- This content details the soundsystem upgrade to my Porsche 964 C2.
Includes Blaupunkt Frankfurt bluetooth head unit, 6.5 inch Focal PS 165 SF component speakers in the front doors, 8 inch Focal Active iSub under the drivers seat, and 4 x 6 inch Infinity Reference coaxial speakers in the rear.
I'd call it a mid-level sound upgrade, without cutting or altering the factory sheetmetal...or fitting an additkjonal amplifier in the frunk.
Those Focal speakers really need a dedicated amp. They will be getting sweet FA power from a headunit.
Nice job. I probably should do a sub in mine as most of the bass I hear is the flat 6 type and lots of road noise which I'm planning to tackle later when redoing the carpet. "pack it up, pack it in" Nice.
Cheers, I was also holding out for carpet to do both at the same time, new sound proofing and alike, but my patience got the better of me! That’s next on the ever reducing list….
Hello, enjoyed the video. I'm struggling with an audio upgrade on a < 25k miles 1988 911 (never left the family) in pristine condition. Blaupunkt Reno SQR original factory system with no amp. Need to pass in a fresh power supply to power a Kenwood BT amplifier - have no idea where the best cabin hole is (or any for that matter) to pass in a new power cable from the battery. Any advice would be awesome.
Sounds like a fun project…I don’t have experience with power from the frunk to the head unit, I used the existing wiring loom, and the sub is a direct plug and play into my Blaupunkt head unit. Sorry for the late reply…best of luck with your upgrade….
