Bought my first Armada in January 2004, three months after its inital debut. Twenty-one years later, i just may be getting this bad boy!! Love the look if this.❤
I remember in 2004 the Armada coming out and looked like an impressive beast. Back then Tahoe, Expedition were so boring and had no looks to them at all. I use to love the short hood and boxier back or earlier armada. I currently have a 2022 pathfinder and I see subtle DNA of armada and earlier Xterra in the new pathfinder.
I agree with you, it sure do look better than the QX80. The Aramada is more masculine, more upright and has more presence than the QX80. This is the best looking full-size, body-on-frame SUV.

Not a fan of Yota's design language. Pretty sure they will be cheaper on the lower trims as well. I don't care for ANY of Yota's new TNGA platform trucks or their new CEO for that matter. He is driving that brand into the ground.
Maybe because the last and new gen are based off the Nissan Patrol, but I've always felt the Armada was more luxurious and refined compared to the Sequoia. The Sequoia gives me Volkswagen Atlas vibes where it's made specifically for the NA market compared to the Touareg, akin to Sequoia vs Land Cruiser which is a global product.
well if its built-in japan you better get it now before January 2025 because if trump gets into office a lot of these Japanese or European vehicles will either be cancelled in the American market or so incredibly more expensive then a American suv its wouldn't be worth buying due to the tarrifs that will be put on those products

Nissan brought in the Patrol Y62 platform to the US only a few years ago, and even then for some reason didn’t bring in the serious 4WD and infotainment goodies that were included in the Asian and Australian versions of the ‘Trol until later.

The new Armada has some hints of the Chevy Tahoe with the square like headlights and the taillights. Otherwise , it looks amazing, especially in that color combo.
I like the design. It would be nice if these car companies would work in some sort of hood or surround around these large instrument panel screens. The interior does look great.
They were doing that, but they moved away in favor of these very wide LCD’s so that seems to be the design trend of choice right now without any sort of surround

I must say that this new Armada is brawny and beautiful. Im a gm guy and it looks like the 2015-2020 generation gmc yukon ( my fave). Interior is gorgeous on this Armada as is the space. The bad… a twin turbo V6. Wish there was the old V8. Out of the competition’s twin Turbos the nissan would get my vote as it just looks amazing and powerful from the exterior.
I have allot more trust with Nissan engines then with Toyota's failed attempt at induction. Nissan just doesn't make bad motors. And the Daimler benz 9 speed is proven. Its roots go back to around 2013. I'm not convinced GM has fixed their transmission and lifter issues. The 5.3 and 6.2 from around 2006 or older were such great motors. It's nice GM still offers the V8 but with cylinder deactivation that's a hard pass. I do believe they offer baby max diesel as an option and that is a decent engine Their 2.7 turbo is also a good design. But if you end up with a lemon from GM the service and support is really bad. So many have left that brand over the years.
Outside USA, the Y63 Nissan PATROL (rebadge as armada in USA) is the killer of "Land Cruiser" 300 Series, Way way better in every aspect vs the Toyota Land Cruiser.
Please don't tout the motor until there's some real world mileage on it to support an opinion on it. As for me, I'll stick with my 2023 Armada Platinum Edition 4x4 with the plain old 5.6 liter, NA, V8 that is tried and true. That motor has been flawless to date.
See this is what automakers don't seem to understand. We don't care if a tiny V6 or 4 cylinder or whatever makes as much power, or more power, than a V8. We DON'T care. We don't want tiny overstressed engines even if they have high HP, cause they'll fall apart the moment the warranty runs out. We want low revving 6 liter V8s that will last a long time.

