I've flown in most of the Trislanders that Aurigny operated & whilst it's sad to see them go, it was time they went. Lucklly 3 are being preserved and put on display around the UK
Flew on one of those from dinard to Guernsey .one cold winter Sunday , early morning .I was the only passenger in the airport. And someone has to come to check me in. Then alone again in that yellow/red trislander watching the pilot in front . And then this gripping 30min low altitude flight over the Atlantic.
In the late 70s or early 80s I flew from Dorado Puerto Rico to the main airport in San Juan PR and back. The flight was eithe a TriLander or Islander, can't remember sad to say.... Since I was a licensed pilot and this craft is just a single pilot ship I got some stick time in it too I remeber..... Sad to see the old birds go extinct but 46 years is not bad actually...
I bought one of these in Microsoft Flight Simulator today... what a weird plane. Everything about it is weird; the cockpit, the instrument panel layout, the startup procedure, the landing gear, the handling, and of course the third engine. It takes off and lands well, but I don't know if I'm going to fly it much. It annoys me.
You know, in spite of the proximity to France there surely has never been a hord of my French or Breton countrymen getting on this plane but for these who have done it !! They won't forget it !! Well, I got an idea ! Why not revive it by promoting it in France and saying : Here is the best plane ever ! Through its large Windows the view is always fantastic and last but not least: it has never got any serious incident since 1965 !!!

Very interesting video. Funny looking plane, of which I had never heard before.
Amazing and unique airplane.
That is one cool looking aircraft. Thanks for posting!
these sounds are incredible !
It is a sad day for trislander lovers. 😢
These are beauties. Maybe not hi-tech but 46 years is nothing to sneeze at. You little planes, you have all earned a much deserved rest.
The propreller DC-10. Nice vid!
The Trislander wasn't a turboprop!
Well maybe, I was just looking at the 3rd engine and the cool short finals.
i remember these... poor man's DC10
Very interesting plane to look at.
Nice video
En Panama volaron trislander en rutas internas en los 70s grandes recuerdos
a small DC10 with propellers 🙂
flew on these to Isle of Scilly, great islander aircraft
Love for ever trislander
C'est très triste dans ce land.

Is it Islander with 3rd engine on tail ? Great video
Strangely, I like the way it looks, it has that "it will fly well" look that Boeing created.
Looks like a regional version of the A-90 Orlyonok :)
So what are they replacing them with?
Very nice. How come you don't get the usual floating propeller blade distortion?
It's all how you set the exposure speed.

Nice
Wow
qual o modelo desse avião
Está escrito no título do vídeo: *_Trislander._* É uma versão trimotor do Islander.
I could swear when I was a kid I saw a trilander reverse under its own power. Highly improbable right?
Jets did that all the time in the 80's. I remember seeing MD's release the buckets to reverse out the gate.
It was actually 42 years
Me: Mom can we have dc 10 at home?
Mom: we already have dc 10 at home.
dc 10 at home:
nice video..wkwkwk land
A tiny propjet DC-10!
It's piston powered.
lol they look crammed in there
islander was a thing of beauty, trislander not so much.
What the fuck is that thing? What were they smoking when they designed that?
Good video though, interesting to see some slightly unusual operations.
one of the ugliest planes i have ever seen.... right after the Shorts Skyvan
Carl Vogt these things were bloody brilliant, you only appreciate them if you have experienced their beauty.
