I love Valheim’s approach to lore. They give the player breadcrumbs to follow. Just enough to follow. Just enough to obsess over until the picture comes clear.
I’m really, really excited to do more of these.

I really love this weaving of history with the game lore! And super impressive video quality. Would be interested in a vid analyzing the equipment in Valheim with the same bits of actual Viking history!

Thank you! Every video is a learning process so I'm always pleased to hear feedback on them.
A comparison of gear in-game and in real life is actually a really great idea for a video. Iron Gate spent a surprising amount of time getting small details to tie in to artifacts from mythology and history. Even our belts come right from the waist of mighty Thor himself.
I'm in the middle of a project for Enshrouded right now but I should have some free time for more Valheim content again in October. I'll definitely keep this idea in mind!

some shit like this about the ashlands would be hype not gonna lie. ashlands got the best lore in the whole game as far as im concerned. the winter child, fader, the rest of the emerald kingdom, its some crazy shit dawg

It was in the works actually! The trouble was that I got sidetracked by the plethora of amazing Warhammer content and other survival game content they dropped this year. It’s been like a buffet of gamer bliss. I’m hopeful to swing back into Valheim in 2025.

Nice vids. Theres a lack of this style of content for Valheim. Ive only seen one other channel that does decent lore vids. You earned my sub; great work!

Thanks so much for the sub! I had a lot of fun doing this one and I have at least one more to come for the Mistlands since I think I finally figured out what is going on there just the other day.

You should make more lore videos about fallen valkyries, serpents or dvergrs

Those are great suggestions! I just encountered the dvergr in our first Mistlands foray in the last stream. I am very curious to dig (puns, sorry) into them some more.

Great story... But it makes me feel a bit bad for all the slaughtering we did... Just poor outcasts driven to live in caves high in the mountains to escape.

Remember on stream when I was talking about having had a big change in feeling about the werewolves? Now you know why. They’re still monsters but they are much more relatable than the greydwarves for example.

They may have done something deserving of exile.

@@barccy There are lots of interpretations here for sure. I felt, given by the scene on the 4th tablet, that exile due to their transformation seemed most likely but we are talking about pictographs and obviously biased ones at that.
There could absolutely be all kinds of reasons behind the exile that aren't recorded. I love how vague Iron Gate left the lore here. It allows the full spectrum of speculation to run wild.
