Can She Say That? Signe Wilkinson Cartoons a Man's World

Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist Signe Wilkinson spoke at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania on June 11, 2024. In her talk, she provided an overview of her own career and the history of political cartooning. The talk served as the celebratory opening for the document exhibit Cartoons as Political Speech in Colonial and Contemporary America, which touches on Philadelphia’s role in late colonial and Revolutionary politics, burgeoning publishing and print culture, and transatlantic commerce and communication. The exhibit is on view from June 11 through August 2.
