As a 29 year old man, having never changed a tyre, and stranded in a supermarket car park tonight, you have rescued my kids dinner before it defrosted, and for that I thank you my good friend
As someone who has never owned a car before and never needed to know how to change a flat this video was very helpful, I'm surprised by how many people in the comments are watching this video and dissing it for being so detailed and acting like everyone should already know all this.
Howdini Great video, but in my humble opinion it's important to add that people should NOT change their driver's side tires when on the highway due to the risk of getting run over. Rather, they should call AAA and wait for help or do what one wise couple did once - they called the police and asked them to stand guard with the patrol car near their car for safety's sake while the driver changes the tire. There's no reason to risk life and limb for a flat tire.
Howdini this is straight-up tutorial and you should keep it like this. Not to say that it is too detail, because if you keep it brief only pp who knew it know what you're doing, and that would not help anyone at all. This is a perfect pace and indeed pretty good motion. Thanks you all

i just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH im an inexperienced 17yo stuck in the middle of nowhere with a tire that literally ripped open somehow and following this video saved me PS if anyone in a similar situation right now is seeing this, this video is more than helpful, but just note that taking the tire out can take a lot of force as it can be stuck in there due to rust and stuff. a few kicks in any direction, even inward can help loosen it up. just make sure not to kick the car off the jack while ur at it ofc
I just helped an elderly man replace his tire. Looked up this video and because you explained it so clearly I only had to watch it once. Just wanted you to know you helped someone out today and now I have learned a valuable skill. Thank you
Some tips : Be careful when jacking it up. DON'T jack it up on the plastic frame do it on the metal frame below the car. Also, If your jacking device has a thin gap this should be aligned with the metal that fits in there. If you change all four tires because of snow and summer use some chalk to write on them were they were like front-left, back-right. Hope this helps.
Yep the rocker panels extend under the doors so don’t jack there or you’ll put the Jack right up into your door kinda need to get up under there pinch welds are the strongest part of the car other then some frame rails. The pinch weld has a notched area the jack will fit into and lock everything tight. And my last tip jack up slowly and watch under the car as you jack up just so you can see the jack and make sure it didn’t slip out. I always put a jack stand under as well just for extra safety
Thanks allen! My dad comes and helps me every time I have a flat tire but he was sick this morning and couldn’t come help me. I had a rough idea of what I needed to do but having you with me step-by-step made me feel more confident that I could do it!
It is important to note that taking the bolts off and even loosening can seem impossible. If you have to you, can use your full weight by stepping on the wrench to loosen the bolt. Even stomping on it until you hear a very awful noise will be effective. The bolts are not meant to come off so it may seem like you are doing something wrong but you aren't. Always go counter clockwise to loosen on any tire and use a great amount of force to loosen.
yes , more likes for OP pls to make his the top comment. i was 145 lbs at the time and i had to literally jump on the wrench/handle with both feet to loosen the lugs.

This was vary well done it seems childishly simple to me but I grew up around cars and come from a long line of gear heads. In watching the video I was impressed how you covered seemingly ever single little step in a vary matter of fact and easy to understand way. Cars are as they say are a mature technology and as such you don't need to know anything at all about it to use it. Today's tires are so good and reliable that I can't remember the last time i changed a tire because it was flat and not just worn out or to upgrade. And even so just because you know how doesn't mean you can my sister knows how but can't do it at 5' 0 and just 105# she wouldn't be able to break the lugs lose not after johnny impact puts them on at the tire shop.
Great tutorial on how to change a tire. Just realize that changing a tire on a truck is way more difficult than changing a tire on a little car. You will definitely need a jack a lot better than the one shown in this video for a truck, and depending on the surface you are on, you may also need a wooden block to put the jack on for increased height since truck tires are way bigger than car tires you'll need to jack the truck significantly higher than a car.
Thank you for the video nobody ever taught me and I just kind of want to know before something happens so biggest takeaway I got here was to loosen the lug nuts before jacking, putting the Jack in the proper place to support the vehicle and to read the manual for that, and never ever put anything underneath the vehicle, and then one more thing, make sure not to lose the lug nuts. 👍✌️❤️
