- It's very good and surprising to occasionally get a watch on the channel that doesn't seem to have any weak points..especially at the asking price
This Henry Archer VESTERHAV - AQUILA is one of those watches

Thanks for watching.. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
This watch is 10/10 (even before taking your word for it) from the proportions, craftsmanship, attention to detail, down to the tappering bracelet. Spot on.
Thanks! Took channels forever to start talking about this brand.
I purchased the purple dial verion of the Vesterhav last month. Almost perfect execution in my eyes. Wish it was a 39mm instead of a 40mm case. I think I am going to order the green dial version as well.
Glad to hear you like your purple dial. Because of Peter's enthusiasm for the Henry Archer microbrand, today I preordered the black bracelet Nordsø Tempest Meteorite. The purple is a little over the top for me but with the black bracelet I am excited about the June forecasted delivery.
I'm super glad you brought your intro music back, it's a great little tune, and I associate it with your brand with your channel!! And Henry Archer watches are awesome ❤
Just bought the Vesterhav Raven model! Couldn't agree more, absolutely beautiful!!
Thanks Peter! 🙏
Good choice!..enjoy
Bought one instead of a Pitzman II, also great interface with their customer support! Cheers
I wholey agree with Your commetary. I've owned this exact watch for the past month. It is my new daily watch, retciring my 1986 Rolex Oyster Perpetual. Tremedious value!!
Agreed PK. Great piece. My only gripe is that you can't get one, they've sold out!
Somewhat unfair for me to comment too much on this watch as this is the style of watch I always gravitate to. It truly is a very attractive watch with some really nice features for the price. I think a Jubilee style band would be even more attractive, though that's a totally subjective opinion. Yet another watch to add to my ever growing list of microbrands to watch.
I bought the Raven when it was on preorder. My second Henry Archer….. agree with everything you sun in the review.
Bloody Beautiful! Thanks Peter 🙏🙏
I purchased the purple dial version about one month ago. This watch is a real stunner.🎉
Just received an optic white version, its flawless as you have said and easily punching above its weight.
Great stuff..enjoy 👍
I have this watch, I absolutely beautiful couldn’t be happier. Great customer service.
I’ve the meteorite version. Great watch and great customer service!
Peter I trust your reviews and that review makes this watch shine. Nothing to gripe about??? Can’t be better than that. Thank you!
Yep..huge surprise for me too...honest to goodness little sports watch here as far as I'm concerned..👍
That crown shows the attention to detail you're talking about. Great stuff!
Great brand and super friendly owner/designer. I just picked up a Nordso Diver 👍
congrats..
Oooh - you’ve done it again. Very tempting.
I picked up the raven color way a few weeks ago. Great watch, super versatile and a total GADA.
Very nice. They have some interesting colorways available on their site. The green and purple dials are tickling my fancy.
Mine arrived today. Blue dial Vesterhav. Oi. You weren't kidding. This thing is gorgeous. Got 10% off. I am extremely pleased.
Brilliant..enjoy it and wear it in good health and a big smile 😊
how you like it so far?
@@mrlee4579 pleased beyond belief. I have more expensive watches and I reach for this one first
Great video again Pete, A Henry Archer is on my list to collect and this looks great!
Beautiful watch for the price.. love the videography, grey dial is very pretty too..
Well done watch all round, I’m sold 👍
You just answered my question for last 3 years who is the next CW, as CW prices saw big increases without adding more values. As good as Bel Canto is it doesn't make a 50% more expensive Trident any better.
exactly, CW has been increasing prices like crazy. The 12 starts out at like $1250 now.
Hi Pete. Nice watch, I prefer the raven version🖤. Their watches have beautiful dial colors, like Di Renzo for example. It's a shame there aren't more models with dates. Thank you for the discovery of a Scandinavian brand that is worth the detour. 😉👍
Got as soon as it dropped Peter. Great production as usual!
Now this is a gada watch, I’m going to get the pinky purple one
Hi Peter,I want one,looks stunning....love it.
Remarkable specs and quality for the price .
