    Happy Back to School for all the kiddos! Please know that the extra 10 mins is for everyone not just people with kids going back to school. Anyone who drive to work, appointments, is out and about in the morning rush (afternoon too) school buses stopping, moving slowly, kids standing waiting pick up all the things… changes our lives so leave 10 mins early to allow for these hiccups and keep our kids safe. What was a empty quiet street at 7am now has kids walking from home to bus stops, corners filled with kids excited, playing with friends, chatting waiting for the bus! Everyone please be safe!

    Rachel your back to school prep videos are the absolute best out there. Every tip is fantastic. Thanks to you, this is the first year I feel organized and confident about the school year. I got the extra water bottles and ice packs because yes, they get forgotten or lost. There is also always at least one teacher close to Christmas that sends out an email to parents asking for Christmas to get your child more pencils/pens/erasers/sharpener because they lost them. Purchasing them now means you won't be paying full price then, and even if you are not asked, you can use those supplies for next year. I hope the school year has been going well for your kids thus far, and you.

    Such good advice Rachel. I worked in a small medical office for 14 years. The first few weeks after school started was so busy with colds, flu and bugs raging through the schools. I don't even have kids, but I will watch absolutely any video you put out 😅

    Hello Rachel I say all of the advice you gave it really does work I did for years. My son always had deodorant in his backpack and he would always keep in his room with his shoes. Thank you for sharing and have a great day ❤

    Love these tips. Such great advice. Several don’t apply to us since we home school but the ones that do I have used for years or a similar version. I always had my son’s clothes ready for the week. He doesn’t care what he wears so he just goes and grabs the clothes for that day and throws them on. Since he is home schooled, he eats breakfast in his pjs, that way he doesn’t spill all over his school clothes. That was always one of the tips I gave friends..either have your kids eat in their pjs or have an extra outfit ready in case they spill all over their clothes. Hope your kids have an amazing school year :)

    Rach, my boys are grown but I have 4 little grands who live nearby. The oldest 2 are in school; my oldest grandson started Kindergarten this year. He was my sidekick, my little bud, my sunshine and I cried like a baby thinking he had to go to school this year. Where had the time gone? I grieved when my two boys went back, and college, let's don't even go there. Yep, I'm THAT Mom and grandmom. I wish someone had suggested to me to do ice cream, booze, whatever instead of sitting at home being lonely and feeling sorry for myself, lol. What a great idea!!!! I'm sharing this on one of my FB pages because I have followers who have smalls and could use the advice. Thanks so much for making me laugh. xoxTXDeb

    You do not look old enough to have a senior. My last one is a senior this year as well. 😥 You always have great tips!
    Those light up shoes are so neat! My sister just told me that my nephew is upset because his school banned light up shoes this year. The reason is because they draw attention if they are hiding in a dark classroom. It's so sad that's a concern these days.

    My son started school last Thursday. By Saturday he started getting flu like symptoms. Sure enough, he tested positive for Covid today. Funny, or not so funny, he got Covid for the first time last year around the same time at new middle school orientation. I know people have pretty much forgotten about Covid, but it’s still pretty painful to watch your child suffer as a parent. I got Covid for the first time last year too after he got it. I’m really hoping I don’t catch it this time around. Sending well wishes to all the kids starting school. May they be healthy or recover quickly. Nice video, Rachel!

    Your VERY lucky that your children can eat most things.
    My daughter has to spend a fortune on soyafree & dairyfree food for her youngest son also she makes a lot of it herself after going out to work.

    Hi Rachel where do you buy your label for kids clothes ?

    • @RachPlusFive
      @RachPlusFive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stamps on the clothes are from The Name Stamp. I found them on Instagram. The stickers are from them too but I’ve seen stickers just like these all over the internet.

  • @melissaortiz968
    @melissaortiz968 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What name labels would you recommend for clothing & lunch box water bottles ect. Can they be washed & still be visible?. Thankyou In advance..

    • @RachPlusFive
      @RachPlusFive  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The ones I used in this video are from The Name Stamp (over on Instagram). They are dishwasher safe and I’ve put that to the test haha. I’ve seen ones on Amazon and Etsy too that all claim the same thing. Haven’t personally tried those though. 😊

    • @melissaortiz968
      @melissaortiz968 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      & which ones for water bottles would the stamp work?

    • @RachPlusFive
      @RachPlusFive  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No. The stamp is for fabrics. The stickers are for water bottles, food containers, folders, notebooks, etc.

    My baby is going to Kindergarten this year! 😭 I need advice... so the school is a nut free zone here, all he eats is PB! And he's very picky, I don't know what to send him.

    • @RachPlusFive
      @RachPlusFive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We went through that and it’s rough! We had to move him to lunch meat and that took a lot of trial and error. Ended up sending mostly snacks and fruit in his lunchbox and gave him a pbj went he walked in the door.

    • @nicoletodd6
      @nicoletodd6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RachPlusFive Yes, lunch meat will be difficult for him. I don't want the school to think he doesn't eat, lol. But I don't wanna send stuff he won't eat like you said! How long did it take him to eat different foods.

    • @RachPlusFive
      @RachPlusFive  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had the same concern and I gave up worrying about the school and their opinions. Snacks (healthy and junk) made up the majority of his box for several weeks and I would throw in the lunch meat either in a sandwich or lunchable style. He got used to it eventually but it did take over a month before his lunchbox looked normal and not like a trip down the snack aisle of the grocery store. I also got a thermos and sent Mac and cheese or spaghettios on really rough days.

    I wanna ask What do you do for lice?

    • @RachPlusFive
      @RachPlusFive  ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually had a issue with lice two years ago. It took us weeks to get rid of them until I found the right way to handle it.
      Over the counter lice treatment. Comb all lice and eggs. Wash hair and then blow dry completely on highest setting (lice and eggs can’t stand the heat). Wash all bedding in hot water. Repeat the blow dryer for the next 3 days. Check hair in 1 week after treatment. If anything is there, repeat all steps.
      It sucks and sounds like a lot but it works! I hope you don’t have to use these steps and avoid it all together.
      They have lice repellent shampoo and leave in conditioner. We used those after we got clear and they help.

    With five children, you need to be organized. You would be pulling out your hair if you didn't. I thought your oldest was going away to college this year?
