    Looking forward to getting into this and finding some inspiration for my 8x8 NKB in the UK. Was running and used on water including swimming in the Atlantic about 6 years , on the SW coast. Issues with the carb but aim to sort it this autumn.

    To prevent those lines you get on video when using an LED set the light to full power. At lower power settings the flash light pulses the light to reduce the brightness. To our eyes the flickering is too fast to notice but digital cameras can catch the pulses in time with the video frames. It creates a resonance that causes those lines. At full brightness the light is on 100% of the time with no pulsing and wont interfere with the camera frame rate.

    I'm really looking forward to this series. I live in North Dakota and purchased a '97 Conquest with 360 hrs from Northern Manitoba last July. Was finally able to get it down the end of January. I'm going through many of the same systems just as you are. I've also made a number of improvements such as hood latches, upholstered the seats (bear ate them) and storage box with battery box. Looks like we'll be going down the same repairs over the next months. Waiting for your next installment.

      Thanks! Waiting so long for the delivery must have been difficult, I would have myself drove up the wall. I'm trying to have all the bearings replaced and the machine mobile again before the end of the day today, I can't believe how difficult it has been. Getting the idler shafts out and those bearings replaced took me about 5 days after work. If you have any photos or videos of your machine you should post them, I would love to see it!

    I have an ‘86 8x8 I/C Argo. It’s neat to see the differences.

    • @RustRehab
      @RustRehab  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just bought an I/C as well for parts, the differences are smaller than I would have thought, it would be no problem to convert one to the other. I may actually give it a shot

    I do not know if you have found this out by now but on the reservoir the soft top is original and the flat top is a replacement .On the parking break ,the pins that are going outboard should be going inboard so the levers will catch on them. ( I have a '89 ic )

    • @RustRehab
      @RustRehab  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wondered if those pins might have been on there backwards, but I couldnt see a way to move them. Appreciate the advice, I should be able to get the parking break to work now!

    You are gonna want to switch those useless Runamuck tires out. I ran mine 3 years before I gave in & swapped them. They don't swim worth a damn & they are like slicks in mud. I deliberated a long time over this as a set of more aggressive Carlisles for mine would run me nearly 2 grand. In the end I plumber for ITP 22x11.8 Mud Lites costing me just over a grand all i n. They work great! Good in mud & they swim much better than the Runamucks...not that they could swim any worse. Best of all I managed to sell the Runamucks on Kijiji for $70 a tire! By the way, you need a bigger engine for running tracks properly. My Conquest has the 20hp Kawasaki but it is not man enough for tracks which is why they upped the standard to a Kholer 27HP as the smallest option.

    • @RustRehab
      @RustRehab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ended up with a new set of duro tires, much better than the runamucks for sure! I doubt that I'll need a new engine to run tracks though, this one runs fine with tracks as it is, and the 23 horse avenger I use for work does as well. I would only put in a bigger engine if I had a high geared trans. I'm surprised you got the mud lites to swim, a lot of people said they won't swim at all. Have you tried much open water swimming with them?

    • @davidbrewer7937
      @davidbrewer7937 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RustRehab I haven't had it out in water yet but even if it did not swim at all I am no further behind because it would not move in water with the Runamucks anyway, forcing me to resort to rowing & punt poling....that is why I have an outboard on it. I just hate having to jump in the back all the time to run the outboard & I also can't use the outboard in weedy, rooty crap. I also figure that for a machine which spends 95% of its life in slop mud, weed beds & muskeg swimming is low down the priorities for me. This machine is used to pull whole moose weighing up to 1000 lbs out of the back rough up north. It is not really a daily ride...I prefer to walk in to my watch quietly with a bag & gun.