I really appreciate you crown analysis - something really noticable as an owner but not always reviewed
Like you said the specs are close to being ideal. IMO 38mm would be better. I'm guessing this case may be the case of another 40mm Henry Archer but with a sterile bezel. That said, I have two Henry Archer Akva and look forward to adding the GMT recently released and others down the road. They are superb pieces and my interaction with the company/brand has been very positive.
Great dimensions and unique design. If you ever get the akva ocean cyan version let me know. Only gripe I can think of is that it is not a screw down case back.
Excellent review Peter! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Got a purple on the way
The tide is really attractive to me and is in the ballpark of the marshes bayous and lakes around me
This and the trafford crossroads are the watches I’d be most likely to buy a second one in a different color of
I have 3 Henry archer watches and they are all fantastic.
I believe you..I have experienced two now and both have been impressive 👍
I agree with your review. My VESTERHAV Tide is gorgeous. Waiting for the AKVA Optic White to arrive Wednesday 🤗
Nice..enjoy 🔥
Great review and I totally agree with your thoughts. I've been telling all my acquaintances how good this watch is. One thing you didn't mention is the mirrored inner case wall which again is a very nice touch and adds an extra dimension to the aesthetic.
I thought the footage would demonstrate the mirrored rehaut..it looks superb for sure
I have a HA watch and I just love it, fit, finish, quality and price point are really good. Great review as always, keep doing what you do Peter!
Thanks Statler, will do!
Good looking watch and for the price, it’s a steal! Great review as always.👌🏼
Couldn't agree more Peter! I own 4 HA watches with Number 5 is on the way. Great design and build quality and terrific customer service!
I was pleasantly surprised by this..
Well, well, well, you showcase this one as if you knew what photography should be … 😉
I JUST bought another watch that looks like this one but this one seems to be so much of a better « bang-for-your-buck » type of watch.
… at that price, I may stretch my budget a little and get one for myself! (Damn you Peter!! 😅)
Sorry brother...didnt mean to upset the bank balance..discipline is the key here 😊
@@PeterKotsa 😉👍🏻
The day Peter will take a look at a San Martin, I’ll do a backflip.
hahaha
Got my purple one in today and wow
Really hard to believe what you get for $500
I got the green one coming in Friday
Hahaha...ENJOY 😊
@@PeterKotsa I will!
I’m gonna put the purple on an orange lizard skin strap
The green reminds me of the Louisiana wetlands and to complete the effect I’m gonna put an aqua leather strap on it from b&r bands
I saw Hank, I click, I watch until the end. Still the proud owner of only Hank exist in Thailand.
Peter, you're making me re-think my decision to get a Lorier Falcon with this video.
So @HenryArcher, well chosen and well done.
Oops..sorry 😊😂
@@PeterKotsa 🤣 all good, mate.
Slightly, just slightly, on the fence with the powder blue accents but what a sweet looking watch, with spot on dimensions. Spookily enough, I'd been looking at one earlier and this might have swung the deal. Great review, Peter.
I like blue dials because 90% of my clothes is dark blue.
If Henry Archer starts to raise prices, we know who to blame. 😶🌫️
Ouch.....sorry 😊😂
@@PeterKotsa *eyes on you* 😁
This brand is near the top of my wishlist. My biggest issue is deciding which one to get first. 😂
😂
Great review... Thx...
Thanks for watching!
It’s a beautiful field watch, but it isn’t a dive watch. Good video. Congrats dude☝️
Thanks! 👍
Hello Peter. I was thinking that I do not want any other sport-chic watch at this price range except the one I have, my beloved PRX P80. But you perhaps changed my mind at this point ... Perhaps ... By the way, I agree about Christopher Ward, for example, and to keep talking about sport-chic watches, their Twelve is way too expensive.
Its perfect, it has all that a really good watch shall have 😍👏🏻👏🏻
Was gonna get the CW12 but you gave me torn now 🤔
Great video Peter! How does this compare to the Tuseno Windseeker? I see a lot of similarities! Cheers!
I think this wears a little better than the Tuseno on the wrist..(on my wrist anyway)
Looks wise, I prefer the Windseekers dial design..😊
I was going to ask the same question and figured I would scroll the comments first. Perhaps Peter thinks the HA wears a little better due to the clasp? The dimensions of the watch are very similar. The Windseeker is a mm smaller.
