Actually no, because of the lenses. The lenses affect the light in such a way as if the screen was far away (otherwise you couldn't see anything). VR headsets are actually less straining on the eyes than smartphones.

@@bigherb it's well known that the lenses of vr headsets make the screen appear around 1.5 to 2 meters away. otherwise it would be horrible and painful to look and cause eye strain. not everything everyone says on the internet needs a source alongside it; and if you really need one you can find what you're looking for on google.

Since there's no motion blur in half life alyx it might actually be worth stabilizing your footage, find a way to record in the highest fov and resolution (WITHOUT UPSCALING) and just hit that bad boy with stock warp stabilizer, or the Vegas equivalent.

Commentary is a definite huge yes. I watched JackFrags play through The Last of Us with commentary. I enjoyed that aspect because I would gain another viewpoint immediately. I also enjoyed just hearing what other people had to say about the game. It's sorta like a review in a way. Also I just think that I've enjoyed so many of your videos that your voice is tied to good memories. I like the upscaling videos enough to watch every one of them, but I'd like to see more comparisons between different upscaling techniques.
I would love a playthrough of this game by you, especially with comentary! I also don't mine if the majority is spent analyzing each and every corner of this game, for some odd reason I love when people really focus on the minutia of game environments. It's usually almost impossible to find playthroughs like that on TH-cam because people fear that viewers will get bored.

One thing that I noticed about this map, is the large glow effect at 9:00. I've checked myself, and it is definitely a large sprite card, but despite its size, it isn't visibly clipping through anything surrounding it. Seems like Source 2 has improved sprite card effects so that they fade away into surrounding surfaces instead of visibly clipping into them. It's a subtle change, but it's a great step up from what Half-Life 2 had.
I've been wanting to see a complete playthrough of Alyx since I probably won't be able to play it for a while, and I think a lot of us would love to see you play it all, although i understand if you would rather play it for yourself
