    Hi,
I am travelling to South Africa for 10 days in mid february, from Europe, and was wondering if we need to make any vaccine. Our minister of external affairs says no, but still, i was wondering.
Also, any safety tips? i ve heard such terrible things about crime, theft and we are scared.
We plan to stay one night in JNB, then rent a car, go to kruger park and from there, by plane, to cape town.
Thank you! any tip is helpful. Please share your experience.---------------------------------------------------------

Not safe, however there are plenty of awesome areas to explore but with the risk of getting robbed, mugged or hijacked. So take some precautions and travel in groups with less valuables.

You've probably never been. Never will be? How can you say that...I guess Detroit or Houston will never be safe either since you have a higher chance into running into crime in those cities as well. The key point is staying away from areas with a higher concentration of crime which is what you could do in Joburg as well, dweeb.

Well I do not get out and about. The violence we see on TV is in areas where people wask for trouble I am afraid to say. i detest violence and espcially violence to children and the aged, they need protection and kindness. Do no bother to reply for I feel you know what is wrong then and judt looking to put fear in visitors.