Great review, Peter! I like this watch: specs seem perfect. How does the lume compare to Seiko divers?
Seiko Divers are absolutely superb..top level as far as Im concerned...but for a sports watch this is darn good and not trailing too far behind 🔥
Thank you for your great reviews. Could you comment on how this stacks up to the Tusenö Windseeker? They seem similar in dimensions and design, with the sporty flat brushed bezel, 39/40mm width, 10.5mm height and the lot. The only major spec difference I noticed is the 200m WR on this one compared to the 100m on the Tusenö. As you've handled both I'm very curious on how they compare (since I like the more discreet dials of the Tusenö more). Looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks again!
I thin k it comes down to personal choice here..
Both watches are very good, some prefer the Sellita over the Miyota, others the opposite.
I think the lume on the HA is better that the Tuseno as is the clasp on that bracelet. However the Tuseno also has a beautiful dial
So end of the day, whats more important and what ticks the most boxes for each of us is individualistic
Best of luck 😊👍
@@PeterKotsa thank you for taking the time to reply. This was what I was hoping for; not one leagues ahead of the other. But it's a shame the Tuseno doesn't come with half-links because there the HA definitely has an edge (although they might have fixed that when they release their new colors, I'm not sure on this). But what this comparison mainly means, at least to me, as you already stressed in the video: the HA is great value for that low of a price. The Tuseno is around 250 EUR more expensive, while not bringing 250 EUR worth of additional value to the table. I'll need consider what I personally value most, because it's not always about bang/buck, but it definitely plays a part.
I badly want one!
Peter, shhhhhh. 🤫 Don't give them any ideas. Some of us haven't bought one yet.
hahaha
@@PeterKotsa you have caused preemption in what I would consider my list of next purchases. I've heard of Henry Archer before but until today, I had no idea. All of a sudden, this is getting pushed towards the top of the list.
@@TheTrueHasenfeffer if you find a colourway that works for you..its a pretty good deal 👍
TA Mate! Sold.
I think its a great deal personally, well done 👍
Awesome video. Not many reviews of this out there.
I’ve been debating this or a Traska watch. Any thoughts on quality/finishing between those two?
I’ve never handled a Traska in the hand
More and more difficult to choose in all micro brand, between 300$ to 1500$ there is million of choice, its more dificult to find under 300$,for me its phoibos who impose his price and style...san martin began too expensive
Hi Peter, will this watch be making it into your 8 microbrand watch collection? Thanks for the review
Not sure...its a perfect in its technical execution, but not sure what to knock out of that 8 to put this in..😊
This is a nice looking watch. Honestly, I feel like watches that house that Miyota movement can’t creep too far above that $500 to $600 mark.
But maybe I’m becoming curmudgeonly in my old age. I just found out Marathon is asking $1800US for a GSAR…
Nothing wrong with a 9000-series. Equally good as a SW200-1 or a 2824
@@Emaratilfy Not saying that there’s anything wrong with the movement… there’s about a $75 to $100 US difference in price for the movement. Because of that, there is a price differential between watches that have a Miyota 9x movement and ones that have a SW2x movements.
Looks like a quality and solid built watch with good finishing. How would you compare it to the Monta Noble or Triumph?
The Monta Noble is a lovely watch and the finishing was on a higher level...but so too was the price tag
On my 18cm wrist, they both wear identical
I owned a Nordso watch by HA. Although it was not bad it did not catch me. Had a hard time selling it - took me half a year to find someone for 50 % of the retail price.
Yes, unfortunately that's the issue with many microbrands...resale value
I would want a smaller diameter. 37mm would be perfect.
just a tad too big...put this out as a 38 and oh man, real value for money here
I absolutely agree with you mate. The watch is just beautiful and well designed. Danish design has a good reputation all over the world for a good reason.
