Mirpur is definitely the UK of Pakistan with around 80% British Pakistanis coming from Mirpur and the surrounding areas. My mum's side of family come from Mirpur and I still have relatives living there. But I have only been to Pakistan once back in 1993 so looks like you have been there more than me - I mean I have travelled to other places more than once like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Maldives, Philippines, Singapore, Seychelles, Mauritius, Greece, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Morocco, USA, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt but surprisingly never been to Scotland, Wales and Ireland even though I am from Nottingham. But I think it is long overdue for me to visit Pakistan again.. And Irn Bru is my favourite fizzy drink too

I was watching this video and then my neighbour came and we watched it together. He said that this video changed his life and touched his heart. The Mirpur police need to do something about the begging problem in Mirpur. Begging gangs from across Pakistan in particular Punjab are disturbing locals and guests. They should offer them housing and if they refuse they should be forced out. As horrible as that sounds a lot of them are part of begging gangs, offering housing will Sieve out the ones in genuine need.

irn bru is actually sold in almost every store in Pakistan, one of the most popular drinks, they have even abbreviated it to just Bru. also, the Pakistan Bru is like the 80's/90's Bru, whereas in the UK Bru has been watered down and has sweeteners, Pakistan has the original full of sugar version.
As a city Mirpur is getting better. The sprawling PC Hotel by Mangla Dam is being completed. There's a Domino's and a Subway. A KFC is being built, can see McDonald's next, Gloria Jean's, Hardee's etc. Loads of nice local restaurants too. Mirpur just needs a multiplex cinema, bowling alley, a fun city and a golf course by the dam and it will be absolutely buzzing. Mirpur is definitely a little UK city of Pakistan.
