Hirohiko can’t teleport because he’s bonded to the enchanted blade. Bonding with a blade forces you to give up all other forms of sorcery
That's probably not it.
I thunk it's either the tattoo ir the fact that he's under surveilkance by Samura rhat he didn't teleport himself

@richardvalentine5224 That's your own innate sorcery though, you can still interact with the power system. We lack details on what the Hishaku teleportation is exactly, but it seems like something that generally isn't innate and is part of the tattoo.
I don't intend ti be stubborn about it though, so it's just a wait and see for me
You only lose your original Sorcerery, for Hirohiko that's just his paper abilities. The Teleportation is something else entirely that we don't fully understand yet. Kind of like the seals that the Masumi utilize.

I am calling complete propaganda by the Kamunabi that this island invaded Japan. I agree with the theory that Japan found out about the Datenseki, got greedy, started a war but blamed the island to justify a war. They won that war when they got their hands on some Datenseki and gave it to Kunishige to make it into the Enchanted Blades and slaughtered the island. Also we know Char and her moms cells were used to stabilize Datenseki by Sojo. Which probably means Char's clan is from the island since the islanders can withstand the Datenseki's powers and the Kyonagi clans cells could stabilize it.
I don't know. There's something fishy going on here, don't get me wrong. But, the sword bearers AND Kunishige seemed to feel justified in what they did. Not that what they did was right per-say, but that it was necessary. That the swords were necessary to win the war and that winning the war was a good thing. I feel like Kunishige wouldn't have gone along with it unless he was either a) he was being forced to or b) he needed to in order to save his country
I feel like its gonna be more complicated. That'll it'll be far more grey then that.
Also the thing with Chars clans cells being able to stabilize Datenseki was only a theory that Sojo made and in the end we never saw it work out. Though I could believe that there somehow connected.
If I remember correctly Char’s clan’s blood isn’t actually a critical component to making the blades. Sojo just thought due to their healing capabilities, it would help him make one. Though as we’ve found out, Rokuhira had a special prowess in bringing out the Datenseki’s stabilizing capabilities.
Yeah, I'm going to have to look back but I thought there was hundreds of years of lore about her clans healing properties which would indicate they were NOT from the island, but maybe I'm remembering wrong... the more interesting question is why Kuneshige could handle it.

"Shokoku" is not the name of the island it simply means "Small island" in japanese

I’m thinking it might instead be a filler placement name that the govt gave as a cover. The real name may have some hint that the govt doesn’t want people to know about.
I think the flame teleportation thing the Hishaku can do is completely tied to their flame tatoos. Hiruhiko also had this tatoo when we first met him, but it looks like the tatoo vanished after his arms were cut off and reattached. This tatoo could be a result of one of the Hishaku members abillities. Maybe it's Yura's or some other members or maybe it's like a general spell.
Maybe since Chihiro stabbed the Tatoo it doesn't work anymore and he'll need to get a new one in the future.

I had a theory that the Hishaku mark either was acquired sorcery or it helps the sorcerer awaken his sorcey in any case the who set them up must be a genius sorcerer
Love the new world building! Can’t help but wonder if the inhabitants of that island may have been wronged in some way and had good reason to fight the mainlands. Maybe something like that is why the sword bearers feel as if they have some insane sin they must repent for lol. Idk just some speculation!
Just read this about an hour ago. Was a bit surprised with the lore dump in this chapter. It does bring up alot of questions.
With the reveal of the enemies of the Setei war, so many things have clicked. So many characters, so many crimes, I think I have alot of idea's.

Jokes aside, I wonder what happened to the Island that started the war.
Maybe they had to kill EVERYONE on it (Including innocents) and that's why the sword bearers don't consider themselves heroes.

