Many people do not know that Rodrigo mourned the abortion of his child, and composed this master piece where the music incarnated the child heartbeat.
My daughter just told me that story isn't it an amazing way to honour his baby ..absolutely love the guitar in it

In her autobiography, Victoria eventually declared that it was both an evocation of the happy days of their honeymoon and a response to Rodrigo's devastation at the miscarriage of their first pregnancy.

This is one of those rare pieces that you can play and have a full emotional reaction to at the same time. Not too difficult to play, but incredibly difficult to express as one in an orchestra. A true masterpiece
