    The good stuff continues. That is a GREAT tip on feeding the fuel line through the engine shroud. I'm definitely gonna use that! Looking forward to the first start!

    Great job cleaning up the carb, replacing the hoses, and starting the tank cleanout process. Your sister won't notice...if she does, she may be thankful for the color added to her cleaner. It could now be used as green nail polish! 😂

  • @philhermetic

    When you have a carb off it is a good idea to get a bit of plate glass or a surface plate if you have one and put a piece of fine emory or wet and dry paper on it and rub the carb flange on it, keeping the flange flat on the paper. You will find that often the nuts holding the carb on have been over tightened and the flange is warped. You can get a situation where with the carb refitted and tightened it is possible to slide a thin feeler gauge between the carb and the engine, and this leaks air in and makes the engine really bad to start, keep rubbing the carb on the sandpaper till the whole flange cleans up and is flat again. You can sometimes check the flange with a straightedge and feeler gauge. Another good video Joseph! Have a look around your local petrol stations, some still sell E5 as well as E10.
    Phil

      @GardenTractorBoy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tip. This is something we have have done on the carbs on Wisconsin engines as they seem to warp in most places. We can still get E5 here but it is Super Unleaded and more expensive. Take care

    We use to use pennies in tanks to slosh around to help clean. Just wondering if you checked the fuel pump for dirt.
    Great video as always Joseph. I never knew that Tecumseh’ could have a fuel pump. My MF 12 tractor with a HH120 Tecumseh doesn’t have a fuel pump.

    • @GardenTractorBoy

      Thanks, good idea to use pennies, we have put small stones in the tank to do the same job in the past. We did check the fuel pump, not sure if it was on camera. We have Tecumseh HH120 engines in a number of Bolens tractors and none of them have a fuel pump either. Take care

    you are taking a big chance filching your sisters stuff, girls are meaner than boys are , you know? lol that fuel hose through the cooling shroud would be very hard to do other than the way you did it unless you wanted to take the shroud off.

    Hello Joseph, your videos are very interesting. Got a tractor with a snowblower as a gift. I don't know much about it, but I want to fix it and drive it. Unfortunately, you can no longer read a lot and I don't know what year I was built. I could only read model number 1055 and serial number 0103817. For the engine model number HH100-115181D and serial number 3071. Can you please help me? LG.from Austria

    • @GardenTractorBoy
      @GardenTractorBoy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks 👍 It is great to get a message from a bolens owner in Austria. Snow blowers are a rare attachment this side of the Atlantic. The model number 1055 is for a Bolens G10 and the first two digits of the serial number are also part of the model number, making yours a 1055-01. The 1055-01 was made in 1973 and 1974. The model number for the engine confirms that this is the original engine or if it has been replaced it was replaced with the correct one. I believe the engine serial number identifies the age. The first number is the year but you have to estimate the decade - 3 = 1973 and the next 3 numbers are the day it was made with 001 being 1st Jan. Engines were often made 2/3 month before the tractor but I believe this confirms your tractor was made in the first year of 1055-01 production - 1973. I am happy to help you where I can getting this working again, let me know what you have tried doing so far. It may be easier to send me an email (my email address is in the about tab). A picture of the tractor would be great. Take care