The hand tattoo is the key to the teleportation sorcery
Here me out, Kunishige is a descendent of the Shokoku island, which is why he has such a good eye for datenseki. This means that Chihiro is going to be able to wield enchanted blades at a deeper connection, maybe even boosting himself with raw datenseki.
He had the tattoo !! Go back to when he was first introduced he had it. He might have had new arms attached to him
The mother thing is probably rou and chihiro considering telling ioris mom about samura too

Every hishaku can use it likely due to the tattoo they have which hiruhiko lost when his arms got cut off possibly due to the sword contract
I also think the kyonagi might be a red herring in a sense that they're unrelated to the datenseki and sojo just chose the people because of his false beliefs in order to make him more unredeemable
NEW CHAPTER LORE IDEA:
I think both the sword master and chiheros dad are from the island where the raw material for the sword was made. I think the reason the sword bearers wernt able to win the war for a while was because they had no one from the other side to help them turn the tides. I think when the last blade was made Chiheros dad made it "different" so it could attune to someone from the island. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD:
The "true realm" is mentioned a few times and from my perspective I think the only one to successfully reach the true potential of the true realm was the sword master. I think this because it could explain the irefularities we saw with magatsumi in the auction arc. What if we were seeing the affects of the swords masters "binding vows" they made by accessing the true realm. This could be something people hear about but dont know how to replicate. In a way I think Chihero is the only other person to be able to reach the true realm on the same level as the master because Chihero might be a half blood from the island. If somehow chiheros dad fell in love with a woman from the island, it could explain how Chiheros dad got information and understanding on how to control and manipulate the raw material for the swords. As for why I think the sword master is Chiheros uncle? I feel that the magatsumi was known to be the strongest when Chiheros dad made it, because of that I think they would only give it to somone they trust, like in my theory the sword master- aka chiheros dads brother in law. It would explain why the sword is different as it was made for someone from the island, while aslo giving reasoning for why chihero could be important. As they could represent thier dads wish to protect the weak. Maybe their dad knew Chihero had this potential like the swords master, Seeing the potential for chihero to make a change. Maybe hid dad made Enten so that one day Chihero might be able to reach the true realm and alter enten in a way that could end the "deadlock" the swords put the world in.
ANYWAY im high and had some dumb ideas. I want the sword master to be from the island so bad bro. Let me see what a monster can do with a sword made for them specifically please omg.
I think the Island came from something less "Alien" and more "distortion world " from pokemon. When we see the panel introducing the island appearing, their are some black lines that look either like lightning or what i think kinda looked like the storehouse bubbles. Maybe implying that distortion dimension idea thing. IDK
I agree with the Mom being from the island but not the Dad. Sword master and his Mom being siblings is interesting. And he joined Japans side to protect his Sister. S/o the idea. They cant get rid of Sword master cuz they actually cant beat him.

Char family has to be mixed with sorcerer and the island ppl. Which shows propaganda w/ the bodies already started.
The garden remnants after the year and 4 months was a nice touch. Sword master go crazy.
I saw the Mom stuff as just alerting a parent. The actual Mother probably has passed cuz she would be a possible hostage too if that was his boo. Not having a mother would also be a bad memory.
Refining his sword technique at the same time is some real rival stuff.
A point to correct
Chihiro wasn't explaining the seitei war, it's iori flashing black to her schooldays
i think the hishaku teleporting is more akin to a waypoint. they can tp to each other or summon each other because of the tattoo, but Hirohiko cant because his arms got cut off, severing the tattoo sorcery thing. toto probably got in normally because they dont know her, while HiroHiko was a suspect in the theatre massacre, which is why he brought up the surveillance issue
My initial thought is that the small island was an experimental lab and the inhabitants were test subject that escaped.
Side note, Yura and the tree Ishaku member both have used the flame teleportation technique.
They gave that little boy (in the visions) an Enchanted Blade then sent them back their to Island slaughter the entirety of their people w/ Magatsumi’s Meadow of MURDER - a power they were unaware of and incapable of controlling (or even hold at bay like Kyora?)
My theory currently is that the Hishaku share each member’s Innate Sorcery amongst themselves with the tattoos

The island probably teleported out of the “true realm” where the enchanted blades draw their power 😅(also I theorized that Shinuchi created it, obviously finishing the chapter it’s not true just liked the thought)

hiruhiko in previous chapters had the hishaku mark, after getting his arms reattached seems like the mark is gone now.

I think Toto’s sorcery has to do with blood because HH was speaking of a blood at the end of this chapter to Toto and back in the school she mention blood too so..
HH cant TP cuz the sword they attuned too removed their sorcery (paper cranes and likely the TP)
