I'm with you guys, I want 20-30 acres and I'll put my house or RV right in the middle. I'd rather look at nature than a bunch of trashed out mobile homes!
I have lived in Corpus Christi all my life. If the property you are looking at on the Nueces River is off of County Road 73, Run! It does not flood there too often but when it does it gets high. It is not a good area to be in. Known drug activity. Good luck in your property search.
I recommend a 3-4 hr. Drive max to get to a piece of property. You can leave Thursday after work and still have 2 1/2 days to work on your property before you have to head home sunday afternoon or even early Monday morning. I did this 3-4 times a month for 8 years before moving to my property full time. Good luck in your search. You'll know it's right when you see it. 👍
Just found your channel. Keep making videos you and your wife are amazing. Really like you're down to earth videos. I'm not the straightest thing in Texas. 😅😂
i really enjoy watching your videos sense i found your channel...Elisabeth is a very beautiful lady and she is very brave handling venomous snake and things she does. She seems like a really awesome lady
Dang y’all ridin dirty?😂 You know I have property out west and love the open skies and views but live water is very rare and comes at a premium. It’s definitely a trade off Chris, hope you guys find your dream place in Texas, you’re the kind of quality people we need in the Lone Star state.
Damn. Sorry to hear about the job ghosting you guys but I hope you guys have luck finding the perfect property!! Excited to see the next piece of land! Also I see you birding!!!!
I've just started watching your channel from northern Wisconsin beautiful woods, waters, and wildlife. and learned something new today a MO- KAY motorized kayak cool hope you find "that Property " that suits your needs.
We had a Fudruckers, but it closed down about 15 years ago. It was great! I miss it. We used to call it Rudd's, for short, so that if someone started that way and did the extended version it would be awkward. ;-)
Just discovered your channel, subscribed, and binged watch a ton of your videos. Fantastic channel!! And now you have almost 32K subscribers. From binge watching your stuff -- your stuff after Guam is a lot better -- much better camera work and video quality -- more interesting adventures -- and great stories --- I think your best stuff so far is your corpus christi stuff -- but everything after Guam is really good. Will keep watching and rooting for you. Really hope your channel keeps growing! It looks like it is. You passed that 10K subscriber mark -- which is hard -- so yeah -- you're doing great!
Properties on the border for sure. Actual money revenue streams if you don’t mind setting up a couple RV or camp sites for adventure motorcycle or overlander people.
Love the property you love also! Better to be so isolated in my opinion as well 🤷🏻♀️. Also hope you don't hate me but my favorite part of your video was Fuddruckers. That's my favorite burger place hands down 😂 love you guys! 💜
I live in CC. I wanted to let you know that county road 73 where you where is not only flood prone but there is a lot of narcotics activity on that road. The sheriff's office is very familiar with this place.
I frickin love your videos. You have so much positivity, humor, and a fun outlook on life. I finished up my summer truck camper road trip, currently sitting in Vietnam and appreciate having this video to watch in my down time. I hope you get to buy a property and I'm looking forward to more videos of you guys fixing it up and enjoying it when you decide on one! Keep on being amazing souls.
There used to be a Fudruckers near me in MD. It shut down a couple years ago. We do have a 5 Guys but I wont eat there anymore. It is $18.35 for a 1/4lb burger and the baby size fry.
Plus there is gonna be a serious water supply issue, lots of wells already drying up and the lakes are at record lows. But keep on developing! Politicians have been bought, no surprise there.
@@texasyardmanandmore3822 show me 5 acres on live water for 100k and I’ll buy tomorrow, it doesn’t exist. I’ve been in Spring Branch area for 20 years, peoples wells are drying up, Canyon Lake is at record lows. To portray it as an aquatic wonderland is pure BS. We have people moving here from out of state falling for that lie but there’s a reckoning coming.
The areas in between IH45 and IH 35 is a good balance of dry good soil, less rock, dryer than east TX but wetter than West Texas and if you get 20-30 minutes in from the interstate the land prices are much more reasonable. Don’t buy any land that isn’t at least 1/2 outside the 100 year floodplain. Don’t buy anything without a title policy and survey before closing.
