The whole soviet team was very good in 1984, even Myskhin was not in the 1984's team. In the 1985 there was a big upgrade in the team with Volkov and Tikhonenko. The 1984 team was very strong and the 3 towers Sabonis, Tkachenko and Belostenny made getting rebounds or trying to score on the paint nearly impossible. Spain did a great tournament, showing a very good defense and great counter-attack but Soviets were just too good. Great shooters and in the paint, as I said before, was very difficult. Sabonis was a young marvel and Tkachenko knew perfectly his role in the team. Great video !
