I saw him many times for the Christmas concert in Hilo, and no one would leave until he sung this song! The power, the clarity, the MANA! It brings tears to my eyes and what the locals say "Chicken skin, brah". The master has moved on, but his music lives forever.
And I thought the original was stirring…until I seen this 2 weeks ago. HANDS DOWN BEST RENDITION EVERNo matter what time of year, I always come back to THIS rendition. I appreciate the entire arrangement, the dynamics of his voice and his guitar, how he crescendos then pulls back. So deep it literally stirs up my soul and gets me so emotional. I am not one for emotions, BUT this rendition right here will bring me to tears. RIP Unko Willie K ❤ no one will ever take your place. I was there! I was dancing salsa by the right side of the stage when he played Katchi Katchi Music Makawao. After it ended, I went to shake his hand outside of the venue and he wouldn't shake my hand but pulled me in and gave me a big hug. I was making plans to see him in concert in Cerritos, Ca. in June of 2020 for my birthday but it got cancelled because he passed. So grateful I got to watch this very talented man in concert, One of the best shows I have ever been to. R.I.P. Bruddah Willie. Oh Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song.