Its very good Alex, I was pleasantly surprised 👍
Now, I know Henry Archer is very good for the price, because I own a Nordso. Yet, even though I know that, I wasn't quite ready to hear such high praise for the brand, even if that is for this Vesterhav in particular. So, as an owner, you've made me feel like I may be missing a trick, possibly because I haven't bonded with that watch as I hoped I would. This could be to a large extent to do with the fact it was my first experiment with divers. In many ways, the stylistic signature that made the diver attractive to me, I don't find equally attractive in this dressier Vesterhav. While the design language stays very consistent Henry Archer gives lots of choice in colour schemes, many of which very strong and attractive. Sometimes I wish there were a few less versions available or a line wouldn't be so quick to get updated and diversified with ever more colours, but that's a really minor gripe. I keep following the brand, because even if I may not bond as much with the Nordso, Henrik seems to go from strength to strength and at his current prices that is commendable.
Hey Ben, I think for me, when a watch wears this good and does everything just right...its an easy experience and worthy of some praise. These two watches from Henry Archer that I have experienced have achieved this nicely in all areas...
my 2 cents worth bro 😊
Looks really beautiful. I really wonder about its accuracy. The 42 hour power reserve is a bit underwhelming. Apart from it, it really does look great.
It's not available in Germany, so it seems.
That really is a very classy watch ❤ As you say it really seems to have all bases covered. Blue is my favorite colour however.. I never thought id be saying this .. watched reviews of the Pink dial.. its is Absolutely stunning!😮😊😅
I'm thinking young guy.. cool casual dress.. perhaps suiting darker complexions..would be what they used to call 'a chick magnet'...😇😍🤗😎
I'm an old guy but think it would even get me a few smiles? Pink ??? Check it out.
🤫😋💘🙏
I'm really glad I can't afford any luxuries at the moment, cus if I could, I'd buy that right now. That thing is damn near perfect.
Yeah, I've got a few personal style quiggles, id like the bezel to be slightly smaller, a little bit more dial... Ideally I'd like a little bit finer control on the bracelet on the fly adjustments, but that's about it lol.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I think you nailed it with the CW reference on the early days of CW. I bought most of my CW's in that $500-700 USD range, now the same basic watches are 900-1100. I really do think that Miyota is the way to go for a lot of these companies. They're every bit as good of a movement as the 2892 and 2824, for 1/5 the cost, and allows the watch manufacturer to focus on spending money on things like fit and finish.
If I could only buy 1 of the Henry Archer watches, which one would you say is the best?
Rather than thinking of it as the "Best"..maybe ask yourself which on would suit your lifestyle?
A diver? a sports watch?..etc
From what I have handled they seem to be made very well indeed
I can´t understand why they offer for 499 $ and in Europe is 569 eur (620 US $), they suppose to be danish, so... this is very anoying
maybe it's the EU VAT thing?
@@chickenporkadob0you mean there are no taxes in the USA?
What’s a Vesterhav??
Very nice. Two things I would nitpick about it, 1) it is not a sports watch, 2) a perfect clasp wouldn’t have a gap between the ends and the bracelet - very few brand get this right
God help me I'm down the vintage 🐰 rabbit hole 😧
Thats a long journey that requires deep pockets full of spare cash when things go wrong...beware brother 😊😂
I just bought a 14kt Longines Birth year watch for me.1953
That blobby metallic sticker logo, just kills it for me. Cheapest Aliexpress watches use the same thing.
To be fair, doesn't look that bad, but knowing what it is, and that they are the cheapest alternative for most drop shipped watches, i'm not sure why they went for this option, when the rest is finished to a high degree.
My main gripe is the shiny logo, which reminds me of the Zelos one and it's a bad thing, it just looks so cheap.
Nice enough but there are many good microbrands around this price which do a good job. I find your superlatives extravagant but I promise to repeat them if they send me a free watch too. 😉
Fair dues as to the quality, still a lump of cash though, but why would you choose this when, subjectively, the looks are vanilla. Is it bringing anything new to the table setting or just perfectly made cutlery.
Hey Ben, sometimes a little vanilla is ok..safe...but as you said, yes its well made for sure
Hard to argue with what you have said, but subjectivity speaking, the logo and model name on the dial detract from this watch in my opinion.
I hate the name of the watch, the brand name, and the name printed on the dial. But other than that, the watch looks amazing. Definitely getting Monta vibes from this one.
