You can just prise out the window switch and slowly prise out the sockets below - there are tabs for this. You don't need to remove the console etc. This takes like 2 minutes without rushing.
I did it this way in particular because I didn't want to possibly damage my center console by prying with a screwdriver. But I can see how you can get it out that way too.
Sheesh what a horrible power window switch design. Press for both up or down. I was wondering how a toddler stepping on the window switch managed to close the window and trap the mother. I've only ever encountered the switches that you have to pull to go up.
I’m pretty sure the design is so that you never have to take your left hand off the wheel for anything weather it be shifting or windows or music it’s all on the right side.
