From memory the Ad Hoc Star Forcepack was made up of what ever left over minis they had after cancelling some forcepack ideas during the Clan KS Wave of forcepacks as things were getting reshuffled around. 3025 Javelin I use is my JVN-10HH. It's refit of the 10N that drops a SRM 6 and a ton of ammo for 2 medium lasers putting the remaining tonnage in armor. HH stand for half and half since it's kinda a cross between the 10F and 10N.
You know what i keep forgetting the name the Ostsol, but I can remember the name the Arsehole! Them two mech picked out will go well with DCMS a javlin and firestarter which is normally the omni version.
Great video as always lads. I am dividing up this lance to fill out a few Kickstarter related unit projects. The Ostscout is going to a Battle of Misery era Dragoons light lance. The Javelin to fill out a lance of ilClan era 1st Liao Guards. The Spector is either going straight to the head of my Sian Dragoons. As for the Firestarter...I am really tempted to go for Band of Five, Bannson's Raiders...yeah I may have loathed the Clicky-Tech era...but damn I bet the walking zippo will look good in that scheme.
Can't believe you guys still haven't got your stuff. Not expecting mine until December at the earliest over here in the UK. And with Christmas coming up I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed to the new year.
@@christopherm4510 It doesn't matter because for a few years now Mech names don't get translated into German anymore because it was a real mess with some translations having the same meaning as mechs that were introduced later and so on. Now a Firestarter is just a Firestarter, also in German.
I adore this set because its got 2 bread and butter light mechs (JVN and FS), 1 fairly suspension-of-disbelievable (OTT) and 1 Black Geometric shape flying over Area-51 that you'll never see again (SPR).

I got a adhoc pack and the 4 lights have all found homes in Scorpion and Falcon stars but that Kodiak just collects dust since I don't have Gohst Bears at all
The Scorpions did actually use Kodiaks too if you got some spare forces awaiting an assault for that. As well as from the early republic the Wolf Dragoons started messing around with them as well as entered Mercenary general availability.
When this Box arrives, I can finally replace the printed Firestarter and metal Spector in my Tamar Jaegers myself. :) I guess the Ost and Javlin will join my Liao forces. This is one of my Most anticipated boxes too. :)

It was very high on my list for 2 reasons: #1. I wanted every mech in this release that's a new version of the unseen. The Ostscout is a must for that. #2. The Javelin and Firestarter are staple lights for me. Especially the Javelin. I wonder if I'll be the first to turn my factory fresh plastic Javelin into a JVN-10F Fire Javelin? Also-you guys do have a fan base. $$ is not the only way we can support. I've already opened up most of mine but I keep the boxes and cards. If you have a specific pack you want to show on here maybe I could loan it to you? If you might be interested let me know and I can Email you. I won't be able to paint for a while anyway.

You have to magnetize the torso of the Firestarter so that you can twist back and forth during a BatRep when you roast stuff in front of the 'Mech. I did not get that force pack, but from that pack, the Spector looks the best, most "alive," from what I have seen.
Ha! I had an idea about a merc unit that makes money stealing mechs. Basically they have a civilian dropship. Slip onto a planet after a major battle and "salvage" a couple of mechs before anyone knows they're there

They are all roughly equivalent at 13 FV (based off the first unit size and then just kept them all the same size - except the clan star which is about 1.5 times). Made and sleeved cards for everything just to help some buddies check it out. Mildly concerned about matching more units to expand. - Thanks for the insight
For what it’s worth, I tend to look at the cost/size of the mechs in the force and allocate units that fit the curve and fit from a faction perspective. For example, I would not build a force of 10 clan mechs and have five or six assaults. Because of the cost of clan units I might instead do three lights, four mediums, two heavies and one assault. In that regard, I consider what mix of Max will have the most reuse in playing actual games. And also, I have an Excel sheet for every faction with paint colors, brush sizes, steps , and so forth so that I can replicate the scheme as closely as possible!
@@DeathfromAboveWargaming yeah that makes sense - I built heavy lances for all 5 houses per the Override Strike Ops. so mostly heavies with a medium or Assault sprinkled in. the Clan is also a Heavy Star (with 1 Elemental point) but 50% larger to allow a 2 on 1 game. the 2 merc units the Gray Death - I just took the Fire Lance straight from the books, and the Eridani Light Horse is a recon lance with some hover tank support. Just a mix of stuff to try out - everything is lore accurate to 3050 and models match the variants (because I'm a huge nerd) - should give the guys options and a good taste of how Override plays compared to Alpha strike and Classic.
When we film/when we release is of course a little separated. Prices have come down a bit since more stuff has flooded ebay. Early on it was a feeding frenzy.

I think this lance pack has the correct speed differences, and mix of mechs for a company to put in a unit box.