Agreed. I'd call it a Sequoia killer, maybe. Tahoes and Yukons still dominate this segment with no signs of letting up. Ford Expedition is comfortably in the #2 spot, and they are getting a redesign this year too. Everyone else is fighting for a distant #3. That said, this is a nice effort by Nissan. I think it has a good chance to beat out Sequoia and Wagoneer and take the #3 spot.
You miss the point, we don’t care about more power and more torque at 2000 rpm’s 99.9% of the time. We don’t want a $10,000 turbo repair bill at 100,000 miles.
Turbos aren’t 10k lmao maybe half of that at most. At 2,000 rpm you will still feel the torque due to it being twin turbo(smaller turbo spools up first). As long as you stay on top of regular maintenance you shouldn’t have turbo issues for at least 150k miles.
@@eriksotelo3I'm sure that was not to be taken literally at 10k. Just the idea of problems/repairs all too soon. Some of us in the industry know well the expense of replacing a turbo(s), depending on how they are designed/installed.
You're not going to need to replace turbo's that often, im a technician and barely replace turbos. Only high speed junkies and abusive users. More likely
For a country that’s going on over 50 years of a baby bust. We sure are marketed a lot of “family SUVs“. I hardly ever see any large American families anymore. They should just mark them as SUVs and people will buy them because they are a lot of fun to own.

@@skurukutoykinda like Hyundai and Kia, Nissan can be pretty hit or miss. Also if proper maintenance is done, sometimes they last 100K-200K miles without severe problems

Just when the redesigned Armada and Expedition were starting to catch up, they did a big refresh for 2025 and set the bar higher. The Tahoe's only serious competition is the Yukon, so GM is winning either way. If there is one thing GM is good at, it's making full size SUVs.
Actually mitsubishi is only buying back some of the stocks that nissan purchased like 10% so they are only buying there own company back so now nissan owns 25% and nit 35% of mitsubishi. Think of it as a repayment.

There is zero chance that Nissan's' very conservative management would venture back to full size. Zero. Only reason we still have the armada is it a big seller in Australia as the Patrol. If not for that the Armada would have died along with the Titan. You better believe it.

Nah... the Tahoe still rules the segment with an iron fist. But this is much improved over the previous Armada. It gives the Sequoia a kick square in the nuts, but the Tahoe is still king... especially with the 2025 refresh. Good effort by Nissan though, I must say.

The hood should have a more slope it. I’m tired of the charcoal interior of different brands using and calling it black😔.The interior should have carried more of the seat color throughout the interior. Cheaper out on climate control. Screen sits back to far safety hazard when driving. Love the seat pattern and color of them
Nissan is dumping a lot of money into redesigning their vehicles. Good for them! Some aren’t my taste but I respect them trying. The Armada is nice. They should’ve given the Titan the same redesign and given it one more generation to see if it would get traction. This design may have done it.
Nissan got it right with the Armada and completely failed with the Murano. They should have fine with similar design language for the Murano. I have a 2021 Murano and I get compliments all the time. The older model looks better than the new one outside.

Nah... the Tahoe still rules the segment with an iron fist. But this is much improved over the previous Armada. It gives the Sequoia a kick square in the nuts, but the Tahoe is still king... especially with the 2025 refresh. Good effort by Nissan though, I must say.

No diesel or v8 no purchase. GM offers v8 and 3.0l diesel. One on order with 3.0l diesel.
The diesel probably is the best option, as the 5.7 and the 6.2V8 have cylinder deactivation.

The hood should have a more slope it. I’m tired of the charcoal interior of different brands using and calling it black😔.The interior should have carried more of the seat color throughout the interior. Cheaper out on climate control. Screen sits back to far safety hazard when driving. Love the seat pattern and color of them
Nissan is dumping a lot of money into redesigning their vehicles. Good for them! Some aren’t my taste but I respect them trying. The Armada is nice. They should’ve given the Titan the same redesign and given it one more generation to see if it would get traction. This design may have done it.

Nissan got it right with the Armada and completely failed with the Murano. They should have fine with similar design language for the Murano. I have a 2021 Murano and I get compliments all the time. The older model looks better than the new one outside.
