Man, you've really made me miss my beautiful Salvini that was ruined by a Mayan Cichlid back in '15. I adored her. Once that male Mayan finally realized the female Salvini was useless for procreation, the bastard turned on her, lethally. I was such a newb back then, and would NEVER put those two species together again. One day I'd like to try my hand at a colony of Salvinis in a huge 200+ gallon tank. My unsupported theory is that the more Salvinis in a larger tank, the more the aggression may spread and or dissipate. Hopefully, I''m on to something that will allow me to enjoy that gorgeous fish in multitudes🤓.

My female salvini cichlid wants to breed with male bloor parrot thats not fertile but he is partnered up with my female parrot so the female salvini keeps fighting and tearing up my female parrot and now the male parrot is fighting the female salvini and for some reason my oscar is getting involved now and then maybe he sees and opportunity

I have a 75 gallon with a map turtle and 2 Electric blue haps. Could a Salvini be a nice option to go with them?

How many do you recommend in a tank? What size tank?
CT Aquascaping we would recommend at least a 55g tank for one, and potentially larger for a pair. They can get quite aggressive towards each other, especially when breeding

CT Aquascaping the Salvini is about 6 inches, and the Jack Dempsey is biggest at around 9

Plants used in your Tank are real? If yes pls share the plant names
They're actually fake plants. Salvinis and similar cichlid species will usually tear up/uproot any real plants.
Would a single salvini work as a wet pet in a 37.g 36"x15"x16"?
It would be a bit tight once it’s an adult, but if it’s solo in the tank it could probably work
