I respect the grind of this channel. I read a comment that said you don't push anything to buy, but just speak on the discgolf facts of right now. I, too, can not sit for a whole podcast, so I enjoy the videos you produce.
I like how a lot of the early comments are usually haters but honestly I appreciate the content. It's not trying to sell you something, it's just disc golf information. Keep up the good work
I think one of the biggest opportunities is growing the game outside of the US and Europe. I also think there's nowhere near enough money coming in from outside advertisers. Just go watch a PGA event, you'll see million dollar ads from everything from fashion to cars to banks. DG does it yes, but there's room for way more.
I'll buy Climo stamped Discraft discs :) I'm happy for Ken. While Innova never backed what one of the two greatest MPO players ever wanted to do, Discraft stepped up. Now, if possible, he might be able to get his hip fixed. I guess Ken could become part of the Discraft Ledgends' Team? That would be ironic, but maybe you can't unless you played for Discraft during your MPO career. It would be great if he could play Masters and at USDGC again (wearing Discraft 😏).
Having Touring Pros pay entry fees is ridiculous, They are the product...Hey pros quit the tour and start cleaning up at A and B tiers and make the $ you deserve!
12x KC Pro Buzzz Let's Go! I am a Roc thrower for sure, I bag 4xKCPro Rocs, 1xFresh, 2xSemi-Flesh and 1xFleshy. They cover 90% of my midrange shots and a RocX3 and Fuse for the extreme ends of the mid spectrum. I know there will never be the "KC Pro" of Innova which I really like, but if they get close, maybe something inbetween the R-Pro and KC-Pro (D is not that) I could dig it. If not, I hope Innova holds the rights and continues to produce the KCPro Roc and I'll stay put in that market. KC, get your money , you earned it.
Keep it going guys. Love the updates and insights. Here is a crazy idea. DGN starts adding podcasts and shows like you guys, Brodie, Simon and others. Instead of just relying on Patreon, contracts for you all based on increases in DGN subscribers. I would be more inclined to keep a DGN sub all year if there was more variety and insight/news/rumor mill content
I think commenters acting like a grown man accepting a different sponsorship so he can pay the bills and have a comfortable retirement while having more opportunity to invest in disc golf philanthropy is “selling out” is hilarious. Everybody needs to chill. It’s just a sport 😂
I don't often agree with Brodie, but I do think you guys are doing good. In the proper meaning of "doing good". That's why I give you some small monies every month. :)
@@jacobjones1774 Climo has a bad hip and playing a full round is difficult. McBeth still has the ability to play near his top level. It probably wouldn't be much of a match unless Ken can now afford to fix his hip and properly recover.

Can anyone here say theyve bought a Climo disc in the last year? 5 years? Ever? I've played for 20 years and I've never once even considered buying one because...he doesn't compete😅 Genuinely curious!
Climo disc no, the KC Pro plastic which may be renamed or just moving to KC dropping the Ken Climo changed every year he was playing in the 2000's dropping the Leopard from the line after the first year KC Pro was made becuse the mold had changed to fit Dave Feldberg's play flying less like a straight disc and more like a new unthrown 2000's Champion Valkyrie in a minor S pattern, this all before the KC Pro name was sold when KC stopped playing and then was as consistent as Innova was in the mid 2010's before they figured out the flashing, stiffness, and waxiness on all non DX plastic also I hate what the KC Pro Plastic was mainly used on, the Roc a disc mold in any plastic I can't throw due to a truly uncomfortable shape and flight of disc and the big bead Aviar a disc I do not like feel of with some rare KC Pro Whales due to how dep the mold is. Innova is could afford to lose all the players yet keep going as the top seller of Disc golf specific discs due to in North America almost all Walmart's having the Innova Starter pack, most beginner players can get some plastic from the brand when staring out at least even if the discs are in my opinion from the Starter pack since the 2010's are sold in in too light of weights for players age 10 on up when starting out as 150--155 gram discs are what should be used with maybe putter 155--160 grams. The lighter discs in a starter pack in the old E.D.G.E series need to be started up again for younger players as a Jr 9 and under series as the starter discs then eventually develop a line of these Jr 9 and under discs that I bet some discs will float. Sure Walmart's in USA last year got Prodigy stater sets but soon after the 2023 summer, Walmart USA division dropped the Prodigy line of discs from USA Walmart's.
Discraft selling discs with Climo's name on them is like the Jets selling Tom Brady jerseys... He's burning the bridge with Innova just to sell products with a brand he has never had any affiliation with. Also, next to no one is buying discs *_because_* Ken Climo's name is on them - They're buying discs that just happen to have his name on them. He'll be getting paid well but it's still a really weird move to sell out like that. Integrity always has a price, I guess.
Ken is just getting his due. Innova never wanted to pay him anything but for disc sales. But being one of the two greatest ever MPO players, he could have been an ambassador for the sport, generating good will for Innova and disc golf all over the world, much as McBeth has done. Innova never saw the value in this. I think they missed out. Where was Innova's right conduct?
@@joeblow2426 Innova has more data than any other company, and they've never seen value in paying big money to a player. The vast majority of disc golfers can't name a single pro.
It's a job change with an increased paycheck. Climo is a DG legend in an arena that doesn't generate significant revenue, but great if discraft believes he's relevant enough to sell more plastic. Today's pros are significantly different and the clips in this video definitely poke at that.
@@trev3971 What does "has more data" mean? And how are they using that "data" whatever it is? How do they know their "data" is good? How have the tested it? This is about corporate values and culture. Dave Dunnipace feels he is the star if the show. More of a "it's the [Aero], not the archer" mentality. Yes, Innova has great disc designs that other manufacturers copy. That's Dave's genius. But Innova's manufacturing itself is not that great--excessive flashing, large inconsistencies in flight between different runs. Now Dunnipace was a distance champion but he was no Ken Climo. Yet, Dave is the face of Innova. I think there is an ego problem here, and a lack of understanding about marketing, and failure to recognize Ken's place in the game. Because KC has been out of the limelight, many COVID era Disc Golfers don't know him, but they can learn. You can't deny his success and greatness because "it's the [A]rcher, not the [Aero]." Discraft may or may not make money from its hiring of Climo, but the intangible value and goodwill he brings is priceless.
I can't see him selling 10k discs a year to even justify salary at retail cost... Discraft is insane with these contracts. They should have invested in better feeling plastic...

Can we get a disc golf “the match” (like ball golf)? Mcbeth vs climo for a single round with big money stakes?!?
A 56 year old is never beating a 34 year old, no matter how they'd match up in their primes.

I've always been curious... how do they pay out those contracts? Is it a 1 time payment, monthly payment or weekly type of thing?
I would think it's probably quarterly. Allows the money to spread out but be consistent. If not monthly is probably the next bet
Only 5 % of players make a good living throwing its a nice hobby😊
So if Cameron Todd is to the challenger then Climo is to the...
