Can you abandon your pet cat at the vet and shirk your responsibilities as a pet owner?
Bruno was a cute cat with striking blue eyes, living a peaceful life in Los Angeles. His life took a sudden turn when, one day, his owner decided to abandon him at an animal hospital. Bruno didn't understand what was happening as he was caged and taken to an unfamiliar place. Realizing he had been left behind, Bruno became frightened and aggressive, not letting anyone come near him.
In the first few days after being abandoned, Bruno huddled in the corner of his cage, eyes filled with fear and suspicion. He refused to eat or drink, glaring at everyone around him with hostility. The staff at the animal hospital tried to approach him, but all they received were growls and swipes of anger.
News about Bruno quickly reached an animal rescue team. They knew Bruno needed help, not just physically but emotionally as well. Early one morning, the rescue team arrived at the animal hospital to take Bruno to their shelter. They understood that this journey wouldn't be easy, but none of them were willing to give up.

To watch this about Bruno made me cry,, some people don't deserve to have a pet ,,those cruel people need to be fined and arrested to do prison time ,,,a friend of mine found a baby Chihuahua only a month old it was abandoned behind a service station ,,the puppy was sick I got it well and she's 5 months old now and beautiful her name is treks ,,she's my baby ,, my company ,,God created all of these beautiful creatures for us to take care of and love not hurt them ,,I am so happy Bruno is doing good now ,, love you Bruno 😅❤

My cat was just like bruno her former owner abandoned her at the shelter in one week she was adopted by 7 families and returned the same day she was adopted by each family i adopted her in 2016 when she was 4 years old 2024 precious wil be 12 years old and it will be our 8 year anniversary as a family ❤🥰💕

It is so wild to abandon beautiful kitten. It is difficult for him to trust humans again. Kittens are like family members. I don't understand such "humans".
Thank you for being so patient with Bruno he seems like a high stressed cat with a lot of aggression towards people he did not know. He got used to people pettibg him and feeding him.

Poor baby, how can anyone be so cruel I'll never understand. Im😢 so glad you rescued him and showed him love and that he could trust again. He was so hurt that he was "venting" his hurt feelings in the beginning. Cats do have feelings too. This family will be very blessed to have adopted Bruno bc he's gonna be a very sweet, loving, precious fur baby boy ❤ I've adopted many in all my years ( im older of course) and in always amazed at the love they give me. I suspect there was more to Bruno's aggression than being abandoned. It took patience, perseverance, experience and skill (plus a lot of time, and pain) to bring Bruno out of his wild responses. I had a wild child, and try as l might l could never socialize her with the other cats. So she had her own room, careful attention, food and litter. If my niece had taken her to the pound she would not have survived. I'm so glad Bruno was socialized in the end.

Bruno is a very beautiful cat. This cat will never ever leave your side once you earn his trust and love. I rescue cats and have learned so much about them, no wonder the Egyptians held them in such high regard, where it was a capital offense to harm a cat.

There are many animal abusers and unfortunately many own pets (they should never) and the animals bear a high price. I thank all who helped in the rescue of this beautiful cat who needs to be subjected to a permanent home with lots of love and it will return (at some point) to trusting its new safe place for the rest of its life. The previous abusive owner needs to be charged (if known) for animal abuse and jailed . They should never be allowed to own any pets ever again.
Hopefully there will soon be laws for animal abusers around the world. I know it is difficult to control them. because they dumped their dogs and cats in the dark and without anyone witnessing them. There are countless ways to let them abandon them. so sad

Bruno was so scared and confused after being abandoned...my heart was in tears for him. Such a beautiful boy! He did heal, though thanks to some fabulously patient, (and semi-masochistic) people.
How anyone can walk away from a pet is beyond my comprehension. I've had cats in my heart, life and home since age 6, I'm 62 now, and have 6 living with me. One was born in my home, one is a fosterling, and the other 4 are rescues, (my tuxedo boy adopted me by walking in the door!) and all were promised a lifetime home with me. For the first time in my life I am homeless, and sleeping on a friend's floor. My kitties are in the bathroom. My friend is taking quite a risk by having my family here; he could lose his apartment due to his lease. Oh did I mention, as much as he likes my kids, he's allergic to their dander? So, there's all that, too.

Yeah, when you whole world is upside down and you have no control and you are scare and angry, how else would sweet Brutus act. I am glad that they were all so patient with him and used love to conquer his anger and apprehension. Poor guy, I am happy he found some peace and solace in the end. What a cutie!

Glad Bruno is able to feel love and be loved in return. We don't know why his previous owner didn't return for him. The hard part is Vet costs and care have become so expensive. There can be other circumstances as well that we don't know about. Sometimes there are no options . Been reading a lot about abandonment of pets in the last little while. I'm not saying it's right or it should happen.
I think that if there is not enough money to continue raising or treating them, the owner should at least send them to rescue stations or donate them to others. That's the way to keep them from being abandoned

I agree. I think he was mistreated & beaten. No cat shows such reaction to being "dumped" - as in resentful - to me it's more fear aggression & mistrust. Something horrid happened to make him like this, even at the end of the film although he'd come a long way, he still looked very wary & distrustful, just clock his stiffened body & uneasy expression 😔

It's also possible that the owner doesn't have enough money to pay the hospital bills and he's avoiding responsibility. but anyway that's not good. Do not place responsibility on others

The reason cats get like that is because they love us so deeply and when someone they love and trust turns on them, they get emotionally wrecked and lash out. They are so hurt, heartbroken 💔
This is why it takes time with cats, because they are so loving loyal and emotionally complex sentient beings. All cats want is to love us and for us to love them back 💓
This is why it takes time to earn the love of a cat, they are intelligent and sensitive. People need to be better to cats.

They are born bosses and should be respected as one, that made us slaves to them. If we ain’t ready for that adopt one when we are.
Remember that, cat’s personality mirrors ours.
It's not hard to train boundaries and to have them know you're the boss. Keep them fed and they will behave.

Por eso hay que hablarle y decirle que su dueño era un ser repugnante que lo usó y lo abandonó. La incertidumbre les hace mucho daño. Me pasó con una de mis gatas actuales cuya dueña murió, ella me miraba con odio,me rugió igual que un león, se alejaba de mí. Le hablé mucho, pero mucho lo que pasó. Ellos entienden.Creo que todo ese estres que vivió le causó el hipertiroidismo que aún tiene.

I had a similar issue. My friend passed off cancer and nobody in the family would take her.I took her other cat. But I have 13 cats so took her to our shelter. But only a week and a half later I got a call from the shelter. I was told that she swiped at one of the staff and that I had to get her by 4:00 that day because they were killing her. Their exact words.I had no car mine was totaled. So a friend got her that morning. I kept her. She does not like other cats.
Cats are like humans, they also have psychological damage, they know sadness, happiness, anger and even despair. Always take care of your cats, you're great

It may be that they fell on hard times, couldn't afford to feed him. I try to see both sides. I've been on hard times when I needed to sacrifice some of what I NEEDED to feed my cats, bit I pulled through. Had things stayed that way I'd need to remove them and if no one I knew and trusted could do it.. at least a vet knows HOW. My girls are still with me and their needs come first even if I have to go without sometimes
