Thanks for watching everyone! We had such an amazing time exploring South Africa and can't wait to share the rest with you! We're trying out a new style of "series videos" so let us know what you think!
Enjoyed this video .... I'm from SA and its funny because I haven't even left my province/state ever before and it feels like you guys explored more of the country than I ever will😂 anyways glad to see you guys enjoyed yourselves and experienced something new ❤
A short while ago me and my family where on the beach close to the Cape Town waterfront and a penguin came out of the ocean, approached me and brushed up against me. It was an amazing experience
Happy you guys enjoyed your time in our country, as a proud South African you can't go wrong coming here for a vacation and seeing the incredible wildlife here
No u went wrong when u wrote this sa is knows for its beauty and culture sure but have u considered how bad our presidents are at presidenting? 😂 no wait serious , we have something called loadshedding which cuts power for a few hours just bc our presidents steals the money
I’m so happy you got a chance to visit South Africa. I now live in Australia but visit every 2-3yrs. Be warned though, once you’ve experienced an African safari & our people, you’ll be hooked & definitely long to return! 😅
Thank you for making this beautiful video of our country. As a South African it reminds me again of the beautiful country we have and everything I so easily don't notice anymore being in the city. You guys are awesome.
As a south african living in Anchorage and is only home in south africa 2 months a year now, omg i miss Cape Town so so much! Hope you enjoyed your stay in my beautiful country and you are always welcome to come back!
Simon's Town magic. I hope to get back to my favorite country again some day. I am so jealous, but at least I have my memories. Enjoy your time. Hope you make it to the top of the Drakensburgs.
This video is put together so well! Now I’ll have to binge the rest of the series. We just got back from a two week trip to South Africa and it blew us away!
Segwicks Old Brown is actually a sweet sherry, not a liqueur. It's fairly cheap and works well in cooking. Used to be called old brown sherry, but in South Africa we're no longer allowed to call it that due to European Union trade rules.
Thank you for showcasing our Beautiful country in a positive light.... I really enjoyed your Video! If you think you had a great time, come visit us in December, you wont go back to the USA!
The episode format is great! Ok I admit it.. I am an idiot! I thought penguins were mainly in snowy and cold places and I know you said winter but I still thought it would be hot!! 🤦🏻♀️ Matt your filming is really great! It looks so beautiful and yes I need to get out more! Enjoy you two! ❤
Glad you liked the new format! I also thought penguins only lived in snowy areas until I did planned this trip so that was a fun surprise 😅 and it was pretty chilly further south but got toasty on the safari in the sun. I think you’d like South Africa if you were looking for a place to visit!
Our winters are pretty cold, its not very cold but you can still get hyperthermia if you dont dress properly 🤷♂️ I work mainly night shifts and usually wear 2 jackets and a sweater and still get cold👀
Curry is very much ingrained into our very diverse culture. We serve it out of a half loaf of bread and it is called a "bunny chow" (no bunnies inside). So you did nothing wrong by diving into some curry! :)
I hope you went to Anniston a truly beautiful place with wonderful fish and oysters.I have always found the R62 more interesting than the Garden route.Although that said one of my all time favorite beaches is Victoria Bay between Wilderness and George .The other area is the Wild Coast stunning beaches poor roads but wonderful people Mboyti being my favorite.
Enjoyed watching this as a Cape Town-based South African.. You guys mentioned in the vid that you would be here for a month and the video was posted 2 months ago so I assume you guys have already left. Hope you guys had a great time nonetheless 🙂
T=You guys have to have biltong!!! No biltong, no South African food!!! Also, Bobotie, pap and wors, and stake and tjops on a braai!! The stake, with red wine or a good Whiskey, garlic bread and biltong sous (gravy) and a potato or banana salad! The tjops with beer (Windhoek lager), and braai-broodjies (braai sandwich) Yes, the Kruger is a MUST!!!!!! And you have to do the safari's
There are so many better things to do in south africa besides a safari. 90% of people that go on safaris are tourists and I bet 90% of South Africans haven't been on a safari, because there are so many better activities to do.
Yeah I agree there are tons of things to do in South Africa that aren’t safari but that’s what we wanted to do most since we don’t have that kind of wildlife where we’re from.

Heeeeey. Don't be hating on the Old Brown. Ha ha. 😜That's my drink of choice. It's lekker (nice) on a cold Winter's night, but you can also enjoy it in Summer, if you mix it with Sprite. 😉 I do have sweet tooth though. The "strange looking duck" is in fact, a Black Cormorant. 😂
I have never seen someone so excited about seeing penguins 😂 but it's very sweet. FYI: South Africa had the largest population of Indian residents outside of India, so curry *is* South African food

The best time to visit the western and southern Cape in S.A is as far as weather is concerned is February and March. No rain and lots of sunshine!
We would love to visit again in spring or summer!
It's called the Cape of Storms for a good reason.
