The great comedians like Chris Rock, Ricky Gervais, Bill Burr, Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, they never needed to bring politics into their work to stay relevant or funny. I think Russell Howard is a funny guy but I disagree that turning to politics is the only solution and I think if comedians do decide to move down that route, they are in danger of discrediting themselves.

And the fact that only recently have they discussed removing the tax on sanitary items, after many MPs (mainly men) voted to keep the tax (whilst many items like Jaffa cakes, male razors weren't taxed in that time).
@Top Lobster Why do I pay taxes for other people's healthcare when I am healthy and haven't needed to visit the doctor in years. Because I believe the access to healthcare is a right not a privilege, similarly to access to feminine hygiene products. Periods only affect women. If it was something that affected only men, say erectile dysfunction (i.e Viagra), then I'm sure that sanitary products would also be free on the NHS. P.s. I wasn't saying that it should be free for everyone, just that parents with daughters from low income shouldn't have to shoulder this additional financial burden.
@Top Lobster Russell’s comments have made a difference and the government has made a budget for schools to have sanitary products available for how long I don’t know. Point is if families are on Universal Credits etc, price hikes on everything especially energy prices poverty will only increase. Some of us may be in a fortunate place to buy our daughters what they need many in the U.K. a well developed country simply cannot. Good on Russell he is fighting for the wee men, women n kids raising awareness & educating people like yerself.
