Dear teacher , James! You can’t imagine how happy I’m, now, when i finally found out the way(method) of learning phrasal verbs- there hundreds of them and I was looking for the root of their origin, how and why they are working together with particles such: off, out, up...and you have completely explained everything: I was asking native speaker many times but they couldn’t explained - what was the bottom of it (the foundation of them)thank you very much! Keep doing your wonderful job! We , English language learners really appreciate this!!
I set off in the morning. My wife scares me off to go to work. My boss tells me off all the time and threatens to write me off. I am so pissed off to the point that I want to jump off the bridge then it came the brilliant idea of just making off with the company's money. I become rich and all my colleagues would say how could he pull that off?
I have other examples: - Guys, I need to buzz off right away because I am too late. - Earlier, my friend used to drop off at the wheel while driving. Hhhhhhhhhh. To sum up, there is a bunch of phrasal verbs . This is set, I hope you've enjoyed my examples. You're a good teacher. Particularly, you're used to teaching amazingly. Keep it up 💪. Good on you. You've really excelled at this lesson.
James, thank you for your clear and unconventional explanation of wide range of topics, it has helped me to pass the B2 test required for the job I am applying for
WOW! I finally took in this lesson... Yours is the best teaching method ever! "How did you pull that off? Nobody else could do it, but you could, because you're special!" My hat is OFF to you! :)
Congratulations! This is by far the best lesson on phrasal verbs I've ever have. And it was so much fun! Please, keep adding close captions to your videos, they are very, very helpfull. Greetings from Northern Spain!
"Off" phrasal verbs are the most difficult for a French speaker, because there's no equivalent in French of the preposition "off". For example, "nous buvons dans un verre", "nous mangeons dans une assiette", whereas you drink off a glass and eat off a plate. So, I'll have to watch you video over and over again till I don't even have to think about the meaning of those f****** "off" phrasal verbs. Thank you for the quality of your work.
I have been leraning English for 5 months and i have just found your videos unintentionaly :-) i like them so much and i hope that i will watch all of them.you are doing a great job.thanks a lot for all of them teacher:-)
I wish I was in your english class when I was learning english I would have learned so much faster. You make learning English so much easier and fun. You are great instructor.
Man you're the best teacher out there ! I'm very happy to have found (and follow) your channel. I hope you don't take it bad, but you are so spontaneous that remind me so much Tupac Shakur. Love from a brazilian guy fan.
Good phrasal verb class, showing us this kind of example is gonna be easier to memorize this kind of subject. I'm brazilian and that is the best way to me, when it comes to learn.
I loved this video. Off also means unusual behavior. For example, when a usually vibrant person doesn't speak much in a day, their colleagues can say (he/she) is off.
Excellent video on phrasal verbs. You are right when you said that understanding the adverbial particle it is easier to understand the phrasal verbs. Besides, this topic is very important and phrasal verbs are used a lot in conversation and thanks to you and all the wonderful english teachers that EngVid.com has this topic called phrasal verbs is understood better and better for the benefit of a lot of english students around the world. James, keep on teaching phrasal verbs.

Yep, he's a good teacher. By the way do not say, "You are good to teach", because that is saying that you're teaching him as if he is your student. Say "You are really good to learn from." I am really sorry if you feel offended by this comment. My goal is just to show you the correct way to express yourself. Have a good day. :)
