I love this set, and I really only have one complaint. With all the effort they went to to make the decos as accurate as possible, R4 just being a repainted R5 unit instead of a new head sculpt is disappointing.

20:30 - It's not an R4 mold. It's an R5 with an R4 paint scheme. The updated Canopy molds look better and more accurate. Too bad they had to go with the kid-friendly engines. Guess they couldn't at least kept the nozzles the same size?

The set is missing Red 6. Jek Porkins! His X-wing is pretty cool looking, has a red canopy. How could they forget Porkins!! PS: Check out the pre-battle shots of the Fighters going in. Special Edition = 22 X-Wings and 8 B-Wings. OG Version = 14 X-Wings and 3 B-Wings. But we hear "Gold 5". We also hear or see "Red 9" and "Red 10". But not the actual X-Wings. I think each squad maxes out at 12. In both OG and SE versions, Red 2 is re-used. Even in some photo-op posters, Red 2 model is used with R2-D2 head. Because of the toys, kid brains, and photos - All X-Wings appeared to have a single red stripe on the side.

Congrats on getting this set, the different deco on all five ships, makes it a must have, pity it's not a larger edition size. I wish Jazwares would release multipacks of mini figs with the updated deco. Also I did wait until yesterday to open the Secret Mission Ghost set, you were right it is awesome!

Actually the passenger seats were part of the Infiltartor's original design. If you look at the Star Wars Incredible Cross Sections book the cockpit shows several extra seats behind the main pilot seat. Also, Maul's instructions were to capture Queen Amidala. Better to have her in the cockpit where he can keep tabs on her than in the cargo hold or living area.

Awesome review Kevin, great work on those custom AF X-wings. The Vault Red Squadron set is awesome, thanks for posting Rebelscale's images and making all the comparisons. I only have one tiny nitpick with the set, just wish they could have fixed the wing-gap when closing the s-foils. A lingering issue since series 1.

It looks bigger than how it’s suppose to be in relation to the pilot figure. How does it compare with the Micro Galaxy X Wing and A Wing?

Hey there, I just bought this U wing tonight with my daughter to play with but we can't seem to get the cock pit open. I accidentally bent the plastic trying to open it.. it's almost like its stuck or something. Is there some kind of button or release mechanism I'm missing? Thanks!

I wish the UK, or more specifically Scotland, had like Target or Walmart since from what I always hear they always have cool stuff like The Black Series, Micro Galaxy Squadron and early Lego sets, since the shops I go to don't really have that great selection for these things

Hey Kevin, clean up that paint wash inside of the button on the landing dock with some swabs and rubbing alcohol. Fixed the same issue on my Ghost!

It looks cool, but theres so much waisted space. If you're not a box collector the "extravagant" is pointless and if you are a box collector it take up so much room.

Hopefully if they remake this as a common in a future series they release Jek-14's E Wing as the Chase version.

This is the first set I bought mainly only to get 1 ship, the hologram X wing. The b wing I gave to my friend for his birthday and the rest I gave away to toys for tots, so some lucky kid will get these ships next week for Christmas

It's cool to get some Phase One trooper officers. Definitely want the yellow trim Clone Commander. Speaking of officers I do hope MGS decides to make the Arc Trooper Lieutenant with blue trim which came in the Tiger Shark LAAT along with Captain Fordo red trim and a Clone Pilot. The Gunship could use more than one Arc Trooper Lieutenant as in the cartoon series. Good to see Durge though from the cartoon.

Ngl I'm really happy to see that we're getting more ST stuff. I'd definitely buy Rey's AT-AT home from TFA and I'd love to see the GB-134 speeders from TLJ since those are such a great design that evokes the Tie Fighter despite being their own thing (although they're probably too big for a Scout Class toy and too small for a Light Armor Class toy)

The Brutus figure is thr coolest figure toncome out since.... gosh probably old Master Maul or Darth Malgus or Live action Cad Bane. Yeah Brutus is elite levels of coolness.
