    Gas has an affect that isn't talked about here that makes some of it's downsides make sense. Gas is the only DOT status affect to linger after death of the target, meaning that if you kill a target with an attack that deals a gas proc that proc will still do damage to other enemies around them for the 6 sec

    Puncture procs helps primary weapons that have decent crit values but weighed towards puncture. Incarnon Boltor Prime has no slash, relying on hunter munitions and its crit chance (30%) to do slash procs. So you can use the increased crit chance from puncture procs to boost hunter munitions's odds.

      Gas is in a decent spot, as it 10m range at max stacks and ability to linger even after the target has died make it a potent AoE damage type.
      Blast is dogsh*t. And I believe that's not a bad thing. It okay to have a weak damage type that is present only on weapons which are very strong in other aspects, like Kuva Bramma.

  • @Tripleyou
    @Tripleyou 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    As this is a comprehensive guide on damage types I feel like some rellevant info was left untouched. For example all of the status effects have dedicated names. Saying Slash Proc instead of it's actual name Bleed is extremely common. It is also extremely common to get the wrong impression on how Virus works. Even after watching this video I can see why. The debuff to health include armored health, and all health types. It just doesn't debuff shields and overguard. Bringing up these details could definitely help people avoid misconceptions.
    Lastly without going into too much detail I would have expected a brief overview on how damage over time status effects are calculated and that in because they are based on the hit, certain debuffs and boosts as well as headshots work twice in their damage calculation and of course the exceptions to these. Thats pretty comprensive, but granted you went over heat inherit, I feel like it could have been expanded on a bit further. Very nice guide otherwise

    It is worth noting that there is at least one mod in the game that adds Viral. Not toxin + cold, but straight up Viral, allowing for toxin/cold base or combo elements to be used alongside it.
    The Damzav-Vati augment mod for AkBronco Prime, purchasable from Father in the Necralisk on Deimos, adds 240% Viral to the weapon. That is worth two mods adding 120% each, or two 90% mods and a 60% mod. This mod, like Smite Infusion or Venom Dose, adds the combo element _directly_ to the weapon.

    Forgot to mention a few things.
    First, that radiation disables infested aura effects from units like ancients (all types), swarm moas, and eximus units. Since half the danger of infested is their strength in numbers because of these aura's, especially at higher levels, this is a significant thing to omit. Eximus units in general are also highly significant in eximus strongholds and higher level content for their auras.
    Second, procs of gas and electricity are based on the last damage proc source at all times, meaning if you apply a lot of procs and then get a heavy shot, all the currently applied effects will inherit the damage for the remainder of their duration. I think you mentioned that for electricity but you weren't clear on it. Also elec/gas is the only DoT elemental combination you can have at the same time if you wanted to double down on this strategy in some way.
    Considering the scope of the video though, and how much there is to the damage system, missing only these 2 things is impressive. A well done video

    Any ETA on when the updated vid will come out? The Jade Shadows update kinda made this one almost completely irrelevant due to “health into faction” change.
    Personally am interested in blast v gas comparison, as they do the same thing now. Didn’t quite figure out what’s the difference besides the faction bonuses and the additional elements you choose after the “main”.
    EDIT: blast turned out to be awesome on hard-hitting weapons like snipers and launchers, as it takes 30% of the total damage dealt for a proc instead of the mod value (as gas does), so one-shots turn into mini-nukes. especially noticeable with new "Elementalist" mods

    Magnetic does have some nice broad applications. I don't think it's worth modding for directly, but weapons with innate Mag do open up Mag/Viral/Heat and Mag/Corrosive/Heat which give you universal coverage. Now that Corrupted are a relevant faction (due to Circuit and Void farms), being able to have Mag for free is very nice. In addition you can use a single set-and-forget mod config that will always Just Work outside of endurance runs.
    As for notable weapons with easy access to Mag, Gammacor and all Lich/Tenet weapons give you access to this, with several being able to stack statuses extremely quickly. Tenet Cycron is my favourite for this.

      Any tweaks or changes made recently that benefit the game
      The fact that Duviri fulfilled the "We need more difficult warframe content" demand without just uber-scaling values, and gave you a reason to try frames and weapons other than the ones you usually play
      More recent frames like Kullervo, Styanax, etc being very fun to play

    OR If it reduced the rating of enemy armor that would also make sense, like hitting an enemy with shattering impact
    Cold procs should also have a similar property but specifically making enemies more vulnerable to puncture, impact, and every element and combo but heat and viral idk that just makes sense to me
    they should probably make enemy armor be as crazy as it was before though so its not too busted

    I was a little confused watching the video after reading the wiki, which says you get a 50% crit damage bonus that’s additive after mods. If that’s the case then wouldn’t a weapon with 2X crit damage end up with a 3X crit damage multiplier after all cold procs applied? Great video though! I always love seeing Warframe mechanics explained more in your videos 😊👍

    • @TheKengineer
      @TheKengineer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      The wiki references the in game description but it isn't correct. For example on testing with a weapon using a 7.7x critical multiplier (unmodded 2.2x), it dealt 9085 damage on a normal yellow crit and 9675 damage on a yellow crit with 9 cold stacks. If you divide 9085 by 7.7, then multiply by (7.7+0.5) you get 9675. If it were a modded multiplier then the damage should have hit 10383, or if it multipled the crit damage after all mods then it'd be 13628.

    I love your vids, they help me get more depth in my builds.
    However, i cant help but noticed you dont mention somethings like the major benefit of having radiation for certain frames like Revenant, xaku, titania, nyx, Qorvex and any other similar type frame. They gain 550% bonus damage to all their attacks and with viral maxed out as well they gain an additional 325 for a total of 875% bonus damage dealt to targets which is multiplicative.
    This can be tested with xaku or Revenant easily and using the basmu with radiation to see the scaling in damage.
    Admittedly this can become significantly OP but the set up time often balances it out...mostly.

    • @noahedenborg4221
      @noahedenborg4221 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah ebcause thats not what radiatio does that 550 is for the enemys dmg not urs

    • @Grandsheba
      @Grandsheba 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @noahedenborg4221 lol, you didn't read anything i said and clearly dont understand. You can use the 550% damage buff to your advantage for your abilities with the frames i mentioned because those change the alliance flags or the abilities used cause the enemies to damage each other based on your damage. For example: Revenant can turn enemies into thralls, they are now on your side. Proc them with radiation, which means you're attacking allies, which means you deal 550% extra damage to them.
      For titania or Qorvex a very similar thing happens but instead your priming the enemy as a bomb and then apply radiation stacks, those stacks cause your bomb todo more damage becasue the enemy is exploding on each other which gain the bonus from radiation.
      So, again..yes it can work for you if you meet these requirements. You can also use some weapons to gain the bonuse of radiation but its such a small benefit that it doesnt matter. Weapons like the Orvius, because it turns enemies into puppets. Forcing them to damage each other, thus benefiting from the 550% bonuse at max stacks of radiation. But to be even more clear, you can benefit from any stack of radiation under these conditions up to the 550%.
      I hope that clears these facts up for you and you learned a new mechanic to have fun with.
