They weren't being demeaning when they said that, they weren't putting limitations on kpop or BTS. They were paying a compliment, one of the highest compliments Americans can give about music - that there is deep rhythm and funk and groove, and that it has soul, heart, and sincerity. Don't immediately jump to being offended for BTS. They weren't being critical.

Your friend said she can be like a 15 year old girl watching this...which is so far away from what ARMY is in general. That's understandable because a lot of people new to BTS might associate teenagers with boy bands. ARMY already know the answer to this since our fandom is so diverse in ages & backgrounds. You gotta tell her she doesn't need to be a teenager to listen to BTS. 🤣 Their music is appreciated by every age groups. 💜 The youngest ARMY I know is almost 5 and the oldest is in her 70's. 😊
I recommend showing the newbies some introduction videos to give them an idea of who & what BTS stands for in relation to who they are as Artists and what their mission statement is. I recommend *THIS IS BTS: INTRODUCTION 2020* by XCELESTE. There are other intro videos, but that's the newest video I'm recommending. 😁💜

Ignorance is bliss which can lead to a lot of assumptions, but I find it best for ARMYs to keep newbies well informed of who BTS is as a whole because they are BEYOND what is associated with the title of a typical "boy band." Plus, education and learning is an ongoing process so you're never too old to learn something new every day. 😁💜

I know everyone has their own thoughts so here’s mine; at first I thought it would be their pre-release song “Stay Gold” I think it was more for the fans but finally long awaited comeback that fans been looking forward to has come with their first ever full english track single following their upcoming new eighth overall but 4th japanese studio album that brings the feels of retro and MJ vibes with the pastel color theme that reminds me of their ‘The Most Beautiful Moment In Life’ era along with hypeness of “Boy With Luv” that you want to groove too and don’t even get me started on their fashion *I’m dead* Theres so many phrases that I don’t know where to start, It’s been two years since they came out with previous japanese album ‘Face Yourself’ but it went so quick that I can’t remember if there was any fan reactions to it. I can’t wait to listen what they’ve cooked up for us; I’m so geeked it’s hard to contain myself 😻😁 like DYNAMITE. *Later, they talked about the original song was written by an english singer-songwriter of the Eurythmics & Jessica Agombar named Dave Stewart.* BTS dropped a cute funny B-side version (Bloopers) & ‘Sing Dynamite With Me’ selfcam videos and their own reaction to the MV #BTS_Dynamite
LOL 😂 B-side version is of them being goofballs & freestyling while making small mistakes more close-ups during the filming of the MV.

Haha there are a lot of really young armies too, my cousin sister is 5 and an army, my cousin brother 7 and an army, and I became an army at the age of 9 xD

방탄은 이례적으로 유튜브 조회수 1위 국가도 미국이고 2016년 무렵부터 이미 유럽이나 북미 쪽 인기가 이례적이었지.
인지도나 인기가 동남아 쪽 비중이 엄청 커서 사실상 서양권에서 케이팝 입지는 bts외엔 뭐라 하기 애매함..
팝가수랑 콜라보 해서 버프 받는 경우 아니면 빌보드 성적만 봐도 bts가 너무 압도적임ㅋㅋㅋ
