Hey mate. Love your videos. Iv just got into fishing myself. I using a 8ft penn wrath. What was the reason for throwing out the smaller rod. To see if anything comes in close to shore ??
Thanks for the support on my channel bro. I really do appreciate it 👊🏼. When i fish i always like to use two rods with different baits and also one in close as well as one as far out as i can. Sometimes you would be suprised how shallow the fish come in to feed.
Hey mate, im some what new to bait fishing and im wondering what beaches in the peninsulea do you recommend to fish at ive got a 7' and a 10' as my big rods.
Ey mate with those length rods I would be sticking to local piers as fishing off the beaches I prefer 13 foot rods. Most piers in ppb hold good fish after the right condtions. Mordialloc and morninton are probs the 2 best piers if they are local to you.
I religiously use chicken (fresh thigh fillet) for everything. Works wonders for me, outfishes fresh squid and iv totally given up on pilchards. Have caught rediculous amounts of fish on chicken!!!
Yer it amazes me how good it is. I also have a mate who swears by it and he has caught alot of diffrent fish on them. Makes you wander sometimes if the fish are hunger they will eat anything. If they are not thats when fresh baits matter i guess .
@@MustaFishing we have used it on double paternosters with freshly caught squid and the chicken outfishes every time. Flathead and King george love it as do salmon and snapper. We are going on a 3 day camping fishing trip tonight and I have packed a lot of chicken hahaha
Hey bro I live up the bush in a thriving metropolis of 150 more bloody roos than people LOL I know you don't give away your spots (don't blame you :) ) just wondering if you know if Stony Point is any good for Snapper ? Cheers Mate
Ey bro u can get them there but they are alot more frequent in ppb. Places from Mornington too st kilda all hold good fish when the conditions are right. ( after a big blow) . Hope this helps bro and goodluck
Ive heard salting it the day before to toughin up the skin. And i would also marinate it with tuna oil . Imagine that would be stinky as haha surely it would attract some good fish
Is the reel brake engaged or is there slack and can the fish pull the line?
Fish that are big enough can pull the line. I dont lock reel up as im not using very heavy line
Bream also love chicken breast a great alternative bait.
Its a very underrated bait. It will almost catch you anything. Ive heard king george whiting, salmon, even gummy sharks caught on chicken
I think chicken is a no no in SA? Correct me if wrong! Mal.
Im not sure of the rules in S.A. Its a shame if u cant use it as it catches alot of diffrent species

Hi, what hook size do you use?
Hey bro depends mostly on the size of bait im using. But most the time when fishing for snapper i use 3/0-4/0

Dont tighten drag, or could loose fish.

Next time, use some iodised salt to cake the chicken. It'll make the chicken tough enough to stay on the hook. 🤟
That does sound really good bro ive heard afew other things to add as well ( tuna oil ) lol ill have to give it a shot
overnight
whats the best to put on chicken to make it even better, chilli or anything else?
Ive heard salting it the day before to toughin up the skin. And i would also marinate it with tuna oil . Imagine that would be stinky as haha surely it would attract some good fish
Tuna oil crushed garlic from a jar and parmasan (no joke) use chicken thigh is tougher
Almost sounds like a good enough marinate to eat haha
@@MustaFishing never fails mate all types of fish take it
