Man. I don't know that I'd take that much gear out there, but I've been here for more than 15 years. I'm glad you got out with no issues. Welcome to town.
Hi, great video ! I have a couple of questions: 1. How does this stack up against the keystep 37, in terms of keys ? 2. Can I control a MIDI instrument with the pads instead of the keys ? 3. Do the knobs also send information via the MIDI out ?
I'm learning a lot from your videos. Thank you. You're unassuming, yet very knowledgeable and a great teacher. I own a MK3 37 key one myself. I love it, and the size is perfect for my needs. The larger ones are not as portable, and the smaller ones are too compact for how I like to use it.

The scale mode selection basically being straight off the Circuit is super smart and LOVE that they put a screen on there so you can actually see/confirm selections. Great video and glad to see your studio is coming along!

Did you reach a decision? :) The Knobs, as you know, can also control pretty much everything (volume, pan etc.). I once had the M-Audio Oxygen with faders and all, recently had a Presonus Faderport and sold that as well... For me, knobs are also cool enough to save some space and ditch the plastic wale...
Do you have or could you possibly do a video for the launchkey 61 mk3 setup in FL Studio?? I’m sure the 37 key setup would be similar but I can’t figure out how to control the transport functions (like play, stop, etc) through the pads. Can you map those first 4 knobs to NOT be fixed to pan, sends etc? For example, I want the first knob to control filter cutoff on the external VST. Im guessing yes, just making sure :)
Hello friend ! I have Novation Launchkey 49 mk 3. DAW - Ableton. Such a problem, in midi arrange mode the keyboard plays only one track in the project. I switch to another track, it still plays the same track. tools do not switch. only one instrument plays in the project.;(((

I believe you mean the midi- I’m not sure as I don’t have a vocla, I know it I’ve heard about issues with the polarity on the lk midi out potentially be reversed from what some gear receives...idk sorry I can’t be more helpful
Hey thanks for the great video and review! I’m considering buying my first midi keyboard and I want some portability. 37 keys sounds like a sweet spot to me. How does the quality of the Keybed compare to that of Arturia MiniLab Mk2? Any comment would be helpful. Thanks!
Hey Taetro! I've been watching your videos for a while on how to produce music! And because of it i decided to get my own midi controller and I'm getting the launchkey mini mk3 in a week or two👌🏻😩
So many people making videos similar to T.’s but the vibe here is just dope..🔥🔥🔥 enjoying this Channel. I’m a Musician at heart but Truck Driving is how I make a living for now which I also enjoy, what can anyone recommend for making music on the move since I live in a very small space, just wondering if y’all had any suggestions. Thanks 🙏🏽..
If you have a laptop you can take on the road, I'd recommend the Launchkey Mini MK3 controller to get you started! That's like the little brother to the controllers in this video. Great price (~$110 USD), amazing functionality (pads, keys, function buttons, etc.), small form factor (great for travel), and it comes with Ableton Live Lite, which is a free (but very capable) music production software. I think you'll be able to get some pretty good mileage (sorry, couldn't resist the pun) with just those few things! Cheers and good luck 👍
Loved the video! I was hesitant to get the MKII 49 key back in Feb in hopes they would update it. Did not expect to have a 37 key option and I'm thrilled! I'm looking at getting this for my first keyboard but also interested in the Launchkey Mini MKIII. Which would you recommend? Awesome video as always, and I really look forward to seeing what else this thing can do!
yooooo I was very curious about the Chord mode. Is it a game changer? It seems like it would be super easy to play live, using the pads for chords, and the keys for another synth or lead. I was pretty sold on the Arturia because honestly the white looks so dope, but the chord feature on Novation seems to be on another level. Could you comment?
Hey! I am writing this for you, but for future readers like me, haha. I also loooooooved the design on the Arturia so much (the white and "wood", man!). But, if a controller helps me make BETTER MUSIC, then that is the best decision. I recently bought the "37" and the "Mini" (Launckey), to compare them and... while you can add "Scaler" VSTs or "Players" (like in Reason) or sort of "Chorders" like in Ableton, FL Studio and other DAWs, the thing is: on the "37" and its bigger brothers, you can press "Scale" and voila! You are playing the right notes (just press the white keys, which you like and you'll be fine...). Then "Shift" + "Scale Chord" (Pad) on the controller and you can play CHORDS. Then with the UP and DOWN buttons (near the Pads) you can switch to complexER chords (1-3-5, 7ths, 9ths etc.) of the same root note. Is pretty dope. I wish the "Mini" had the Scale and Chords functions and would have went to bed, to sleep, every night, always carried it in my backpack, wherever I go. The "37", while smaller than other controllers, it still is a big chunk of plastic, which will only stay home, unfortunately... Taetro did not cover that up, cause he can play and is always showing off his skills, bla bla :), but check out other videos to see the POWER of the CHORDS, on this controller. Hope this helps you and others as well.
@@WEHAVETHISDREAM yeah I ended up getting Novation 49 and the chord mode, is in fact, a game changer. I get to choose the chords that sound the best, save them, and use them for future use. I get to learn new chords and the ways the chords sound in a streamlined way that doesn't impede on my creative flow. There's also an arp mode that I've been using which is great

It depends if you like full size keys or if you prefer a keyboard that fits in your bag!
yooooo I was very curious about the Chord mode.
I recently bought the "37" and the "Mini" (Launckey), to compare them and... while you can add "Scaler" VSTs
or "Players" (like in Reason) or sort of "Chorders" like in Ableton, FL Studio and other DAWs,
the thing is: on the "37" and its bigger brothers, you can press "Scale" and voila!
I wish the "Mini" had the Scale and Chords functions and would have went to bed, to sleep, every night,
always carried it in my backpack, wherever I go.
The "37", while smaller than other controllers, it still is a big chunk of plastic, which will only stay home, unfortunately...
Taetro did not cover that up, cause he can play and is always showing off his skills, bla bla :),
but check out other videos to see the POWER of the CHORDS, on this controller.
There's also an arp mode that I've been using which is great
@@cglessman Thanks a lot!
This helps me make my decision, eventually :D
So would this be a good way to go for a beginner instead of a push 2?
What is that beautiful synth patch?
you have a really nice red watch bro. what watch is it bro?
I don’t know if I should get this or the arturia key step 37
