The Soundtrack to my youth !!! Loved the days of this Such a Pioneer sound so Dub and sheer Spine Tingling !! Even Massive Attack are covering It live in 2024 its as they say UNDEAD !!! x
too shy to go out in the early eighties (and a bit too young) so listened to so much Bauhaus alone in my room.....still the music that connects deepest
Oh my actual god..... There's been a video lurking in the tombs all these years waiting to come out under the cover of darkness some 45 years later?!??? Thank you so much! There are a lot of people who'd love to read your version of events from 1979-1983.
this is excellent, thank you for posting. All that opening percussion, brilliant, evocative of bat wings, tapping branches, creaking doors and floorboards...and I only just realised, underscored by a bossa beat, partly obscured by other sounds. Inspired classic
Thanks for uploading this Graham, I was hoping your hours of early Bauhaus recordings would see the light of day sometime. Good to see the band when they wanted to play together rather than despising the lead singer and just doing it for the cash! I drove past where the Small Wonder Record shop was on Hoe Street the other day - there's a blue plaque on it but I was driving and couldn't read it. Kudos to Pete Stennett for having the balls to release it
@@halfmanhalftripod9488 I'm just a nobody who was a huge Bauhaus fan back in the day (not so much now though) so was aware that you had a shedload of footage of the early stuff. I also went to college around the corner from Small Wonder so spent far too much time and money in there!
Only went to the Paddocks once. A little too young, so missed a few cool things, this included. The place was a Beefeater restaurant last I saw. That's a nice little piece of beautifully banal Northampton life in the description. Nice to have some happening fast. Though most life is happening slow.

Peter Murphy= My fucking ACTUAL GOD for sure!!!...
What I also love is the opening - a tease of ALL of your other B A U H A U S footage.

... actually I'm not sure whether it's possible to spend too much money on records!
