The bit by the end where he asks people to listen to the whole album without skipping anything at least once... I concur to that. Actually, that's how I do it to every album that drops from singers/bands that I like. Album have their own "flow" (that is supposed to make sense in a way), so listening to the whole thing at once for the first time is always a great experience

I agree, even if you already listened to the singles, like there's a reason the track list is the way it is, you gotta listen top to bottom
I never listen to an album on shuffle, it just doesn't feel right. It's like how Taylor is releasing Red (Taylor's Version) and everyone is either going to listen to All Too Well 10 min version or the vault tracks first and I'm like, no I'm starting with State Of Grace and listening to the entire album the whole way through because that's the way it's supposed to be!

I mean, that's true for a lot of albums in the traditional format. But why does music publishing have to conform to that format in the digital era? A lot of "albums" these days is just a collection of singles, and that's a valid way to release music as well.

I'm a grown man at 45 years old, always loved music from playing a recorder at primary school. Never once been to a live gig but my wife convinced me to go see Ed. I love every song the guy makes, he is a genius and immensely talented. I was a little coy at the gig but Ed is so aware of the crowd he knows there's many a man in my position and calls us all out. Everyones girl/wife is staring at their man as Ed calls us out and we all just get up and join in. Fantastic - been back to see him every time he is in the area.

What is a "littly coy"? (I can always get take some comfort googling; so what "do you mean" by that)
"Calls us out" reminds me of lyrics "thinking out loud", this I find interesting: "everyones girl/wife is staring at their man" sound somehow very "explicit". Do specifically men not "think out loud" but act? So thinking out of men is getting loud in a good way as any smith will hit the right number which is one? And how to explain the difference in sense of "everyone" to "everybody"? First guess: with everyone you count, let me say (came across some Depeche mode (Sheeran seems to speak fast? lately: everyone counts in large amounts as everybody in that case makes a difference, the audience is no body but guys like me that may twitter away in large amounts but each one differently, and this is to be noted, somehow: that people to that, they do twitter, as they have voice "recognition" "now".

As someone who doesn't listen to his music at all, I do enjoy seeing him in interviews and wish him every success. I'm envious of his Game of Thrones cameo and thought he was excellent in it.

I listen to Magic every morning before work. Have done for the past 8 years, by far my favourite radio station. This not how I imagined their studio looked. I imagined a tight crammed office space, illusion broken.
Michael Owen did it for balance and that's why I did it. It helped a lot!

The best thing about vinyl is that there is no shuffle/random. I used to always have a favourite side but it meant that you listened to it, in order, as it was meant to be heard. The best thing about cds is that I can listen to the whole album without the flip in the middle. 😊

To everyone commenting...The A Team was not a number one record...it hit 3 in the UK and 16 in the US. Sing was his first number 1 in the UK. And Shape of You (like she said) was his first number 1 in the US.

I wish could play an instrument, in school we had to play the accordion first so i did and then i played piano and then the flute but i'm note blind i can't read notes. I can play a bit by ear but i don't have that gift to play properly.

cassette...records what...I checked the date of this video as I like what's going on, cassette tapes are still a thing. I know records made a return for a while, but fair enough I mean I never thought I would give up cassettes. People were like cd's sound so much better, and I finally gave in and tried listening to a cd and yea....Then mp3's came and went, and now you have any song you want at your finger tips. On your phone and now you don't need separate items, at one time you had to have your Walkman, discman or mp3 player, your phone because they didn't do a lot at that time, and then a camera if you wanted to take pictures. Now it's all on one device, and of course you have the internet, video games, so that would have been a laptop. All the crap you had to carry at one time, technology really has come a long way. But great video I like Ed and how down to Earth he is, he's doesn't seem to have changed with fame.

I don't think they were trying to be rude, but I hate it when interviewers make it sound like it's been a long time since an artist made new music. I think it comes across as they weren't being productive, even though they're touring that lasts forever and sometimes you just need a break.
And he lost friends and had a child. Big life events and they act like they owe the world a new album every year.

Yes... The cassette trend came in shortly after vinyl reignited about 8/9 years ago. So regardless of all this digital streaming now, it’s heading back towards analogue music, for the simple reason it’s a better experience. Unless you’re driving, then vinyl becomes a slightly more problematic option.

Edit: sorry for not editing that much, you sure get the point of the theorizing that follows, "just read", I hope it's good twittering in the sense I make up in the following.
Surprisingly I am able to assume I have even learnt what Sheeran more or less intentionally wanted to teach, "to the young" who these days, by new technical means, may have become one everyone: all have equal "opportunies" to become a master of music or simply the best, starting out as no1 "in" Australia. In times of frank inequality of opportunies or possibilities (what's the difference) you "may" have said no. 1 "of" Australia, correspondingly Sheeran being "presented" by and to, by "master" of talk (as it occurs in this edit: anybody in all historical situtions had possibilites and opportunities to talk, well, except in Butcha at a certain moment in space). There is a whole lot of basis to theorize in that small clip of interview. If an interview start with interviewing about interviewing - that should be some "be prepared" to enter "Meta", see my many quotation marks.
So what was I up to to mark down? It's hard for me to "understand" Ed Sheeran talking as the what you call it moderator is not slowing him down - he lets him aha "finish" the interview, and it's Sheeran's guess about which level is right for the audience. He seems to fast - it's like twitter or flutter - to me as quite a good sports in English. First thing to recur: the, what you call him, and her, she's in the background anyway, the moderator does not need and may not - that's the point - present a star as form some sky, as it's actually on the edge of Sheeran, or the commentator competing in equal opportunies, in a land of penty, with "anyone" who's up to become like him or unlike him, and it doesnt', in some logical sense, evene matter if one is up to be better or just different. There is no fixed hierarchy. The basis is possibly ambivalend, it's not sticking by the rules. It's because there is material technique - Madonna is a material girl - to discuss what's unclear. There are no users or newbies even who are presented to explanations which would not even have to be reasons why, it might just have been presentation of what is.
Second, the instrument that's being shown Sheeran had started music with more than the violin in my assuming is more into the rhythm as it's heavier in kilopond of muscle force that's in the legs. Whatever the bodily reflection of arms in contrast to legs is (I think it's more: fast "twitching" muscles and slow, stronger muscles (holding, that's it: the cello or the bass is much more longer in stroke it's holding out, it could not switch or twitch that fast, I just leave these brackets open: this makes me guess Sheeran started twittering fast in hie English as they brought up the cello, as that's what's missing with the rhythm: any "fast change", like being no 1 in Australien, at times when only the winner logically is able to take all and that's the equality to which there are no alternatives: winner takes all.
Let me write down, in your space, sorry for overdoing: by no means bad not to understand the sense of Sheeran's words, this reflects the fact that to foreign speaker it just doesn't matter what the singer says (it may be surprisingly different to a singer, himself, especially if writing songs: you might try to sing any text, would that be possible without somehow reflecting on what you say - just a guess, in another radio show Chris from coldplay was told to make up a song from a arbitrarily chosen text, and he turned out to be surprisingly good at eat: but the chord progression was given? No, it wasn't. I will think it over).
Verifying some ideas: I do think, not only believe, just with lyrics it didn't matter that fast speed that made Sheeran incromprehensive in sense, wording. As he transfered a very good rhythm, just like birds maybe do, and in nature, that might even be some allegory of drinking, or being fed, directly to the mouth - actually, Carden once made Sheeran stuff into his mouth some all you can eat, the point was not to gulp it down. I will think that over, too. Take gulping, drinking down the milk, that's the first sound you detect, from your throat, in this world.
