    ================
    The world is a reflection of our internal state; if we dwell on turmoil, anger, and confusion then that’s how the world will be perceived to the individual. You have to work on yourself first before you can effectively take any social or political action. A quiet mind and an open heart are important attributes to project into the world. Only then does the intersection of politics & spirituality affect positive change.

    Ever since my spiritual awakening in 1976, I've been involved with liberal politics. I consider political activism to be at the core of my spiritual path, especially the environmental movement, the vegetarian movement, and the human rights struggles as they played out in party politics. To me this is love in action, plain and simple.

      Uh--Yeah! ..just a tad..:) I love the way he ends with appreciation for simplifying life vs yearning/fixating on 'what might get lost in the shuffle' SO relatable--so Helpful! ..such nourishing presence and wisdom.

    Thanks a lot. I just listened to this episode in the midst of the COVID crisis :) This has given me a much better clarity about the Spiritual Politics ("AANMiga Arasial" in Tamil). I could envision this concept shaping up in a big way in the near future (Probably 3-5 years timeframe). It will revolutionize the political arena with ethical, moral and inclusive administration getting adequate support and guidance from Spirituality and finally transforming the society with citizen of higher consciousness.
