Wait!!! He desmembered a body, confeses doing it, said that it was self decense, they never found anything that prouved it was self defense and they still let him walk?
Like how you being wealthy can "hide" that it was an obvious crime?

I just watched Jinx, what I got from it was that his whole defense was that they fought and kinda wrestled with the gun and it went off killing Mr Morris. After that, he dismembered him to get rid of the body because he was in the hiding in TX and was avoiding any attention brought to him (because of the NY case). His defense team made sure the jury focused on the killing itself and not what happened to the body afterwards (he wasn't being tried for that, for some reason). What they also explained was that it was prosecutor's job to disprove the self-defense claim, but they weren't able to (no witnesses, missing head with the gun wound.... So no way to disprove it really). He was very charming in court and the jury believed him. One of the jurers was interviewed for Jinx and said that he still believes that Durst is innocent and just the unluckiest person ever.

It was the prosecutor's burden to prove that it wasn't self-defense they said in the HBO doc. Idk how Texas law works, idk why they couldn't at least charge dismemberment? Prosecutors didn't expect a legitimate defense and got caught flat footed after it was too late.

Why is the comparism of the two letters altered? In fact the handwriting was the exact same yet in this doc it looks like the writing was different?

In anything ive seen anout him they always say robert Durst thinks no rules apply to him. They proved on going that no rules did apply at all to him. Each time releasing him and all. They helped him in so many ways to hurt people and get away with it all necause he had money

Couldn't have picked a prosecutor that wasn't in it for his 15 min of fame? Hands down the worst trial I've ever seen. The judge allowed it to be a clown court and the entire prosecution team acted like the court jesters.

I’m new to this story so I’m sure there is a bunch I’m missing but to me it is believable his claim that he said “they think I killed them all, of course” because he follows it up with “what can(did?) I do” and to me that could read like he was saying what else could I do but make this documentary everyone already thinks I killed them might as well make some money off of it. But my gut says he did it. I think we shouldn’t send anyone to prison unless we 100% know for a fact that person committed the crime. I’ve seen a lot of shows recently (within the last 2 decades) where jury’s have convicted a person based on hearsay and speculation and while I agree these victims should have justice there is never any justice in convicting an innocent man/woman. When I was younger I use to think the USA had the best justice system in the world. That yeah it had flaws but nothing could be perfect and at least everyone was working to make it as good as possible but now that I’m older I see it’s all about money just like everything else and justice is just a product/ illusion sold. Even if this man went to prison his money would buy him the best prison possible. Like this boy who wrecked into 4 people killing most of them drunk driving and his prison offers mma classes like wtf I would like to go to some of those prisons for a year it would be more of a vacation then punishment lol