What's with these guys whining about 40mm watches being too big?... 36 or 38 would be ideal, they say!!!. It wasn't so long ago everybody was sporting G-Shocks with zero complaints. Even a standard Promaster diver comes in 44mm.
I agree - 36mm is like a toy watch.
36 looks goofy on my wrist. People are wild
I’ll go 39mm at the smallest but I’d need to love the watch! My preference is between 40-42.5/43 max
They got girly wrists!
It's almost like different people have different sized wrists. Crazy.
I think that it looks great and if you want to send me yours that would really be awesome also great video
For me, Henry Archer's bracelets are actually a significant weak point of their watches. Long story short, the long links and short range of micro adjustment means the on the fly adjustment will be functionally useless for some. Some people will have to wear the watch loose until their wrist swells.
Ignoring their bracelet, their watches are fantastic.
I am confused by your comment. I have a Henry Archer Nordso with on the fly adjustment. There are 4 slots which equal a 1/4 link each. How could anyone not get a good size? I have many many different bracelets and the Nordso one I can fine tune the best. ... on the fly.
@@briand312 It's a bit tricky to explain and tricky to understand if you haven't experienced the issue. This issue may not be present on all of their bracelets but it's present with their three link bracelet (like on the watch in this video).
The clasp HA use has a pretty short range of micro adjustment (despite the size of the clasp). When this is combined with a long link like their three link, it can create problems for some wrist sizes.
When you size a bracelet with an OTF adjustment clasp, you ideally want to size your bracelet so that your adjustment is more closed than open. This way, when your wrist swells, you are able to let the adjustment out to maintain a comfortable fit.
If you close the micro adjustment and the bracelet is too small, you have to put another link in. You put another link in but the bracelet is now a bit too loose so you take the link out. The only way you can make your bracelet larger is to let the micro adjustment out but you have to let the micro adjustment all the way out to get a comfortable fit.
This is fine for now but your wrist is cold and your micro adjustment is all the way out. Once your wrist swells you're either going to have to take the watch off or have an uncomfortable watch.
if the adjustment range is longer than the length of a link, this should never be a problem.
Because of the link size and meagre adjustment range in the clasp, some people are going to find their cool fit is at the end of the adjustment range and 'on the fly adjustment' is effectively not a feature they can use.
It looks like a $300 watch. Might be different in hand.
My only gripe is that these videos aren’t label as advertisements. Includes Paid Content could be a lot of things, advertisements should be clearly labeled as such.
There is one point that I don’t like. It’s one that I dislike with watches at all (with very few exceptions) but with those with standard movements in particular. I‘m talking about the visible movement.
I don't know whether to thank you or mourn the loss of $500 USD. Given the current rate of inflation, I want to thank you for saving me from the Federal Reserve! At least now, I've acquired something of value that my wife likes. :))
😂😂😂..
@@PeterKotsa Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Tudor... it's about time you reviewed something great and of even better value! :))
ok...done..the NEXT video will be a beauty for sure...watch this space 😊@@InGratitudeIam
Its a beautiful watch and good value for money. But I dont understand why people need to say that it should be worth $1000 or $2000. I am pretty sure if this watch with these specs was even $800+ not many would touch it.
Not that I intended to bash you or the channel, I truly enjoy your videography and reviews in general.
Thats en excellent comment Emmanuel and nothing taken personally..
The reasons I made the statement in the video is because I have handled micro-brands that are twice and even three times the price of this and honestly on a surface level you couldn't tell the difference.
That said, do I believe those micro-brands were too expensive?..yes and I have said that is certain videos...so at the end of the day, this is a great deal at the 499 mark and probably easily fetch 700 or even 800 as you say...
Thanks for the cooment 👍
Agreed. Not all of us are movement snobs. Love getting a nice watch without a pricey movement. @@PeterKotsa
really nice watch, for sure. Maybe would've worn a little better if it were 38/39mm? Looks like it wears bigger than a 40
No room for improvement???
How about getting an adult movement?
Zelos gets you the LJP 100 with 70 hrs power reserve for a couple hundred more.
Watches like this are like someone selling a clone BMW 7 series, and you pop the hood and find a lawnmower engine underneath.
Id rather not pay $300 more for an "adult" movement. Movements are so overrrated it's not even funny.