Great adventures, Chris and Elizabeth. We wish you luck with your Ford transmission, of course! You get into the weirdest adventures and terrain. The property or area that you seem to be looking at in East Texas might be in what was generally the landing point of debris from the Columbia shuttle disintegration on reentry back in 2003. The debris swath was wide, and not completely verified or searched in extreme detail. I believe that most large pieces of debris were recovered, but I would not be surprised if you were to find odd bits of metal or composite in the less travelled areas or your potential landhold. Not to be a downer, but just to link your travels to history. Cheers!
I like this channel. If I had to buy one those properties, it would be the wide open land near the boarder so that would make me an idiot also. You couldn't give me those creepy aligator infested marsh lands. If I were considering the open land near the boarder, I would just drive over to Yuma and borrow a couple of A1 Abrams tanks and a rail gun to keep any unwanted trespassors at bay. The dog is awesome as well. I love how you guys are enjoying the journey!
Y'know we used to have a Fuddruckers way up here in Edmonton as I recall, either in or somewhere close to the West Edmonton Mall. Back then the Mall was the biggest in the World but I suspect it has been surpassed a few times over by now. I'm digging the property by the Mexican Border and I don't think your crazy, I mean your at least as bonkers as I am and I put my pants on one sleeve at a time just like everyone else. The biggest draw I see is that if you put your trailer on it there's a big chance you won't have to use your boat to go searching for it everytime it rains, like the properties in today's video. Also, damn if it's not a gorgeous piece of land!! Looking forward to seeing the next place, oh and by the way, Happy 2025!!! I've been getting caught up since Christmas trying to find a surgeon to tackle my shoulders, but seeing as I'm Diabetic, the Doctors I've seen don't want to take a chance that I might get an infection, to which I replied, isn't that MY risk, as opposed to yours? Then they seem to get angry when I explain that they are merely the Meat Plumbers in this relationship and the decision should ultimately be mine, and you should be less concerned with your reputation. Man, do they hate being called Meat Plumbers though, rips right through that pretentious façade!! Anyway, glad to see you back, you're all looking fine and happy, and I hope you find your Spot down there!! I think about you three often and keep hoping something Fantastic finds it's way to you!! My dad ran into that with a couple of docs about getting his cataracts taken care of. He found one recently that will do them as long as his A1C is in the range his endocrinologist signed off on (we did that extra step in advance this time). Some docs just assume the worst and don’t want to take the risk. You might have to come south to the US to get it done? Or maybe farther south to Mexico if you can’t find a surgeon in Canada …
@@Jani_F The thing is my numbers are stable, so much so that 2 yrs ago I was taken off of insulin altogether! My A1C is consistently below 7 and since I was diagnosed as Diabetic Type 2 in 2013 I have dropped over 130lbs and had already quit smoking by 2010. I have a couple more avenues here to explore but if I have to and can afford it I have no issue at all looking to the USA or Mexico (Costa Rica, Panama etc.) for treatment. I like the property by the border but didn’t get a sense of the size of each lot and if the others got built on. Boat access sounds like a great adventure.
Hope you have time to read the Comments with folks' suggestions of areas to look into that have a lot of natural areas to explore, points of interest. For the flood plains..have read several comments from viewers who used to live there and advise you stay away. I used to live on the river in Corpus Christi a little farther upstream from where you were looking at. When it flooded I would use a small John boat to get to the house. I really wouldn’t recommend living there. We moved to the Texas hill country in the Kerrville area but are now looking at moving back to the coast. Looking forward to your next video.

Hey Guys! I know the property out near Comstock very well. Its got potential. I think the last people out there left due to the well drying up. That river used to be like 15+ foot higher. That would be your biggest challenge. Being right on the border isnt a big deal. A few things you should know.... Its attached to that rest area, so theres constant traffic. Also, every summer you will have snake hunters out there at night. They look for snakes on the road cuts throughout the night. Also, spring is very windy! 30+ mph. If you guys made it a rv park, it may do well. Not sure though with Seminole State Park and Amistad right there.

The property on the border appeals to me. I am a Texan that has been in the High Bridge and Amistad area often over the years fishing and camping. Only drawback is the severe summer heat and possible encounters with snakes, spiders, scorpions and certain elements from across the border. But with the new president the certain element encounters may change soon. Good luck with your search and enjoy, the best to you.
