“My opinion is based on facts” (feelings)
Jordan’s time with the Bulls was 13 years - 2nd season was missed with a broken foot, more than half 94-95 was missed because he was playing baseball, so, 11.5 seasons
11.5 seasons. 10 scoring titles. 9 All Defensive First Teams. 3x steals leader meaning he was the best at stopping opponents possessions. Lebron has had 5 All Defensive Firsts in 19 seasons.
I watched both careers and have seen both live. I love both players. It’s not close.

    • @antoniochasten3192

The thing about the broken foot is Jordan missed 64 games that year yet he ONLY averaged 22.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game and shot 45.7 % from the field in the 18 regular season games he played. He returned to the Bulls shortly before the playoffs began but he was on time limit restriction meaning he was only playing 14 minutes per game until the playoffs. The Bulls got swept by the Celtics in the first round but he averaged 43.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 50.5 % from the field in the 3-game series. Larry Joe Bird during his press conference would go on record saying “I would never have called him the greatest player I'd ever seen if I didn't mean it. It's just God disguised as Michael Jordan.” One of the greatest to ever do it in Larry Bird says this about Jordan in only his second season in the league.

Lets not forget that when he came back to play with the wizards he scored 51 at 40 years old and 40 multiple times. Had he not torn his meniscus early that year after Hamilton came back it may of been something to see. They were on a 15-1 out of the last 16 games at the time.
I can't get the Mavs series out of my head for Lebron. He quit and has so many times and thats something you would never see MJ do ever. Hints the Flu game in the playoffs.

@@antoniochasten3192 - he was restricted to 7 minutes a half for the rest of the regular season when he came back. I’d say those are pretty respectable numbers for playing 14 minutes a game

They ain’t trying to hear it. Only things Lebron has is based on longevity. That’s it and nothing more needs to be said. There’s was zero weakness in his game and he light years ahead of Lebron with his mentality. Then again a lot of players have a better mentality then lebron. They just give excuses for everything. They don’t want to see the indivual stats per game and how in the playoffs he stepped his game up so hard that non of levrons playoffs run had numbers like MJ. He ain’t ish on scoring 45 a game during finals plus playing defense rebounding and assist. They don’t even understand the mind he had and how he intimated players. Lebron would’ve scared out his mind walking away saying okay okay then doing nothing while losing the game. Every series against MJ would’ve been Dallas every time

Let me give you a statistical breakdown you wanted and compare him to Lebron.
    Career averages for steals
Michael Jordan: 2.3 steals for per game
Lebron James: 1.6 steals per game
    Career averages for blocks
    Michael Jordan: 0.83
    Lebron James: 0.76
Also consider Jordan is 3 inches shorter and 50 pounds lighter and still averaged more blocks per game for his career
Highest steals per game average in a season
    Michael Jordan: 3.2
    Lebron James: 2.2
Highest block per game average in a season
    Michael Jordan: 1.6
    Lebron James: 1.1
Led position in defensive win shares
Michael Jordan: 10 times out of 15 seasons (note that it would’ve been 12 had Jordan qualified in 1984-1985, 1994-1995 season but due to not enough games played he didn’t)
Lebron James: 4 times out of 19 seasons
    Led league in steals
    Michael Jordan: 3 times
    Lebron James: 0 times
    Defensive player of the year
    Michael Jordan: 1 time
    Lebron James: 0 times

