that part you are referring to is the igniter, i believe. had mine go out after the engine gets up to operating temp. let it cool down and restart the engine and as soon as it gets to operating temp, the engine cuts off.
Ignition control module is what you replaced. Tachometer runs to it. It also makes it crank. Heat does destroy them. They are $60 from a local auto parts store. You should of replaced the whole thing. Cap can go bad, coil, module, and oil seals.

My cel codes is 8. I look on intrnet and is the top dead center sensor but i have and obd1 p28 ecu. So my question is the problem is in the crank sensor or in the distributor?
You just helped me everything you said thats wrong with the rpms and stuff is going on with my car so im about to buy a new distributor got a website or anything i can buy one from ???
@@louismarchesani2476 try cleaning out the egr passages in the lower intake manifold portion.. you'll have to take out the top, middle and lower portion, then drill through the passages, then clean it out then put it all together. I just did that but havent put it back together yet.
@@louismarchesani2476 forgot to mention that you'll need to buy the 6 passages plugs to cover the drilled part and will have to use a slide hammer to put them in

Not a stock 97-01 prelude distributor. Also you bought a $60 ebay diz...bad choice. Stock prelude diz has external coil. And CPS is on the oil pump.
I have the 97-01 type s h22 in my car and it cuts out when I get into vtec and backfires a lot. What dizzy do I need for it??

Why does your distributor only have one plug ? Isn’t there suppose to be 2 for OBD 2

That's an internal coil so that's an H22 dizzy not an H22A4 dizzy
