As to why the droid is able to go under the head, the designers thought it was just a fun little thing to add so they could include a figure, saying they know these aren’t ships with pilots but thought it’d be fun
Looking at the vulture droids now, seems like the head is proportionally too big for the body, and the body too big for the wings (or the wings too short) which makes them look a little off, but getting a vulture droid figure again is nice, and the wings being able to open in flight mode was a nice surprise. Hoping this set shows up in Australia some time, definitely looking to pick this one up.
Agreed! I hope all are able to get this set. It’s a lot of fun. For sure there are always going to be small cheats that the manufacturers need to make to get these toys to market. I do really like that we are getting this model and paint scheme!

Awesome! It’s worth the wait. The vulture droids were much better than I expected. I wasn’t a huge fan of them but was pleasantly surprised.

Oh man, I Loved my Action Fleet vulture droid! I didn't know the droid fighters had a crawler mode at all until I glanced at the packaging on the shelf way back when. There's no mention of it in the film. I loved the way it transformed and thought the crawler mode was amazing. I'm surprised you're so down on it, it's so posable; I recall standing it on 3 legs and aiming a cannon claw. My only disappointment was it had all this amazing flexible engineering, but the head couldn't turn. It never occurred to me that it was too big, but at the time, it had too little screen presence in Phantom Menace to establish size for me. I prefer the AF proportions and functions, even if the scale is off. MGS version looks stubby, usually it's the opposite! I think this is the only vehicle so far where I prefer the action fleet version. I didn't need a minifig, the whole crawler was the figure!
I agree the engineering with action fleet was amazing. The ships were never designed to be in scale with each other like MGS tries to do. Either way both are awesome! Thanks for the comment!

I have to say that the action fleet figures had a better paint job. I wish they could use the same techniques that they used in the 90's
There is definitely a difference for sure. The newer figures are really well done since they figures out how to do the tiny details. Unfortunately, Action Fleet was all hand painted and would cost a fortune to produce now. Hopefully the manufacturing process continues to improve! Definitely harder on some of those tiny parts and some of the MGS figures look clunky.
Man I want one of this set, but I don't live in the USA and ebay is full of mega scalpers for this, not to mention the shipping fee...
It has been spotted in Canada at toys r us so let’s hope it will hit other countries also!

My droids didn’t come with Yellow! Also the faces on your obi and anakin are super white! WTH
Interesting, I haven’t heard of the droids not coming with yellow. The face color is probably because of the light I am using, they are the typical peach/beige color.
Do you think this set is worth it ?
My target has a bunch of these for $50
For $50 it’s a little much to be honest. You are really paying for the vulture droids. Hopefully it will be discounted on the future. I think $40ish is where the value is.

My Target had these for $25 on sale. I got the last one in the store.
@@coolguy91975 they ran a really heavy discount for a while. Hopefully we will see more heavy discounts and clearance items soon!
