    Question: why would China want to OWN Kenya ? Your neighbor wants to help you build a new driveway. He says, if you can’t pay, he will help you adjust your mortgage.

    The goal of the Belt and Road Initiative is to enrich China.
    And between the policy enriching the West through colonization and slavery, enriching China through co-operation and development doesn't seem too bad.

      The high speed rail system in China isn’t profitable because the ticket fares aren’t enough to recoup their losses. but the Chinese government puts in government spending for public transport because the overall positive effect it has on economy activity and movement of people makes it profitable for the country as a whole. The rail itself isn’t profitable. Maybe that’s what they mean here too?

    The infrastructure projects are built with money from Chinese banks, higher rates of interest than projects from World Bank etc. Chinese companies are paid for building the infrastructure. Also, Kenya imports more from China. Money is just going out, nothing really improving for fiscal position of Kenya.

      china giving out free stuff is going back to their ancient history, look up zheng he and his voyage to africa in the 14th, the "tribunal" system in ancient china is interpreted by westerners but their tribunal mean that they give the other countries more than they have to give to china. being generous is considered a virtue and prestige in asia thats why you see the stereotype of asians fighting each others to pay the bill at a restaurant. all of this is coming from a vietnamese and we have rivalry with china for 2000+ years. they want recogniztion of their country being great they couldnt give less fuck about how your country runs, freedom good, dictator good, as long as you talk good about China and recognize them as a great country, they care very much about "face". also they thought of their land is a divinely blessed land(the middle kingdom between heaven and earth) they dont want your land as much as you think

    It's only a matter of time before the entire African continent realizes that it is lock in the arms of China and being colonized once again . I regret to admit that we black people seldomly learned from history and as a result we are poor generation builders because we are too dependent on others to pave the way to our future. China's rise is at its peak and should not be seen as the bedrock for Africa's future developments

    • @bekindtopeople54
      @bekindtopeople54 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true; China built their nation through hard work. a lesson that African nations should learn and replicate in their countries.
      China is very likely to take control of Africa once more, just as European colonizers once did. I wish we had more wise leaders who would have reevaluated these investment projects because there is no way we can repay them.
      No one is weary of these China investments, and putting them into intro consideration, like, "Oh", it's just a loan
      I wish we had smart leaders who would have thought twice about these investment projects.

      @@bekindtopeople54 The purpose of your government’s existence is to indicate that without a government, your life might be better. You must carefully consider where many of your resources, such as oil, timber, minerals, gold, and the money generated from these resources, end up. Your government seems interested only in pocketing all that money and sending their children to the United States and Canada. Additionally, you need to ponder whether your country has the ability to repay its debts. Last year, China forgave nearly $2 billion in debt for 17 African countries. As a Chinese person, I believe giving this money to African countries without charge is not as good as using it for the Chinese people themselves. After all, we would at least say thank you.

    The Bait and Rob Initiative

    • @thwb4661
      @thwb4661 ปีที่แล้ว

      Belt and Road Initiative is first and foremost pro-Asian, something Americans are furious about because they're excluded from the "Old World Club". Asia has done it before without the US for thousands of years, we can do it again without the US. Europe, Asia, and Africa will benefit from it like they did in the past. I don't think Europe will like it if they were blocked from the Silk Road once again so I don't see a reason why they won't support it. Only America is against it.
