    Awesome job, I rather watch your videos than cable tv 👍

      Thanks. I’m trying to get better at filming and editing. I took a few steps backwards on this one. Filming outside and away from my shop was a new experience. Hopefully, I’ll continue to get better, with more practice.

    It run’s like a ct70 can’t kill those motors either. Great project Mike.

    Truly looking forward to this, Mike. I had a '61 Greenbrier in high school and loved it (as did my friends who would borrow it to take dates to the drive-in). After my van, I was lucky enough to be gifted a '66 Monza coupe and to this day (tho long gone, thru a trade for a VW bus) it remains one of my favorite cars. Again, thank you for all the great videos.

      Thanks. I started with a 65 140hp Monza, in the late 80’s. I had a 66 with a 110hp. This is my first FC Corvair.

    That really brought back memories of my Corvair days.

      Thanks Mike. I’m excited to jump on this project. It’s been in storage and waiting for a long time.

    I had a 63. Liked how it drove. Never saw the eight door model before. Cool.

      Apparently, not many of the 8 door models made.

    With the nice flat floor space and being low to ground, it looks like the ideal “buggy” for transporting ‘MiniBike Mike’s Garage Creations’ !!
    Just one suggestion… the “suicide knob” could be clamped to the inside of the steering wheel to make it less suicidal! … my father used to do that on our cars, back in the day.

    Engine sounds great.

      Not too bad. I ran it for a bit today, I’ll be curious to see how many oil spots are on the floor tomorrow.

    Man she’s a runner…and it looks really solid too!!! What’s going on with the blue Chevy van off to the left side??? 👀👀👀

      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. The other van is a 66 Chevy. 283 and 3 on the tree. It’s just one of a few more projects in storage.

    I have a corvair powered dune buggy with a 3spd manual .l got rid of the mechanical fuel pump and put a electric pump on worked great

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once the van was hauled to my shop, I threw on an electric one as well, so I could drive it around to move it. I’ve ordered a replacement stock style.

    Corvairs were a great concept. My 67 Monza 2 dr was great. Until i wanted to drive up a steep hill...

    Alternators were standard in 1963 in all GM makes except Canadian market Pontiacs.

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t speak for all GM vehicles, but I’m pretty sure the Corvairs did not get an alternator until the 1965 models.

    Cool little van and I bet that low deck height is good for moving mini bikes. Do people put Subaru engines in them at all like they do old air cooled VW's ?

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m just digging into the options for different mods and engines. I’d be really surprised if the Subaru swap wasn’t a popular swap. My son has considered that route for his Porsche 914.

    What ever You do don't cut that Corvan up to try & make into a truck. This 95 Corvan is pretty rare being a 8 door, & also a deluxe model ; That being said the only thing that is wrong with it is someone put a car engine it. Also that is a Power- Glide 2 speed trans. Very unusual for a Corvan; I'm surprised that it did not come with a radio seeing how it is a deluxe model. One other thing make sure if your going to drive more often to hook up the trans. cooler. the battery size you need is from a Honda Civic I believe from the 80's. I have a 64 Greenbrier Deluxe; I'd have to look at it to tell exactly what size it is; That will fit in the battery compartment. I'm going to sub. just to follow along.

      Thanks for the info. If you’re going to be disappointed in seeing it chopped up, you might not want to subscribe. 🤣 It’s a panel van that runs, drives, etc and I picked it up dirt cheap. It has very little value to me. And hey, when I cut it, the others will be even more rare. 👍🏻

    Any chance you have a good cylinder head for a 1979 ct70 you would like to sell

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I’m not a parts supplier. I learned a long time ago, never sell a part, because that we instantly be the next part you need.

    • @jkiddstown05
      @jkiddstown05 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MiniBikeMike no worries....ordered one online and its to small the piston makes contact with the head and the original one has a spark plug hole that is stripped and heli coiled, and the heli coil is stripped guess the previous owner drilled the hole to big lol back to finding a suitable head on ebay....maybe the second time is the charm.

    Bypass that old fuel pump with an electric one

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep, that’s the plan, until the new pump comes in. The van is being hauled to the shop tomorrow.

    Have you thought about putting a Lifan 125 and a Trail Buddy wiring harness in it ?? 🧰🔧🔩⚙️🤣

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you haven’t watched his videos, check out a guy that goes by “Robot Cantina” on TH-cam. He recently put a Predator 670cc in a rear engine Renault.

    • @donsoule6411
      @donsoule6411 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MiniBikeMike I took a “gander” at the HF Predator 670 install in the Renault.
      I see why you like and suggested the channel. A man with similar approaches to his builds like you to the Trail 70s. I also like his suttle sarcasm and humor!
      I commented to his critiques… “Fun Fact”… the 1908 FORD Model ‘T’ engine was rated at 22-hp. (same hp as the Predator 670)
