  • These are the real streets of NW Miami. However they are changing slowly as the rich people are moving into Miami they have set off a chain of events changing Miami streets for ever.

    You're thinking of GTA Liberty City which was a recreation of NYC, no relation to Liberty City, Miami. GTA Vice City is the game's interpretation of Miami

    My husband was in the Coast Guard and stationed in Miami Beach in the early 1980s. A fellow Coastie who was from out of state was seriously injured during a riot when he drove through Liberty City (not realizing where he was) and had a brick thrown through his windshield.

    I really like your video. I live in Jax, Fl but drive to Miami maybe once a month for work...I was Sooo lost...but I've been maybe 10 times now and stay at a different Airbnb every time so kinda learning the city... last week was at Biscayne Park, but drove around Liberty City. I've stayed from Hollywood down to near the zoo, to Cutler Bay... love exploring the diversity of Miami... really shows the HUGE wealth gap in America...

    liberty city is changing or they are at least trying to change it from a hood statues. they kicked many people in section 8 in liberty city and most of them moved to kendal. They are trying to change the liberty city into an art district slowly

      That's wrong. People want to live around others who have criminal records. Property owners should have no choice. They should not discriminate against criminals. Otoh were they really crimes? People change, you know. Hopefully, they put in a morally superior system or morally superior people who govern who would never do such a thing. I mean come on, value life.@@TheFelixRojas

    My cousin was a EMT in an ambulance for a Miami hospital 20-30 years ago, he serviced Liberty City he open carried on each hip, because his rig were fired upon quite often. The local PD years ago told him if they came under repeated fire, he could return fire to protect himself and his patients while trying to leave the area. He's retired now. Safe & happy travels. Glad Liberty City is getting better. 👍

    I remember the brutal beating & horrific murder of German tourist Barbara Jensen Meller in April 1993. It was all over the national news. Tragically, that was the first time that I had heard of Liberty City. The murder happened in Overtown. I remember hearing someone saying: “You’re safer in Hell than the god-forsaken ghetto of Liberty City.” Please stay safe.

    NW Miami of today (Liberty City) looks nothing how it looked 20-25 years ago. A lot of old buildings have been torn down and vacant lots have been filled up with affordable/mixed income apartments now for seniors. They are trying to bring old people into these areas for some reason. Also, a lot of street gangs have been dissolved.

    The game GTA Liberty city is based on New York, not in Miami. Liberty City is a parody of New York City and has nothing to do with Miami. If the rumors are true though, the next GTA game will be based in Miami, which in that game universe it is called Vice City

      Interesting fact. For what it is worth, there are multiple predictions that Miami is overdue for a direct hit from a category 6 hurricane. Just read: “If it happens, it will put Miami on the map while wiping it off earth.” Please stay safe.

      Overtown is the "color town" in Miami. It was one of the prosperous place for black people but when I-95 was built it ruined everything.

      A lot has changed. Liberty City in 2005-2010 was way more rough than it is now.

      well check this out, some places in Florida were white and now are better with latinos. Take North Fort Myers.. the latinos actually made the place better buying old crack houses and fixing them up. now take this town in the oklahoma panhandle.. its was almost going go ghost town now its like 60% latinos.. they SAVED the town.. today any race can improve an area. crap when i lived in RURAL alabama the blacks were much better off than the whites.
