Nashville's commentary is fucking embarassing. I'm tired of hearing people talk shit about Boston if this is the kind of bullshit they get away with in the rest of the league. What a joke.
The Nashville announcers were willfully blind, and it was bad, but they don't hold a candle to Boston announcers, who would have been in full "completely clean and justified" outrage. There are no homers worse than those announcers.
@@malsmithson4312 Gonna be more than that after Moose or Trenin works him over on the 18th. I'm not in favor of deliberately injuring people, but fuck it, L'Heureux needs to learn a goddamn lesson. When you deliberately injure someone in the men's game, you get your ass kicked.
There's a video of all of this kid's career suspensions in Juniors. He's used to this type of play. If they play again, he better be ready to drop the gloves with Foligno or Trenin. Retribution is coming. IMO, you can argue for and against intent. Just an unbiased opinion. Well wishes to Jared Spurgeon.
Somehow he got away with only three here? This guy has a history even back before his time in the AHL. Nine suspensions in juniors and two in the AHL. How did this guy get called up?
Its interesting as an outsider (from the UK) to see the different takes from different commentary teams. However, the Nashville commentary saying that isn't a clear slewfoot is crazy! I know each local market's commentary teams are going to have a bias towards that local market team, but everyone could see it was a dangerous play from L'Heureux, a dirty play, even, and you choose to blatantly ignore it because it was against the local market team you're commentating for. I have given the Boston commentary team a lot of stick in the last decade for their bollocks, but this is right up there with the most ludicrous commentary calls.
@pastagamer420 my point is that even Boston announcers would call it like it is on a clear and intentional slew foot of both legs. With injury resulting in a match penalty. Not whatever this sightless slop commentary is. Obviously you don't seek logic; so I'll exit stage left 🤡
Somebody-if not Brunette or Trotz, then for damn sure Haslam-needs to sit this kid down and tell him that if he does this again, he’s done. Doing nothing will effectively tell every kid in the Predators fan base that this is okay. This is one time where an owner has to intervene.
I love the dual-feed videos! I usually only see the Wild perspective. It's nice to hear and see how the opponent, Nashville in this case, views the hit. This seems like a blatantly obvious Slewfoot penalty, but again, Wild fan perspective.
Issue is, the kid's been an issue even BEFORE cracking an NHL roster. He's had a history of NUMEROUS suspensions in the juniors, and then two more in the AHL before his callup. Bettman needs to square this kid away or threaten banishment from the game of hockey. Absolutely zero tolerance for this kind of behavior in the NHL whatsoever
Crazy the league thinks this is way less than the Rempe suspension they just gave out. One of the dirtiest plays in hockey. The Wheel of Justice is alive and well I guess.
The DOPeS need to up suspensions by a LOT. If you injure a guy on a play like this, you need to be out for a long time, and on top of that, as long as the guy you hurt if it goes beyond your suspension. Clean up the greatest game on earth.
This kid's had a long history of suspensions for dirty play dating back to his time in the minors. Bettman needs to tell this kid "one more and you're DONE in the NHL, try me I dare you."
He only got 3 games, but I propose that Nashville eat the salary of Spurgeon while he is hurt against their cap and given to the Wild with a cap on how much they can receive
I wish they'd implement that for intentional plays like this. Possibly some level of safeguard so a team can't go "aw geez, our 5 minutes a night 4th liner can't come back, your star player is gone indefinitely", but within reason going "your suspension is injury time plus X games" is absolutely something I could get behind
Wow. These NSH announcers are from a different planet. The sad part is that the NSH head coach played with Spurgeon during Spurgeon's rookie season.
