He is a requirement to be worshipped before any god I don’t even hear you say “Om gam Ganapatiyai Namaha” you seem to put more emphasis on gurus than the other important gods not that it is wrong but I’m just curious because iskon followers tend to do this it is important to worship ganapanti aka vinayak aka pollayar because of his story with his parents and he is the remover of obstacles for the Pooja or in your case “Aarti Ceramony”another thing is I don’t hear you talking about the other Hindu holy books like the Puranas and you don’t talk about other important Hindu gods like Lakshmi mata Saraswati or even lord Venkateswara no offense i only see “lord Chaitanya” in iskon followers and not other Hindu followers hmmmm I wonder? and I have seen many Pooja room videos and not one had “lord Chaitanya” and I’m only giving constructive criticism I don’t even see you doing Lakshmi Pooja on Deepavali, Ganesh Chaturthi, mahashivatri, NAVRATRI A VERY IMPORTANT HINDU HOLIDAY anyways I’m not trying to judge but just expressing my options

      Thank you for your concern Xin. There are 33 mln Demigods. And unlimited number of expansions of Krsna. So within one life time we won't be able to worship them all and please them all. People used to do posh Deity worship in Dwapara yuga offering tons of gold, jewelries, fruits, vegetables and gallons of gallons of real cow ghee. If we want to satisfy Demigods we need to do that kind of worship and with zero mistakes. That is why every householder used to do pancha maha yagya daily. And pancha maha yagya is not easy. Person should wake up in Brahma Muhurt, clean himself, take bath in a particular way etc. Invite guests home daily, take care of brahmacharis and sannyasis, fast of particular days, no meat no drinks etc. so many rules. Which we can't do in Kali yuga. That is we follow Bhagavad Gita - sarva dharman parityaja. And worship only Krsna. Krsna is the root everything. When He is satisfied everyone will be pleased. Like Krsna ate a grain of rice and made all Durvasa Muni's students full. Lord Chaitanya is Krsna Himself. But more merciful form of Krsna. So we mostly take shelter of Lord Chaitanya.

      Vedic Girl ohhhh ok 👍 now you don’t need to prepare a tons of items and tons of preparation for Demi god worship its more like what you have and know cuz your Bhakti is more important god would prefer that you do a simple pooja than one with elaborate steps and it’s not even from the heart well at the end of the day Hinduism has many sects Shaivisim, vaishnava, Shaktism and many more and it is more like following your own path to god cuz Bhakti is more important some may want to worship Mahadeva, Vishnu or both (like me) cuz I love them both the good part of Hinduism’s that it’s not a abrihamic religion where one side is right and the other is wrong it is more like following your gut for me my puja steps are more like clear mind, worship Ganesh, guru, then the gods I have more steps but mines it more old fashioned way of worship I guess for me I don’t worship all the gods just the mostly Ganapati first and the ones I have to worship are Saraswati Laxmi and yes I worship Krishna as well and Shiv and we don’t have to worship all of the gods just the ones you are drawn to cuz Hinduism is an open minded faith ❤️ and again there is no certain way of doing pooja(worship) as long as we do it from the heart cuz that is what matters
