We filmed this wedding at Balcombe Place in West Sussex.
Centrally positioned off the A23, Balcombe Place in Haywards’s Heath, West Sussex is a huge, grade II-listed country house wedding venue that sits within acres of quintessential English countryside.
Balcombe Place has a long and distinguished history in Sussex so I was really looking forward to shooting Fiona and Brett’s wedding videography there.
West Sussex Wedding Videography
Constructed in 1856, Balcombe Place is positioned atop an expanse of green lawn accessed by a grand drive. Boasting beautiful views across the South Downs, Balcombe’s location is really convenient for London, Tunbridge Wells, Brighton and Gatwick Airport.
The team are really flexible so you can use the venue however you want. There are five spaces inside the house plus the gardens and wider estate to choose from so there is plenty of choice.
Balcombe Place has long been the home of Lords and Ladies so you can expect lots of ornate decor and pretty architecture such as the intricately decorated front door of the Main House.
The Entrance Hall provides a warm welcome with its chestnut brown wood panelling, decorative ceiling and pretty stone floor. Further inside, the Main Hall is a large, open space that offers plenty of versatility, complete with wood panelled walls, sofas, a statement fireplace and a striking staircase.

For your wedding ceremony, Balcombe’s landscaped gardens, beautiful front lawn and numerous rooms deliver a brilliant variety of choice for the place where you choose to exchange your vows.
Elegantly decorated with a magnificent marble fireplace, elaborate carvings, large bay windows and luxurious decor, the Drawing Room is a gorgeous space that you’ll want to put on display at some point during the day.
Often used for the wedding ceremony or as additional space during the wedding reception, the Drawing Room is a versatile area that can be accessed via the Library if you wish.
The Music Room is a decadent place furnished with everything from a minstrels’ gallery to dazzling chandeliers, an arched ceiling, bay windows and wood panelling. With so much on display the Music Room provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding reception to remember.
Elegantly decorated with a magnificent marble fireplace, elaborate carvings, large bay windows and luxurious decor, you’ll want to make use of the Drawing Room on. Often used for the wedding ceremony or as additional space during the wedding reception, this is a versatile room that can be accessed via the Library.
Lined with tall bookcases and wood panelling, the Library makes a great chill out area, whilst the Billiard Room and the Dining Room provide further spaces for your use.
Once the party is over, Balcombe Place also has ten, elegant en-suite rooms for you and your guests to enjoy.

Balcombe Place can be booked for a full weekend as well as just for a day. With loads of space and plenty of rooms it can make a great place for a multi-day celebration as well as a one day event.
