We have a rescuedog from Romania. She has a lot of Mioritic Shepherd in her for sure. Very loving to us, and fierce to strangers. She also looks like one, exept for her shorter hair. She's a handfull, for she will kill anyone and anything to protect us, but we love her so much!
I have a white "snowflake", her name is Masha-Rusha. She is a sensible, brave dog. I love her so much. Our home is the north-country in Germany in front of the woods. She`s my protector !
We are also considering adopting a Mioritic mix from a Romanian animal rescue. But we are insecure about upbringing. Because many recommend these for experienced dog owners. We had 2 dogs. But not herd protection dogs. What is it like to train such a dog? Are they very territorial? We also live in Germany.
We have a mioritic that was brought over to the UK as a rescue dog. He was only 4 months at the time so we weren't sure how big he would become. He's huge. 60kg. He is a fantastic family dog and absolutely stunning. We haven't seen any other in the UK.
@@russellwhitham2274 hi Russell . I have just lost my mioritic he was about 11 or 12 .a gentle giant they are a fantastic breed of dog he weighed about 8st. Rescued from the Carpathian mountains in Romanian.we live in North Wales and we have never met another mioritic. cherish your baby every day.all the best. Mostyn
@@mosty3 So sorry to hear that. We live in Lancashire and we've never come across another. He gets treated like a king and we realise how lucky we are to have him. He's had to have both his knees replaced at a cost of 10k. Thank goodness for insurance. Good as new now. All the best Russ.
