Absolutely Awesome James! The epitome of " They don't Build 'em like that any more". You couldn't buy a Mixer with that sort of quality and longevity now if you offered 20K for one. You are doing it complete justice with the quality and care of the engineering and restoration you are putting into it. The men that made these in the day with skill and commitment would be very proud of the way you are honouring this Fine machine. Seeing the young Fella helping you brought a tear to my eye. Good job he's a lot better looking than the old man but he's lucky to have a committed Dad like you as is your daughter whom makes time for them. Speaks Volumes for the man you are in my book. The engine is a little ripper. Something else built in a time when quality and longevity was something Companies and their workers took real Pride in. Same as my 6/1 Lister. Seems the shortcut of just starting the Fking thing paid off 'eh mate. Excellent vid as usual and a privilege to watch.

I was doing weekend jobs for blokes still using beasts like this and dodgy winget dumpers for extra beer money in the early 2000's everything is brand new on site these days tho from what I see, probably not such a bad thing, worn out dumpers are a hazard, especially with an 18 year old me at the wheel.
Eeeeeeon. How's it going? Are you looking forward to me moving all your tools into the bunker so you never get them back? Once they're down there they're mine. That boxford is going to look beautiful swimming in muddy water surrounded by mosquitos.
Nice work! The engine sounds fairly good now. Both of mine are rope start.... which is a bit harder. If you need a sprocket made I do have a rotary table and a milling machine. A tip I got from a subscriber on my machining of flanges video was to keep your tooling as short as possible. It helps keep the chatter down.
All three of mine are crank start fortunately, I don't mind recoil rope starter but loose rope is a right faf. Thanks for the lathing tip, always appreciate the pointers my friend.
I have a Lister Petter AC 1 with optional electric start, but has to be started with the rope. I picked it up as scrap. I have it sitting under the shelf on a trolley. The injection pump and injectors needed rebuilt.
Nice, hopefully it won't need any new bits, spares are getting a bit pricey. They're fun little engines, I originally picked up the lot of 3 because I wanted to make a diesel power hammer, it still seems like a good idea.
I started one, much older than this one but the cast iron drum and yoke were unfortunately irreparably damaged so became garden ornaments. Well remembered.
It's dirty less refined paraffin so it burns sooty in things with a wick like lamps. I don't normally have to pay for it, it's what helicopters and jets drink.

A 6/1 as in cs? Those things are absolutely beautiful, play a lovely little Melody unlike these smaller engines.

Now that’s the mixer I remember in the seventies great job mate well done.👍🇬🇧🤘🍺

Lovely old mixer and with that superb little desol engine that will last you a lifetime. 👍👍👍.
I hope so mate
A man in his element…. Your knowledge of old British engineering companies is amazing. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Know Expert
Hopefully nothing to involved required, just a lot of paint! Cheers mate.
f o'brien of fobco drills fame. That mixer looks every bit as well built as the famous drills 👍
The name makes so much more sense now, nice one mate.
Awesome!
I can't wait for the next video

Very nice machine and work there James! That thing is nuts!
Thanks mate, lots of nice big lumps of iron
iv been looking forward to the mixer restoration series

Nice one. I have no idea why, but I assumed the drum would be be fixed to the frame with bushings
I was expecting ball bearings but the size and number of them on this ol girl surprised me too
