I also love to collect E-zines as a way to connect with other artists, so definitely looking forward receiving yours. You are also the living prove you don't need a huge studio or lots of art stuff to make beautiful artwork even I can imagine it sometimes will be a challenge . I would love to make this year an E-zine myself , I tried before a printed booklet but that is too expensive in production to sell , I also want to get back into daily sketching to finish all my started sketchbooks and making art on all the panels , canvases I have waiting to be used instead of buying new . The Tree book looks gorgeous . Your itinerary looks so exciting can't wait to see your video's (if you intend to share it) . Good luck on your trip , good vibes for sketching and I wish you a wonderful and peaceful year in this crazy scary world 🍀
Can't wait to see your travels again. It gives me positive things to focus on in the horrible time of yesr, and makes me feel more hopeful. Congratulations on your book! Amazing work! 🎉
Beautiful work in that Tree book! I just received your Zine and really enjoyed it. Seeing the Puffin illustrations was so fun after watching the TH-cam about that trip, it does feel like a bit of a connection. Can’t wait to see what comes from your next adventures - have fun!
Another great video, Holly! Loved seeing that big beautiful book and your amazing work in there. Can't wait to get a copy for myself! It's also nice hearing about your art and travel plans - it seems like a lot of exciting things will be happening next year. I'm happy that you're planning on making more zines in the future. I really empathize with the want to have more community as artists. I actually have pretty similar art goals for this year. I'd like to make my first ever zine based off of my time living here in Georgia. I also just want to be able to finally sell some of my work and have the confidence I need in order to do so. I've been an artist for years now and have had zero luck with any sort of sales/commissions, etc, but I know that's because I've always been so afraid of putting myself out there and doing what needs to be done, as well as lacking the confidence in myself. I also have some art projects that I want to delve into, including a children's book that I've been brainstorming for years now. Hopefully 2025 will be the year of creativity and getting things done! I also just hit the 5k on my TH-cam channel just a few minutes ago, which is exciting! Really trying to get my channel monetized and be able to make some money off of my work. Looking forward to the future! It's been such a treat following your journey over the years! ❤😊
I’m really looking forward to receiving my zine (you posted it to Tasmania, so it might take a while 😊). I’m doing a no spend year in 2025, so I’m very tempted to order the Tree Atlas before then! It looks absolutely beautiful. Wishing you, Craig and the doggos a very safe journey to warmer climes over the winter months….cant wait to see what you get up to! xx
Beautiful art as always, Holly, and I'm super excited for your forthcoming travels! A very happy new year to you, Craig, Midge and wee piggy, Quentin. May we see a free Palestine 🧡
Excited to follow your Moroccan adventures. Unfortunately can’t recommend for there but in Andalusia I can vouch for El Torcal de Antequera and the lakes above Ardales and El Chorro and yes zines are something I’m currently creatively exploring 😊
I am hoping to move to Portugal next year. Think you need extra paperwork for your animals in Morocco, check it out well before you go. Have a great time.
My art goals are the same every year, and hopefully I can stick with it this coming year: Make more art for myself. I'm such a people pleaser, I'm always working on things for other people over myself, so I need to make things for the sake of making them for my own sanity. I also feel like we learn more about ourselves as we work on our own projects as artists, so it will hopefully be therapeutic. Your travel plans sound amazing! I had a professor in college who took an art sabbatical to Morocco, and it's one of her favorite countries she's visited. I hope you, Craig, and the dogs have a safe and wonderful new year!
Love the hair, your natural color is so pretty! And those landscape paintings are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! I've been surging for modern watercolor landscape art for a while now, but it all looks very samey. If you ever put out a watercolor landscape art book/zine, I'd definitely buy it! And this one is going on my list as well!
My ex-husband was Moroccan and my recommendation for vegan 😋 is Argon oil, not only used for beauty and hair products but his sister used to send him jars of finely chopped nuts in argon oil, simply spread on bread
It's cool to hear about your goals for the new year! I love small press and zines so much I can't believe I haven't picked up one of your zines yet. I just wanted to add that risograph is for me a good in-between for original artwork vs. mass-producing prints as I don't have the time to make original and all of the prints end up having their own original flair.
Oooh chocolate digestive tea! Is that Bird & Blend by any chance? I have mine with maple syrup when I am feeling like I want it a little sweeter and highly recommend it! I got Two Scottish Summers for Christmas from my partner after some heavy hinting! It made me so happy and really helped me understand why I've sometimes felt really sad in some of the most beautiful places in England. It's also given me a quick kick for my own zine making :D When it comes to prints vs originals, one of the key things for me is that I wouldn't be able to dress my space as I do if artists didn't sell prints. I will rarely be in a space where I can afford originals and I know a lot of my friends are in the same place; and I want art to remain accessible whilst still having worth. A compromise could be doing Limited Edition runs? I know it's a little tricky in the van but a way to keep that personal is to number them perhaps? Gosh those double spread paintings are AMAZING, super well done there! And it gives me such hope that these projects are still being done. Happy New Year!
Hi Holly, wanted to watch your video on the book, but it has been automatically translated into german, as I live here. And I cannot change this a a viewer. 😢Such a shame, as I would love to know how you both are getting on and what your book is about. xxx
I'm staying in a house for the Christmas break by the way! I forgot to mention why I wasn't filming from the van :)
I cannot wait to see what you get up to next year 😊

Thank you Andrea :)
I'll have to get Storygraph now 😊 Happy New Year to you and yours, Holly x
Congratulations Holly
All lovely Holly ❤

I should have said I hope to see more puffins in 2025! Honestly one of the best days of my life :D
of course I'm following you on Storygraph : - )

A great update, the book looks lovely, well done ✅😊

I read Mornings in Jenin a few months ago. I was such a great read, highly recommend.

Yes we definitely do - we have a month in Spain to sort this out, hopefully all goes well. Exciting, hope your move to Portugal goes well!!
Such a beautiful book and illustrations 🌳Thank you for sharing Mohammed's fundraiser here too ❤️🔥
I want that book! I love end covers, that pattern is so cool!
Wow, I'm excited for your 2025. Love the plans.
Thank you!

Love that art goal for you, seems like you really understand yourself 🫶
Thanks for all that you do... ❤ I just bought your zine, can't wait to get it!
Thank you so much Cecile!
What an adventure for 2025! The zine and book both look amazing!
Thank you!

Blackshirts and reds is a brilliant read
I saw it in a book shop yesterday and nearly purchased it - but I need to stick to ebooks if I'm being realistic!
Lovely work!
My ex-husband was Moroccan and my recommendation for vegan 😋 is Argon oil, not only used for beauty and hair products but his sister used to send him jars of finely chopped nuts in argon oil, simply spread on bread
Oooo wow I will defo look out for this thank you :D

Good point, different methods of printing to explore for sure :)
Lovely work, Holly!♥️
Thankyou!

It is Bird and Blend yes!
Random Holly, your hair is almost to the point that you could chop off the blonde and do a short bob. I think that would look really good on you!
I do think about this sometimes! I do like having long hair though, but maybe thats unrealistic considering the breakage :(
