Excellent! I was privileged to see Musk Ox in 2017 while exploring the Dalton Highway, but they were not nearly as close as your views! Thanks for sharing your time with these majestic animals!
Scott, wow, just Wow! Beautiful work and beautiful storytelling. So great to see these wild muscock and in their environment. I will likely never get to see these in person, so thank you for sharing your adventures. For all the negative stuff that technology brings us, it’s so nice to see it used in a positive way. I can tag along on trips from Alaska to Australia. I really love your teaching style and compilations. Saying “Thank you” doesn’t seem like enough!
Wow such a great job! Echoing the other comments, such a beautiful and amazing landscape with a unique subject as the focus. What a great experience your group had, and very thankful for you sharing with all of us!!
Scott, this was so beautiful I had to watch it twice! Love your writing style and the passion for Nature that fills each informative episode! So good to see you looking stronger and more robust!
What an amazing opportunity. Stunning, breathtaking and beautifully wild. A fantastic video Scott and no doubt a trip of a lifetime. Absolutely love your work, stay well 😊
What a beautiful video and images. Stunning colours. Coming over from the uk in the next month or so to cruise Alaska, hoping to see as much wildlife as possible and visit the fortress of bears at sitka. Thanks.
Great video and absolutely spectacular images Scott, well done ! Thanks for taking us along !! Reminds me of the time (early 80's) I spent in Canada's Northwest Territories, outside Tuktoyaktuk, with some muskoxen. I was a hunter then, should have been a photographer.... Cheers,
Amazing. Great to seeing you in your element again. Was glad you had Cassie and others along. I had no idea of the Musk Ox history. Another great video. I finally bought the 28-400mm Nikon Z lens. For wildlife is is surprisingly sharp. But in my experience slow to focus. I missed some shots would have gotten with my 100-400mm Z lens. Not surprisingly but I haven’t seen a review on slow focusing. If you can test this lens would be interested in your opinion.
I’ve always enjoyed your videos, but this was just great. Your commentary, the pace, the balance of video and still all worked wonderfully together. Thank you. By the way, what adapter are you using to mount Canon EF on Nikon Z?
It's a Fringer. I have a video on it you can watch here th-cam.com/video/0LoU553rJmc/w-d-xo.html They have a newer version 2 that has weather sealing now also. And thanks for the kind words.
I know. Had so much footage to go through. well over 12k images and tons of video. Then I managed to have a heart attack about time I was going to get it started....best laid plans ya know 😂
Oh my. Stay strong and my best advise when you get out is to walk every day, even if its just around the house. It is what has helped me the best is to just get up and walk a little bit each day. Your in my prayers 🙏
Flying out limits camera choices. Took the Z9 for. main camera work and ZV-e1 for video a roll, roll, etc. for the channel. That plus lenses pretty much fills up the pack.
Love your channel and the relaxed way you explain things. There are many times you just can’t get close enough without cropping especially if you want to print large. Are you using an upsize software like Topaz Gigapixel or LR’s Enhance?
Looks amazing, loved this video, one thing I noticed, it says your using a canon ef 500 f4 on a nikon z9, just wondering how you did that? And also is there any downsides that you noticed to adapting the lens?
Thanks. And here's the 2 videos on Getting the Z9 and using the Canon lens with it. th-cam.com/video/0LoU553rJmc/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/J6x7Ijirsxk/w-d-xo.html
Interesting that you chose to use a Canon lens on a Nikon body. I didn't realize that was even possible. I'd be interested in hearing about why you made this choice. Thank you for the great video!
Here ya go. Made a video about acquiring the Z9 and using the Canon lens on it in the video prior to this one. th-cam.com/video/0LoU553rJmc/w-d-xo.html
What kind of boots are you wearing. I have used muck boots brand for about five years but they don't hold up well before coming unglued. I reglue them with Barge and get a little more time but I'm looking for a different option. I noticed yours and wanted to ask about them.
Are you still in Nome? I’m from Nome and would love to photograph together. I just got a Z9 and the 180-600 Edit- got excited and commented before I watched. Captured everything lovely
I just saw a review vid on the cannon 200-800 don’t recall guys name but he was photographing musk ox he mention his friend Scott let him use the lens immediately thought it was you , then this vid drops 🤦♂️ Nice vid 👍 always liked the musk ox !! But am a bit disappointed you didn’t use the R8 ☝️ 😆😝 a tad confused you been sitting on this for 9 months? Looking good glad your doing well
Had a little bit of a heart attack that messed up my schedule lol. This video took a LOT of time to work up. 5 days footage and images. probably 12k images along to look through and then edit the ones I wanted to keep. Plus I wanted to take my time on the images and video. such a special experience. I would have loved to take more cameras with me but only so much I can take on a plane ✈️🤪 Only person who has used my 200-800 so far has been Heidi.
@@WILDALASKA like I said never seen this guy before this vid just popped up , missed it but he said his friends last name but don’t know yours just assumed 🤷♂️ and not intending to advertise for him on your channel just thought you might have thought someone using your name not the case no worries if you want to delete the link from your channel, took me awhil to find it th-cam.com/video/i4M1a5O3g_w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cOHn8Kjgwd4gt4BH

If I can get my hands on a rental, I'll for sure test it out. I'll be testing the Tamron Z 150-500 this week.
Another Awesome video! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great photos and video, knew there was another environment in Alaska! Forgive my ignorance😊 it looks really interesting and pretty vegetation.S
Such a huge state it has a bit if everything

You've been sitting on this spectacular footage since last autumn!? Shame on you... and thanks for finally sharing it. Alaska in Autumn is wild!

Amazing creatures and wonderful shots! What brand boots are those you are wearing? They look good and tough.
XtraTuff's Staple boot here in AK
I survived my open heart surgery and I am still in the hospital recovering

Not on anything taken here. I have used gigapixel before and it works fairly well.
Stop making me jealous!

One question: Why do you use Canon lenses on the Z9? Is the reason the camera and does the autofocus work with the adapter? Btw very nice shots.
