And what about the primer ? I use this technic, it removed the paint, but the primer is still here but don't look like before (chaos black), and look like a grey-black paint. I don't know what to do ? Try to remove it with, but how ? Or just put an other thin coat of primer on top of it.
When I did it, it took the primer off with it. If you can't fully get it off that probably fine, as long as it isn't gumming up any details, just do another primer coat over it.
I'm only part way into the video but there's one glaring issue. You said that isopropyl alcohol will melt resin prints. The issue is that most of us that resin print do use isopropyl alcohol to clean the print prior to curing so no it does not melt the print.
One of the reasons IPA works to clean prints is because it *does* dissolve resin. I've heard that once it's cures, it should be safe, though. Remember, I'm talking about giving the figure a bath for an extended period of time. Other resins used to cast pre-made minis may not survive this process.
@@HereticsHeroes I use Elegoo's wash and cure station which completely submerges the print. You really only need to do it for a few minutes but I've had prints in there for extremely long periods of time. I've even had super thin supports just sitting in there for days without any issue.
@@HereticsHeroes i bought them used...looks like acrylic... The dude was using army painter products all the way... Even for the varnish...the one you dip the miniatures in. They don't all have varnish though.
@pimc172 hmm tough to say without knowing exactly what paint they use. As long as you have removed enough that it's not blowing up details you could just prime over them.

Overall this works pretty well. A sonic cleaner is also a good idea for the stuck on paints. One thing to keep in mind is that alcohol won't work on all paints, especially some primers. For instance, if someone primes their models with Krylon, Rustoleum, or Testors, you won't be able to get all of the paint off.
1:01 note that 91% isopropyl will work much better than the lower concentrations.
Next up: Taking it apart and putting the pieces back on the sprue.

One tip, once alcohol down the sink close the sink. Parts do come off
You should probably note to use the 91% Alcohol and not the 70% stuff. It will work but takes more scrubbing and longer soaking.

I used 99% IPA for 24 h and it doesn't come out as clean as that, and super glue is still holding. Any hint?
Did you scrub it afterwards? What type of paint did you use?
