The words showed on the last scene is “斗罢艰险又出发” which is a line from the lyrics of the song (humming from 12:18) named "敢问路在何方". The lyric means "overcome the difficulties and hit the road again". And the song is from the 80s JTW TV series. And you knwo what, most of the buildings, statues in this trailer are REAL. Yes, they exist in China.

Only thing is that it's not that historically accurate. Most of them aren't Tang dynasty style, which is the time period that the story is set in. However, the original journey to the west book was written in the Ming dynasty, so I guess that reflects that

@@niubi3923 Thing is they never said that this game is based on the original novel. Instead, it may be based on “后西游记” which is like the continuation of the original work. The four characters in that novel followed the footsteps of their predecessors and completed their quest. The settings of these 4 match more accurately with the depiction at the start of this trailer.

Have you notice the words start in 10:30? I am impressed that these translators are using "Thou shalt kill" instead of "You shall kill." They are using classic English to adppt classic Chinese writing style, which is amazing.

WTF I wouldn't have discovered this gem of a channel until I searched up other peoples reactions to this.
That final song is an alternate version of the original 1980's TV series. As I kid growing up watching that show, it brings a tear to my eyes hearing it. The two lines basically translates to Dare I ask where the path is, the path is wherever the feet walk. It's a very symbolic song.

As I read both English and Chinese, I feel soooo fking frustrated that those lines couldn't fully and perfectly translate into English to let ppl discover the meanings behind them
I feel you. I just added a post uunder the black myth wukong topic in a chinese community called zhihu, offered my translation, @ the dev team, not much feedback yet. Hopefully they will get some quality subtitles for this amazing game, so people who don't read chinese don't miss that much.
Since you are interested in this as well, I will post my translation here for reference. Feedback welcome.
Part of the text is too difficult that requires more time and effort which I did not cover here. First translation is the original one and the second one is mine.

Shame most of you cant read Chinese. This dialogue is so well written in classical Chinese, and basically a rhyming poem. The Eglish translation only captured a fraction of meanings behind.

(Birdhead guy is actually the same kind of gods as the 13-minute demo version of the little Potato-head guy. The area of he is in charge of is Xiaoleiyin Temple. It comes from a place in the 65th chapter of the original Journey to the West. Most of the scenes in this preview are also based mainly here. But this Birdhead god's attitude is obviously indifferent to the other in comparison with the 13-minute version, and even advises the monkey to stay on track and not resist to gods. )

PS2: And lastly let me briefly describe the original story of Wukong: Wukong has two masters in the story.
The first master taught him martial arts and spells, that is, 81 variations. After Wukong learned it, he became very powerful. In the human world, no one can beat Wukong, he ran to the place of the gods in the sky to make trouble, and the gods could not beat Wukong, and finally an invincible god appeared. You only need to know that he is The invincible is right. He is called Tathagata. He subdued Wukong and suppressed Wukong with a mountain.
500 years later, Wukong met the second master. This master is more like Wukong than the first master. His father, he rescued Wukong from the bottom of the mountain, sew clothes for him with needles and threads, taught him how to behave, and made him rational.
The story officially begins here. Wukong’s master is the reincarnation of a god. His task is to obtain the human bible and then become a god, but he can only go there on foot. These two people are called Big Brother Wukong, and the four of them walked together, and Wukong rebelled against the master many times on the way.
In the end, he was moved by the master and became a very rational "monkey". They will experience 81 difficulties on the road, and finally collect the Bible. The four of them finally met the invincible god-Tathagata, and they all became gods.
This is the story of Journey to the West and i am very glad that game developers adapted story from actual legend itself and put them into game without changing them so much. Just like how God of War take its lore from Greek Myth, Wukong in other words this game also takes its lore from actual Chinese Myth. I am really hyped to play another take on legendary mythological based on actual lore from east!

Based on the two trailers they have released, the game seems to reinterpret the journal to the west, which is also the most fantastic part of the game, because the master piece of this book what we read now is the brief story of the original story. the original story has actually a lot of comedy elements and hidden critics against the political issues since the 16th century, and honestly, they are still applicable up to now. I will feel bad if the comedy part is missing, not just the bloody fights

Watch the 81-episode series called Tay Du Ky 1986 you will know the whole story. The trailer here feature Demons pose themselves as Buddhas and Arahan, and also Wu Kong got dragged on the floor. There is an episode where FBI from hell comes to capture WuKong's soul (death). The King of Hell tells WuKong that all living things life and death is controlled by him and it's WK turn to die. WuKong beats the crap out of them. The King of Hell has to call for help from Emperor of Gods in heaven. WuKong beats all Gods in heaven including EoG which resulted in EoG called for mayday and Goutama Siddarta Buddha for help. Of Buddha is way more powerful than WuKong so he imprison WuKong for 500 years until Tang Seng appears to release him.