My knee-jerk reaction to the reaction was that it struck me the same way crooked cops do when they bend the evidence to fit their beliefs instead of bending their beliefs to fit the evidence... or like the old checkpoint charlie DUI stops where they stop everyone at designated spots and treat them like their drunk until they can prove that they aren't. If you can't put personal bias aside, your opinion can't be changed, meaning that there's no sense in anyone watching the reaction because they know what they're going to get before they ever press play.
Tell you what, why don't you lookup 'Michael Jordan Best Passing Highlights' give it a watch, then pull up your favorite video of LeFlop Passing Highlights, and then give me your favorite examples and tell me at what spot (00:00) I should start watching. Or hell, just pull up 'Michael Jordan's Historic Bulls Mixtape' or 'Michael Jordan Best Rare Video Ever Voyager', then pull up your favorite LeTravel Highlights, play them simultaneously on separate screens, and other than making fun of Dirk being sick during the DAL/MIA Finals, missing shots, missing FT, quitting on his team during a game, deciding to go to the bench on his own, narrowly avoiding an airball while trying to duplicate someone else's eyes-closed free throw, having a career FG 37% when shooting from more than 3' (FEET) away from the rim, using karate kick defense, asking to come out of games, taking days off, throwing teammates under the bus, anointing himself royalty before ever stepping onto an NBA court, being a 17 year old junior in high school listed as 'CHOSEN ONE' on the cover of Sports Illustrated and having his high school games shown on ESPN, whining, complaining, flopping, traveling, etc, etc, etc, show me what it is specifically that LeBron does, or ever did better than Jordan.
There's a big difference between doing something more than someone else did, and doing it better. Nick Wright says LeFlop's bigger, faster, and stronger, and I admit that he is bigger and faster. But since when is a 4.6 40 faster than a 4.38 40? Pull up MJ's accolades and tell me how those 9 all-defensive first teams, Defensive Player of the Year award and 3-time steals leader, how that somehow makes LeBron the better defensive player. Tell me how MJ's 10 scoring titles and 30 ppg career average magically makes LeBron the better offensive player? If you and i play 1-on-1, by all means, feel free to pass me the ball and try jumping for rebounds because all I care about is scoring points and winning. And when you lose and lose badly, no worries, because your fanboys will reassure you that you're a better teammate, and that somehow, that makes you the GOAT.

Michael Jordan is the only guard in NBA history to be in the top 5 in both blocks per game and steals per game at either guard positions.
Led the league in steals 3 times.
9 time first team all NBA defense (still tied for the most ever) including 1 defensive player of the year.
To date, there are only 4 players to have over 200 steals and 100 blocks in a single season. Michael Jordan did it twice.
Just as it is on offense, Michael Jordan is the far superior player.

Michael Jordan's offense was a result of his intensity on defense...you'll never ever see LeBron play defense with the same level of intensity or determination that MJ did....wow! I'm surprised to hear you say that you're not impressed with MJs defense....he was all over the court running down player after player blocking shots, intercepting passes sometimes with 1 hand or 2, and stealing the ball from guys much bigger and stronger than he was....He won Defensive Player of the Year the SAME season he won the Scoring Title!!! NO one in the NBA has ever done that, NOT even your favorite hero, LeBron! MJ's defensive skills, timing, energy, and IQ were off the charts good that no one's ever seen before...so many players, coaches (past and present) speak so highly of talents on defense and offense.....what more does he need to show? He left it all on the court....debating this stuff is useless because MJ set the bar so high that players are constantly chasing his greatness...Look what MJ accomplished and earned in 13 full seasons and then look at LeBron's career...not even close!! A Hall of Fame career separates them....just sayin'

While Bron has made some of the same defensive plays as Jordan (according to you anyway) - what Bron has NEVER done is be a consistent defender. He has huge lapses, he takes plays off, sometimes he doesn’t even get back across half court - he just watches and waits for someone to toss him the ball again.
Those are things NO ONE ever said about MJ. Even in his Wizards days he was a better defender than LJ. There’s a reason MJ was 10 times all defense (and 1 DPOY while also winning MVP and the scoring title that same year) - how many times has LJ done that? Let alone in a single season?
Is LJ an incredible and gifted basketball player? Absolutely! Is he as good or better than MJ? Not even close. - I don’t have LJ in my top 5 but that’s just me.

    • @Tcheera
      @Tcheera ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey don't hyper-inflate, MJ was only all defense 9x (with DPOY) while winning the scoring title 10x haha. And yeah he averages both more blocks and steals than LeBron, but y'know LeBron has to rest on defense so that he can... not score as much during an era when scoring is up like what? at least 30% per game? But you know how MJ is -- how he always had to rest on defense and take all those games off to rest during the season. Oh wait, nvm, he never did that. He only took off when he had to have surgery or be in a cast for a serious injury out the season.
Oh wait but the argument that LeBron is so old and that's why he can't be all defense anymore. He hasn't cracked all defense since he was like 29, and hasn't hit 2nd team since he was 30. But MJ was first team still at 35.

Jordan didn't care if his team was ahead by 50 pts, 1 pt., or 50 pts down or 1 pt down to another team...He literally played EVERY possession like it was his last on planet Earth!!! unlike LeBron who plays defense whenever he feels like it or when he's had enough 'rest' so that he could play more on offense......I think it's super funny how many times Michael Jordan stole the ball and then SCORED buckets!! His defense was his offense....that's one of the many many reasons on why he's obviously a much greater player than anyone else on the court....these are the facts and they are undisputed....peace!

    Jordan on Defense
He was the first player in history to be selected to 9 All Defensive First teams.
He was the first player in history to get 200 steals and 100 blocks in a season, it has still only been done by 3 players. (Michael did it twice).
He was the steals leader 3 times.
He's the only guard in history, relative to his position, both in the Top 5 for blocks and Top 5 for steals.
He was the defensive Player of the Year and Scoring Champion in the same year, the only player in history to accomplish this.
His 131 blocks for the 1988 season is still the most blocks in a season by a guard in NBA history.

I'm 46- Michael Jordan's defense was better haha. I saw it. All the time. His slam dunk contest had me in awe because we'd never seen anything like him. Every night (not rest nights, not injuries) we were on the edge of our seats. When the Pistons would slam him to the ground we would worry if he might not get back up for the game let alone the season but aside from that one injury 2nd season he ALWAYS got back up. And yes we waited for him to boom on big men - that was great, but we watched him hustle, steal, and go all out and seriously the man played almost every game almost every year with very few exceptions. And they hardly ever sat him down to rest -- literally just minutes.
He didn't rest on defense, he didn't let up, not ever. I'm not going to try and sell you some lies like he never had a bad game. Yep - he had a couple. And I'm not going to say he played perfectly -- sometimes the big man would get him, or sometimes those double or triple teams would work and he'd lose the ball. And the Bulls lost a LOT of games, especially earlier in his career, but even when he was at his peak, they still lost games because they were against some HARD teams and some tough competition. But... it didn't happen nearly as much as it should have considering.
There are a lot of great players from then I enjoyed watching and there are some players today I enjoy watching -- but watching full games start to finish I've never seen someone BOTH have the fire and the ability all round that this man has. Never seen it even close both sides of the floor. He was like watching art. He's not just a once in a generation player, he's a once in a lifetime player IMO. I get excited if I see just a fraction of the fire and skill I saw in him. And yeah some of the stuff he did back then would be a foul now -- but it wasn't back then so if he played any less hard on defense he'd be weaksauce. He played SO hard and not dirty and killed them both technically and with ability -- I think the most underrated part of his game (and my dad agrees even though he's a Bird fan and not an MJ fan) is how smart he was. He had better full court anticipation about what the other team was gonna do and made more critical defensive plays to force turnovers and convert them to game changing points -- including the very last TWO plays of his career with the Bulls.

The reason why Michael is so much better than Lebron on defense, particularly 1 on 1, is because of his effort and relentlessness on D. Dude said he wasn’t seeing anything special or something he’d never seen. That’s not the point of defense, it’s not supposed to be glamorous which is why guys in the league now don’t play defense very well because there’s no glamour in playing D because it’s built on effort and “want to.” You can demoralize a man more by locking him down than scoring on him because it’s extremely frustrating to have someone in your grill the whole game. Lebron has never been confused as a great on ball defender he’s a better team defensive player. Lebron’s blocks were mostly chase down blocks and he wasn’t the type of guy to get a lot of steals either even in his prime. I got a lot of respect for Lebron but Jordan was the superior defender no questions asked

There weren't too many other players that could do what he was doing on defense. He had an explosive first step, lightning quick reflexes, long arms, the highest vertical, some of the highest basketball IQ in the league, and an undying intesity to incessantly hound the ever living hell out of anyone he was playing against. Unlike Lebron who's defense has been on the decline for the last what, 7, 8 years now? The guy who flops, the guy who sometimes doesn't even bother to raise his hands, the guy who sometimes doesn't even bother running up the court to get back on defense? You _really_ think that guy's defense is even remotely close to Jordan's??? Sorry but no. Hell no! Not even close.

It’s jordan by a mile. Lebron was a great defender for a few years at best and serviceable for a few more years. He’s been TERRIBLE the last 6 years or so just in effort alone. And effort is 33% of defense along with skill and IQ. It’s not even a convo. Mj’s better one on one, is just as good hood off ball, is much better stealer and shot blocker, and he actually has the ability to lockdown opposing stars. Lebron hasn’t locked anyone up. He’s played okay enough defense to help slow someone for small periods but that’s it.

LBJ and players today don’t even guard their great opponents. They switch on every pick, create a mismatch, play 1v1.
